Most places are reporting it as the increased # battled just gives you MORE rerolls, so 6 rerolls at 500, 5 rerolls at 300, etc.

Shiny hunting is NOT fun. I remember with my shiny charm in Pokemon X whilst doing Masuda method, 8 hours of breeding my vulpix a day. It took me 3 months to get 1 shiny, and it wasn't the nature or max IVS so I had to keep going. It wore me the hell out.

Someone needs to tell Austin to do more research, Nintendo released the method for shiny hunting in the new games and they started clearly that there is no catch combo.

That's cuz he's seeing about half of the method, Nintendo released a statement about it. Just battle 500 of that Pokemon and shiny charm helps, but there is no combo so don't worry about it.

I did too but i traded it again, cuz i want to get shinies by myself haha
After doing the battle combo I can answer that question:
- You can save and sleep your game but don't turn off the game (it will break the chain)
- Don't fight any other pokemon other than the one you're hunting
- running away from an accidental encounter will still keep the chain and will not break it

I had a Sneasel chase me around the wild area that I was trying to avoid. Low and behold I encountered it and it was a full odds shiny!!

I Hunted Litwick for about a month then decided to take a break and hunt a random Pokemon and got a shiny in under 30 eggs,
If you're having a hard time just take a break and try to have fun with it, "laughs in non shiny slowpoke"

The number of pokemon caught/defeated increases the number of extra rolls.. ( at 500 being 6 rolls ) Which would be about 1/500 like he said BUT without the chain there is no extra rolls. And it doesn't cap at 2 like stated.
So at a 25 chain with 500 defeated you have a 33% chance for a 1/560 chance NOT a flat 1/560
You would only be getting it 1/3 of the time so in reality your odds are more like 1/1600 at a 500 + 25 chain.
Thanks for spreading miss information for easy clicks though.. you can't even copy other people's research properly 🙄 also you should give credit to the person in which found the info.

FYI, wild encounters are bugged making square shinies more common. Star shinies are still more common when breeding though.

JVEE SOOKIE Dec 31 - Jan 03 you can update your wild area news. The current promoted dens have an 8% chance of being a guaranteed square shiny Magikarp, and a chance for hidden ability and/or egg moves. Check AJP’s videos on raid den date spamming to ensure you can get one before time’s up.

It's always been hard to get shines but with dexit my go-to shiny breeding friend has decided to not bother shiny breeding this gen. Her (insane and amazing) goal was to breed one shiny of every pokemon. She was up to around 350 in ORAS. 620 in USUM. So thanks for the vid. If I want shines I'm gonna have to do it myself.

And i encountered the shiny wingull in pokemon moon well on my way to get a rockruff

But they are good shiny gyarados which was a magikarp, a hacked shiny rillaboom from a trade and a shiny pawinard which I will evolve

SteffanieVlogs my recommendation is to go with something with high spawn rates in the wild! Just caught my first ever shiny rolycoly day 2 of the game by grinding route 3 in a small patch of grass with high spawn rate rolycoly

Hey love the videos! Helps out a lot. But got a question, maybe you or the community can answer? For shiny hatching I know if you get a foreign ditto and breed it with your pokemon you get better odds, but if you do a CHT Ditto and a GER dreepy on and English game would the odds increase even more?
I love how they got rid of megas and primals then made zacian and zamazenta basically the same with the rusted sword and shield

I used masuda method (without shiny charm) and after around 270 bred rowlets i finally got a shiny one. Happiest pokemon experience ever as it was my first shiny i actually worked for. The first legit shiny i got was a pikachu but i barely had to do any work, after like 5 or 6 pikachu max raid battles i got a shiny. I put more than 15 hours into the rowlet though.

I've made a Japanese Ditto in Pokemon Sword and I traded it to my friend's English version of Sword. Does the Masuda method still work or does it only work if he has Shield?
it still works it doesn't matter if it goes to the same game or to the other one. As long as your japanese ditto was from a game that was in the japanese language (it should say JPN in the top right of the summary of the ditto) and was originally from japan (or any other region different from yours... if someone had their game in japanese in germany for whatever reason) then the masuda method should still work.

I had something similar, first day of playing I came across a shiny Honedge (now Aegislash) in one of my first max raid battles

This video is a bit older, but I wanted to let you know that I think shinies are more common in raids. I’ve found 6 in the last few days, both square and regular shinies. I usually find one or two after a couple of hours of grinding :3
Thanks for the information. Might give this a try eventually. I got lucky and caught a shiny nickit I think right away. All of a sudden I saw another one that was a different color that I realized lol.
