To everyone regretting getting all the legends before knowing about the shiny odds: If you make a new profile on your switch and play through the game again, you can shiny hunt the legends on said profile. It might take you a few days to get an entire save file done, but once you do, this will also allow you to get the other regi (regielecki or regidrago) and allow you to get the other steed for calyrex. Also, quick side note, you will need a water bike for regis (6 or 7th gym unlocks that) and you will most likely be astronomically too weak to get calyrex, so it might be optimal not to rush to crown tundra. ALSO ALSO you can get the other style of urshifu for isle of armor. Hope this could help!
One thing to add that I haven't seen mentioned: you can only have the scientist at the entrance to the Max Lair store the path to 3 Legendaries (or Ultra Beasts) at a time.
While in practice it doesn’t make much of a difference, the actual odds of getting a shiny in dynamax adventure dens with the shiny charm, is 3.94% (assuming you catch all four Pokémon). This is slightly lower than 1/25, or 4%, because each chance is a 1/100 chance. The equation for this particular situation is W-(P^n), where W is the probability of all outcomes (100% or 1) and where P is the chance of you not getting the shiny with the shiny charm and where n is the number of Pokémon caught. The equation would look like 1-(.99^4) = .0394 which is 3.94%. Also, if anyone is still reading this, the odds of you getting only one shiny (catching four Pokémon and having the shiny charm) is 3.88% and the chance of you getting more than one shiny is 0.06%. May the odds be ever in your favor.

The ultra wormhole yes they were hard to learn at first but once you get used to it, it’s easy, far better than the max lair imo. Dynamax adventures take forever for you to find the right legendaries, let alone get them shiny. The only thing I would say is that completing the pokedex on gen 8 is hella easy cuz of pokemon home. And in gen 7 was definitely a challenge, specifically when the game is not as popular anymore. But other than that i think gen 7 has the fastest sr so it didn’t even bother me shiny hunting legends there as much as it is on gen 8 tbh

@@thelilidiot just set up a new account it needs like 1 and a half hour to be able to catch pokemon again in the dlc. You can be in the crown thundra with pokemons level 12. Trade your starter to you normal game file and make him level 100 he will still do what you want in the new file because you are his OT and then have fun catching Legendarys again. He also made a video how to do that step for step so check it out

I was lucky enough to get shiny zygarde and I got zygarde cube from dude in Stow on Side and it can now transform to its 100% forme by getting to half health so yeah
yeah have fun if you want to shiny hunt Zygarde. I tried that with a friend and 2 bot. me, my friend and a bot all had ice types and zygarde destroyed us
Quick note: it is possible to get version exclusives without joining someone else’s raid. You have to get the location of the legendary from Peony’s daughter (the pokemon she gives you is random), But yeah I’ve got both Yveltal, Xerneas, Groudon, Kyogre, etc in sword.
Whenever i talk to her now she only tries to sell me necrozmas route, but she also knows I’ve caught necrozma. Even when i buy it from her and complete it from my list, she still says she’ll give me necrozmas route. I’m getting a little pissed lol
I think if you’re playing with someone of the opposite version you can still encounter and catch the Pokémon. If you’re playing with cpu it’s version exclusive

I like how you bring that up about regular balls… I enjoy them I was trying to catch a legendary Pokémon in ultra sun and was throwing a lot of ultra balls and timer balls eventually I just gave up and started throwing regular balls! It actually worked lol

Peony’s daughter gives main exclusives and common legendaries (like zygarde and girantina). Actually from doing the randoms I have more shield Pokémon than sword, despite me owning sword.
I do kinda like how shiny hunting the legends are made easier. I always wished that Legendaries had some sort of way to lower the odds atleast a little.
Honestly if you know what ur doing its pretty easy, I only had 100 entries when I completed the main story and ended up getting the rest in about a week.
Since you can get Solgaleo in Sword and Lunala in Shield, Cosmog should evolve into the one opposite from your version Like if you have Shield since you have Lunala in Dynamax Adventures Cosmog will evolve into Solgaleo and the it’s opposite for Sword
I have sword and I'm sad, I have hunted shiny raikou, latios, groudon, mesprit and reshiram (I have this one on 3ds), so if I want to hunt for legendarys they're pretty limited :c
You can get every legendary in only one game. I got solgaleo, reshiram, yveltal, dialga and a bunch of other sword legendaries in shield dynamax adventures.
When you catch legendaries that can get stronger with items, like dawn necrozma etc, the item you need (lunarizer, solarizer, etc) can be found in the stow-on-side merchant near the pokemon center.

Got shiny zygarde on first time I’ve defeated it without actually trying (yes the most difficult one), but been shiny hunting pheromosa (favourite Shiny and UB) for more than 5 days and got nothing.

You're right that he's wrong. But this isn't quite how it works either. The events are indeed mutually exclusive but that means that the odds DO compound. Just not like in this video. Instead of adding the probabilities (which would imply 100 tries would guarantee a shiny, but it can of course take longer) you should calculate the odds of not getting a shiny at all ( P[no shinies] = P[Pkmn1 not shiny] * ... * P[Pkmn4 not shiny] ) and then find the prob of at least one shiny by 1 - P[no shinies]. In this case it barely makes a difference though. 3.9% instead of 4.0%. But still haha cheers mate
It's funny; literally the FIRST day that I got this DLC, I went and did one of these and I got a shiny. The shiny wasn't a legendary, but I had no shiny charm or anything like that. I wasn't even trying to catch a shiny, it was just kind of there. Edit: Since you guys are asking, it's a shiny Boltund. Admittedly, the shiny is pretty bad (like the way it looks) but I was just excited because it was shiny at all.

The guy that gets possessed by calyrex, his daughter is found in the dynamic max dens, when you talk to her sometimes she can tell you the directions of a Pokémon. She gave me the directions to Latios in sword, meaning no legend is version exclusive

For example, each generation’s game titles are officially ordered as follows: Gold/Silver, Ruby/Sapphire, Diamond/Pearl, Black/White, X/Y, Sun/Moon, Sword and Shield. The legendaries available in the Sword DLC correspond to the exclusive legendaries to Gold, Ruby, Diamond, Black, X, and Sun, which are the first game in each generation (as far as how the game titles are officially pronounced together). Similarly, Shield’s exclusive legendaries correspond to the exclusive legendaries of Silver, Sapphire, Pearl, White, Y, Moon, which each are the second game in each generation. Just thought this was an interesting pattern.

Looks like I need to finish the Pokédex then and get a shiny charm lol. ... Actually I still haven’t finished the base story. I got kinda bored with it after finishing Pokemon Let’s Go Eevee.. Just feels like a slog to get through Sword/Shield. Dynamax Adventures actually looks fun to play though! I assume the fact it doesn’t show whether the Pokemon is shiny until AFTER you capture it is because it could be shiny and you would be so annoyed that it killed you and your party and you potentially lost a shiny. This way you don’t know it’s shiny until you know it’s claimable, seems like a smart choice.
That end part sounds dumb. Even Pokemon GO shows you the Pokemon is shiny without the need to capture. I feel like it SHOULD show you, that way you can feel sorrow when you kill it/it kills you, and you can try harder next time, or just never play again as well lmao. I booted Sword when I first got it. Never made it to the first battle though, before growing bored. Haven't touched it since (I've had since release). That's more my motivation to play games though, I just cant find the interest to, even though I WANT to. Hopefully once my Quest 2 gets here I'll at least get back into VR gaming.
I actually caught a Shiny Landorus in a Max Raid Adventure. I had to keep going in because of how hard the thing is to fight. It’s so easy to get knocked out. Add to the fact that the computer players do pretty much nothing
After shiny hunting in a rayquaza den I managed to find a shiny whimsicott after about 7 raids. Even without the shiny charm the odds are pretty high. It's a shame that the rayquaza wasnt the shiny though.

I need help getting sword exlcusive legendaries :
You can get every legendary in only one game. I got solgaleo, reshiram, yveltal, dialga and a bunch of other sword legendaries in shield dynamax adventures.
When you catch legendaries that can get stronger with items, like dawn necrozma etc, the item you need (lunarizer, solarizer, etc) can be found in the stow-on-side merchant near the pokemon center.
I am playing shield and I got Groudon's location from peony's daughter so I think you can get version exclusives through that maybe

You're right that he's wrong. But this isn't quite how it works either. The events are indeed mutually exclusive but that means that the odds DO compound. Just not like in this video. Instead of adding the probabilities (which would imply 100 tries would guarantee a shiny, but it can of course take longer) you should calculate the odds of not getting a shiny at all ( P[no shinies] = P[Pkmn1 not shiny] * ... * P[Pkmn4 not shiny] ) and then find the prob of at least one shiny by 1 - P[no shinies]. In this case it barely makes a difference though. 3.9% instead of 4.0%. But still haha cheers mate

It's funny; literally the FIRST day that I got this DLC, I went and did one of these and I got a shiny. The shiny wasn't a legendary, but I had no shiny charm or anything like that. I wasn't even trying to catch a shiny, it was just kind of there.
Edit: Since you guys are asking, it's a shiny Boltund. Admittedly, the shiny is pretty bad (like the way it looks) but I was just excited because it was shiny at all.

I didn’t know some of the legendary Pokémon were game exclusive. I talked to Sonya everynow and then and she tells me how she sighted a certain Pokémon and so far it’s always been Pokémon exclusive to the other game. Has that always been how it is or am I missing something? Genuinely asking.

It seems that the exclusive legendaries were grouped to correspond with either the first or second game of each generation. I assume the fact it doesn’t show whether the Pokemon is shiny until AFTER you capture it is because it could be shiny and you would be so annoyed that it killed you and your party and you potentially lost a shiny. This way you don’t know it’s shiny until you know it’s claimable, seems like a smart choice.
That end part sounds dumb. Even Pokemon GO shows you the Pokemon is shiny without the need to capture. I feel like it SHOULD show you, that way you can feel sorrow when you kill it/it kills you, and you can try harder next time, or just never play again as well lmao. I booted Sword when I first got it. Never made it to the first battle though, before growing bored. Haven't touched it since (I've had since release). That's more my motivation to play games though, I just cant find the interest to, even though I WANT to. Hopefully once my Quest 2 gets here I'll at least get back into VR gaming.

I actually caught a Shiny Landorus in a Max Raid Adventure. I had to keep going in because of how hard the thing is to fight. It’s so easy to get knocked out. Add to the fact that the computer players do pretty much nothing

After shiny hunting in a rayquaza den I managed to find a shiny whimsicott after about 7 raids. Even without the shiny charm the odds are pretty high. It's a shame that the rayquaza wasnt the shiny though.
