I remember a looong time ago (when the song came out), that Clapton was upset, because the Yardbirds were a blues band, and when they were going to do this song, they were becoming too "pop" in his eyes. I heard that he refused to play on it, and they got Brian Auger to play the opening part on harpsichord. And the few times they played it live with Clapton, he had to try and recreate it with a 12-string (like Beck does here). He left very soon after that and went to the Bluesbreakers.

he went out like a god though, it was a guitar amp that electrocuted him
Very good looking guy😍
& extremely talented ❤
Such a loss to the Music industry 🎶
electrocuted by a guitar? wow thata's as rock & roll as you can get for a death
Keith Relf died years before Beck, not much mention here though
Yes what a tragedy; Keith was a great lead singer and is missed.
😻
The song that pushed Eric to leave the band. And the band never found another good guitarist. Umm... wait a minute!!
Amazing that Clapton quit the band because they were becoming too “commercial.” This is the beginning of psychedelic music, influencing the sound of Cream later.
& we miss Keith Relf , too😢
You had to be alive when For Your Love and Heart Full of Soul climbed the charts. I'm looking hard at 70, and even now when I hear this song I re-experienced the emotions I felt as a kid.
Me too,Wow im 76 today ,,,Thats of no matter ,,the fact being this classic still gives me cold chills every time i hear it ,,,, i too feel so young at heart ,,,long live the 60s era
"...when all we had to worry about was total nuclear annihilation." - Homer Simpson
Recently, the lyrics "Come tomorrow we'll all be older" was stuck in my brain and I had to hear the song and recall the the band that did it. Of course it was the Yardbirds. They were fantastic. Still love their music after all these years and I'm 77.
I'm still alive at 73
Hope ur still with us
Iconic song of the 60's along with Hang on Sloopy ! Takes me right back to those days of Kinks, Yardbirds, Cream (White Room), Doors, Byrds, Beach Boys, MOTOWN
Jeff Beck died from meningitis never take life for granted that's for sure rest in peace our dear friend thank you for all the great Tunes Jeff my condolences to the Beck family
Hello, how are you doing? It is nice seeing you here.
So horrid what happened. I still can't process it well.
The yardbirds inspired me to become a bass player and to listen to Rock and as a result to that I started my first music group, and so maybe a little late but I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart I’ll always Love you guys.
Rest in peace Jeff Beak for me was a legend and one of The greatest guitarists in The world .
@manuelarias1083 Jeff is great one. A favourite. I still can't believe he's gone.
Rest in peace Jeff Beck! You are part of history
One of the coolest bands in rock history
"Clapton's leaving the band!"
"Oh no! That's a disaster! Who on earth can possibly take his place? I mean, it's not like there's another genius virtuoso guitarist who needs a band to join out there!"
....two years later....
"Beck's leaving the band!"
"Oh no! That's a disaster! Who on earth can possibly take his place?......."
HERES JIMMY
+Itz Chunkz Jimmy.... I have a new song idea. Keith: we need a bassist. Jimmy: I know this douche that calls himself John Paul Jones...
srujan00 What kind of name is that?
+Rhubba Hindi
Itz Chunkz Jimmy Page was a bassist after Paul Samwell-Smith.
R I P JEFF BECK.
This song was so ahead of its time it still sounds fresh today.
Nah, it sounds old and crusty..........
@@BullyG1 This song is very dated
There's no such thing as a head of it's time it was the right time
Sounds like a pretty simple ditty stacked up against even the LEAST complex Hendrix composition though. Then again, Jimi also made Eric Clapton look like a beginner, so.....
One of those catchy songs of the sixties that are still good to hear fifty years later. This song was so popular then I used to hear in on the radios almost everywhere I went in those days. Good to hear.
The Yardbirds were an amazing group.
@garrison6863 Also very talented, but unfortunately they didn't gain too much popularity. However they were a great band.
I was eleven years old, and my dad let me go to a yardbirds concert! I was hooked on rock and roll! I'm so glad I grew up in the 60's and 70's, timeless music. The music today is nothing compared to then!
@dennisjudd7550 Cool. Lucky you. I wasn't around in the 60's. In fact I wasn' t around until the mid 70's.
Every girls obsession of the 60s
One of the reasons I picked up a guitar as a 12 year old kid and taught myself how to play!
Legends never die.
I love these guys. I was only 10 in 65, but I loved all this music, all these bands I grew up with. It was great to live in this particular era of music. ROCK ON
Me too! How lucky were we? Damn!!!!!
Rock on.
I like to think that as a teen in the 60s by buying these records and albums I helped to encourage the bands and singers to make more music.
Keith Relf vocals.
He has a nice voice
Unforgettable moments... wonderful times, the sixties and seventies... quality music... times when everything was much more relaxed. Big contrast to today's society. The Yardbirds... pure youth sentiment...! R.I.P. Jeff Beck...!
I love this one and heart full of soul because of the way Jeff Beck incorporated his Spanish guitar styles. Really made the Yardbirds stand out to me compared to other bands at the time - and even today.
One of our greatest guitarist of all time is in heaven, RIP 🙏 🪦 JEFF BECK
I am sooooooo in love with this 1965 video!!!!!!!!
Sad, RIP Jeff, back when music was great
Rip Jeff Beck
Oh God, when they stopped writing this music, no one could come close again.
Hello, how are you doing? It is nice seeing you here.
wow this is the first actual live version of For Your Love I've seen as opposed to the lipsyncs for TV that were so common at the time. fantastic instrumentation and snappy performance.
WOW, Jeff Beck on guitar❗️
The screaming girls - you'd think The Beatles were up there lol. The Yardbirds were awesome. Keith had such a great voice.
We'll scream if we want to!
I think those screams were edited in. I remember watching this on Shindig in 1965 and don't remember incessant screaming in the background at the time. Of course, my memory could be wrong. They also could have been edited in back then by American television.
Rest In Peace, I’ve watched and listened to your music since the sixties. Thank you
Hello, how are you doing? It is nice seeing you here.
I can't believe he's gone 😥
Why is it that the good ones always seem to die young, but the rotters seem to live forever?
Hello, how are you doing? It is nice seeing you here.
I remember this song when i was 15 and the name of the girl I was with when I first heard it if you are a baby boomer we lived in the best of times FJB
Always loved the bongos. Gave the song that little bit of extra difference. Great group.
Steve the bongos give this classic a chill of delight lol x
The Bongos went well with the Beatnik look of Keith.
This cool song..live and let live when applicable today
RIP the two members of The Yardbirds
Keith Relf (March 22, 1943 - May 12, 1976), aged 33
Jeff Beck (June 24, 1944 - January 10, 2023), aged 78
You both will always be remembered as legends.
Poor Keith had it rough with his illness. Died while making music for us too.
Descansa en paz Jeff, hasta el cielo🙏🕊
Jeff Beck playing straight up chords on a Guild with a sound hole pickup...fantastic!
14th May 1976, 40 years ago today Keith Relf was electrocuted in his home studio . He was playing an unearthed guitar and his foot touched a gas pipe. Due to ill health caused by his Asthma he could not stand the shock and died. R.I.P. a real nice guy.
His son found him and at first thought he was sleeping because he kept many late nights working on music
HarveyRoadie yes rip.i love the yard birds.keith was very talented
my birthday may 7th
an unearthed guitar?
@@heishephaestion4178 -Unearthed means ungrounded. I just looked it up. Had no idea.
I often wondered if he had stayed a little longer if he would have been a member of Led Zeppelin?
R.I.P. dear Jeff. You are the mightiest genius of the guitar. We will miss you dearly.
Hello, how are you doing? It is nice seeing you here.
Rest In Peace Jeff. You are a big legend, we'll never forget you.
Good Bye Keith and Jeff
Can’t imagine living in the 60s things must have wavy I just re live that time in my own life I have long hair I don’t care about modern world stuff being in my 20s I just want to have fun
I was 17 when this song hit tie air waves. I listened all the time to the Yardbirds. What a great band they were. I still love their music over 55 years ago.
Rest Peacefully Jeff Beck
Hello, how are you doing? It is nice seeing you here.
RIP Jeff Beck you're a true legend 💙
This is good stuff, soo old and so good! It is just a great classic rock song.
