Something that Austin John doesn’t mention is that you must have the swords of justice Pokémon in your party when making the curry, so if keldeo isn’t showing up for you that might be why.

I cooked some curry then figured that out before seeing this comment I wish I knew about this sooner (edit: I know why he did not say he only has mew in the party when looking for the legendry's so he had the swords of justice in his party and did not bother taking them out)

This actually makes Keldeo the second time a mythical Pokemon can be caught in-game without the need of events or transferring, the first time being ORAS Deoxys.
Can you also count magerna in that too. I mean it is technically an event but so long as you have access to the qr code (wich everyone with internet does) you can get it in game
Also in VC Crystal you can catch Celebi
In the later gens deoxys was turned into a legendary, I have a book that says that.
dont forget victini is supposed to follow that... if we could find it.

Here's a very small little easter egg, I guess:
After you catch Keldeo, you can travel to Sonia's research lab in Wedgehurst and you'll get a little cutscene where she's surprised to find that there were actually four pokemon.
You do not get a reward for this. Just a little cutscene lol.

Keldeo was usable for a long time in Sw/Sh already. Darkrai, Arceus, Shaymin f.e. still cant enter Sw/Sh. They're kinda stuck in HOME forever it seems.
I'm just happy that you actually get to interact with Keldeo's 3D model in game before fighting it...instead of him just appearing out of a portal. Gives me hope that the future events will be of higher quality, as opposed to just being handed a Pokemon at the Pokemon centre

I know right! When I learned that the swords of Justice were in this game I was HYPED and sped on my way to get cobalion. Enter the battle... Wild Pokemon theme. Out of all the things gamefreak has sinned in this game, this is the worst. It is a crime against humanity.
@@lacytheespeon517 You're acting like Latias and Latios didn't get the wild Pokemon theme in Gen 3 and every gen afterward, as well as Cresselia getting Sinnoh Wild Pokemon in Gen 4.
@@MariOmor1 yeah but that was literally half of the generations ago. Since then most if not all legendaries have played a unique(or shared legendary theme) theme, whether they just play the original(Oras, usum) or they play a new remix of it. Even in sun and moon, when you encounter necrozma in the form of a normal tall grass encounter, it plays the legendary theme. Same with Raikou, Entei, and suicune as well as thundurus, landurus, and tornadus(which use the same unova legendary music as swords of Justice) plus, another difference between this and those examples is that your examples didn't already have a theme. These three already had their own amazing theme they could've just plopped in here, they don't even need a remix.

They just did something very similar with Meloetta in the indigo disk DLC, so it looks like they're doing exactly that! The method to get it so cool and crazy lol, even more so than Keldeo. Not sure how people figured it out. Would be nice if they stopped shiny locking them though.
That 3% catch rate is no joke. At an HP of 1 this thing still doesn't wanna get caught.
I have used over 70 pokeballs and i caught it on like 72 ultra ball

Cobalt on and Terrakion didn’t give me too much trouble. But Virizion made me have to soft reset like 3 or 4 times

@@insertclevernamehere1186 If you got the shiny ok, but this applies to shiny that you don't have yet and knows any of those attacks and pops out of quickball. There is also a second masterball available from the dlc.

I don't know if anyone else has figured that out but after defeating or running away from the legendary that you are shiny hunting, you can set camp on the spot that it spawned and then quit camp straight away. If you do that the legendary will respawn and you won't lose time traveling all the way back to the legendary

I used to watch Austin all the time when sword and shield came out, whenever I got stuck he was the first thing I would go to. After I finished the Isle of Armor I lost my switch and couldn't find it for 4 months, I found it a few days ago right after the crown tundra came out and the first thing I did was go to this channel for updates.
Fun fact: If you talk to Sonia after catching Keldo, she gets super upset about how there was a fourth Sword of Justice she didn’t know about.

When it said from the "Iron Will" Pokémon, I thought it was Registeel.
Registeel is actually the "Iron" Pokémon.
I honestly don't know why but my logic was, "okay, zapdos is the grassland pokemon since he walks around now, articuno is the iron will pokemon since its a psychic type now (?) and moltres is the cave pokemon because... caves are dark?" It just boiled down to me forgetting the swords of justice existed really

For the shiny hunters out there, if you knock out any of the three swords of justice you can go into Pokémon camp and exit. That will immediately respawn them as a fresh Pokémon with a new shiny chance. Knocking them out also increases your battle count so theoretically you could battle them over and over to increase your shiny chances, that is unless they have a static shiny rate.

Terrakion was shiny for me, first encounter, no soft resets and caught 👌🏻

For catching these 4, I tried a few things before I settled on the Pokemon to catch them with:
- Aegislash
** Ghost makes it immune to the Fighting-type moves (Close Combat, Sacred Sword, and Secret Sword)
** Steel makes it resist Leaf Blade, Iron Head, and Stone Edge
** Its defense is high in Shield Forme
- For Thunder Wave (as Aegislash can't learn it) I just had another Pokemon learn it and sent it out first turn, as all of them tend to either setup or use non-boosted attacks first
- Moves:
** King's Shield - to block damage, lower Attack, and switch back to Shield Forme after False Swipe
** Substitute - to avoid an OHKO from the single non-fighting move on each one after x3 Swords Dance (TR is by the rock next to the Spiritomb Grave at Ballimere Lake)
** Sunny Day - to remove Hail vs Virizion and Cobalion, and weaken Keldeo's Hydro Pump so Substitute would last a bit longer (TM found in Hammerlocke, Western Pokemon Center)
** False Swipe (TM found in Motostoke, Western Pokemon Center)
- Held Item:
** Silk Scarf - to boost False Swipe damage
I dont know if John knew this but I don't think he mentioned it, you need to have the three swords of justice in youre party while you're cooking so Keldio can appear

I actually really dislike it because it makes him not as special as he normally is. It sorta ruins the mythical Pokemon being rare

It would have been helpful to know the location of the actual start of the footprints when you first talk to Sonia about it- for those like me who couldn’t find it, go out of Peony’s house and into Frostpoint Field, and walk close to the first tree on the right.
Ive done this and still havent found any foot steps... nor havent found any in the whole crown tundra.... ive finished everything.. does anyone know what i did wrong

Hey Austin please help! I've seen a lot of people having the same problem as I do. There's no footprints anywhere...I can't start this side quest, Sonya won't appear. By now I have already finished the game (except that lost paper from Peony with wormhole above Lair), but stil no trace of footprints or Sonya...On a few videos I saw people with the same problem, but no one has the answer....Help me Austin John, you are my only hope....

@@justinwashe401 no, there's no footprints there, I already tried looking everywhere...
Found it!! Apperantly the problem was that I finished the Calyrex clue/story before I discovered the footprints, and looks like they dissapeared after that. The solution is : go back to that tree near Peony house, without your Pokemon folowing you cause it will just disturb you. Keep running around that tree and pressing A until the footprints magicaly appear out of nowhere. Then press A again on them and Sonya will appear. It worked for me :)

To catch cobalion I used: Aegislash with:
Shadow sneak
Kings shield
False swipe
Rain dance.
Holding a damp rock. And calyrex with sunny day and holding a heat rock as backup
for those who are struggling to get keldeo to appear, i think you need the cobalion virizion and terrakion you caught earlier to be in your party when you do the cooking
EDIT: the ones you caught on the save file, transfer ones dont work
Transfer ones do work, as long as you caught the ones from in-game.
All the dislikes are the shiny Keldeo’s that still aren’t released

I find this hilarious. Everytime I put the effort into cooking my curry was amazing. Keldeo never showed up. This time I did literally nothing, get Koffing Class and Keldeo appears lol.

One thing you either said and I missed or didn’t realize lol but you need to have the three legendaries in your party when you cook for Keldeo to appear
Ah, I was just about to ask in the comments here about why Keldeo wasn't appearing for me. (Right now, my Virizion is off on a Poké Job for EV training, which I figured I'd do while I was busy with other things, and thus I didn't have all three with me when I tried cooking. So, I'll just come back when Virizion's Poké Job ends.)

That beldum should be an extra reward for catching all three of the swords of justice, and also have near perfect stats because why not? I think it would be good compensation for the lame candies that you would already have plenty of from raid dens.
Agreed,Beldum has a terrible catch rate as overworld legendaries except those are justified.

Can you do a tutorial on how to get the Ghetsis eyepatch and the Lysandre visor?
The game protects against you using a Necrozma from another game in the Dynamax Cave BUT it does not protect against you using Virizion, Cobalion, and Terrakion from a previous game. So if you show them to Sonia she will leave. This means you can't catch Virizion, Cobalion, and Terrakion in Tundra AND it glitches out so you can't catch Keldeo. So careful everyone.
