Man I’m a 62 yr old black guy livin in Baltimore’s hood, but I can listen to these songs before I ever listen to rap music. These 60s pop groups made some beautiful music. Just a beautiful atmosphere around all these 60s songs.

I'm across the river in Alexandria. I totally agree with you. You close your eyes, and you are somewhere else. "Time of the Season " isn't just a song. It's a mood.. It's a moment. It's a feeling. It's an era. It transports you to a whole other world. I hear it, and I'm swaying to the music, moving my hips and my arms slowly with my eyes closed. I'm drifting away to someplace beautiful overlooking the water.

My social studies teacher is 63, super nice guy, never gives homework and gives minimal tests. He always starts the class by playing old fashioned music from when he was a kid, then sings and plays the tambourine. He played this today and I had to hear it again.
He was born in 1961, the same year the school he works at was built. He always joked about seeing if he could outlast the school. The school is being torn down this year, he wins.

Yes, Back in the Sixties, Many groups had a distinct sound that was all their own, instantly recognizable and thrilling. i was born in 62.............this song to me is classic 60's................so cool. today's music doesn't come close to the quality of the music and lyrics...................there might be an occasional song that might compete, but overall nothing comes close to the 60's music and sound. i want to go back to this when things were more simple and people spoke plainly without inuendo of any kind.

A classic among so many classics from 1964. As much as I love the sixties and the wonderful raft of songs that came out in the decade of all decades, this incredible song is up there with the best. Not quite standing alone but certainly a worthy number one, but it only made number 12. How bizarre is that! The song has a heart and a soul. Definitely one to add to anyone’s 1960s list!

It's funny, but you've known and loved the song since it came out, and though you know every word and note, one middle of the night watching of a RUclips video and suddenly it hits you - Dang, this song is sooooo good! The Zombies, like so many of the groups back then, came up with some really, really good stuff, and because there was so much good music, we tend to not realize how fortunate we are to have it.

I was early grammar school when this came out, and when I'd her it from someone's backyard on the way home school, I would slip right into the groove, and walk like I was walking over waves. I'm sittin' here doing the same thing.

It's interesting looking back & listening to songs back in the day. The groups back then were coming out of the woodwork, but with so many great songs. They were the Renaissance day's of music, when people were full of life, living every minute of it, with great music at their every beckoning! The best vocalists lived back then. The musical inspiration back then had a lot to do with the type of life that was going on at that time. We all had bands back in the day., because everyone wanted to be part of the music. Whether you made it big or not, you were being part of the music scene & having a great time. P.S notice how the bands were in sink with there musical writing skills staying within the range of sounds of the day, but yet uniquely adding there own touch to there songs that set them apart. What a range of moods you were put into. Great times!

I think in part we produced great music because our education was so good, unfortunately not the case today. Learning music at school was a huge part of the education system then.

Comrade dulls - As this year Rap/R&B sales have finally overtaken rock music - The Party™ has issued initiatives to completely break down society and degrade culture so the state can take total control. This will require everyone to hand in any 70s rock albums by white artists.
Despite most rock being correct & ideologically beneficial compositions, the band members themselves must be photoshopped less white - before being erased from the Collective Consciousness - particularly Led Zeppelin, Jethro Tull and Yes.
Citizens will then have their albums replaced with Rihanna, Bruno Mars and Linda Ronstadt - as well a whole host of Jay-Z-Approved performers, keyed in to reduce musical literacy, normalize salacious material, and generally demoralize the population. Also a diverse Islamic Jihadist music and Mexican folk music may be included.
MTV & The Grammys will no longer tolerate bands acting "white" by singing in English correctly, having above average tunes, playing their own instruments or using intelligent lyrics. Bourgeois values and the memory of them must be erased from the Collective Consciousness with the help of historical revisionism in the academia, news media, and the Party's branches in the entertainment sector.
The proletariat will then undergo re-education and be released from ungood thoughts, by instilling a culture of materialism, physical beauty, sex and financial success without effort or practical ability.

Comrade Dulls - the proletariat need not worry about the higher pursuits of the mind. It's been taken care of for them by us - the Global Elites !
I urge you to turn yourself over to the Party™ for re-education and be released from ungood thoughts. All Thought is Crime.

The Zombies were truly one of a kind, when it came to harmony, music and style. Immediately recognizable with the first couple of notes. "It's The Time of The Season", has been a pleasant ear worm, off and on, for me, for over 50 years. It's going to be one, again, for the next few days, after I listen to it tonight.
