When I was in High School in the mid seventies ,I was probably the only white guy religiously listening to Motown ,and between that, and The British Invasion, never was there such a high ratio of quality songs, and performances.

My bass teacher in ‘65 told me to listen to how the Stones often played grooves evolved from Willy Dixon and Muddy Waters. The Rolling Stones might have been the best thing that happened to spread appreciation for American blues in those days.

Of course they're miming for the tv show but yeah, the guitars and the bass and drum gallop on this, it was a beafy stellar cover they did, by the end it's symphonic, put it as soundtrack on a great old classic western!

This was the era of the transistor radio. As a teenager, I would have this prized possession jammed against my ear listening to this song and others being played on pirate radio -- Radio London, Radio Caroline, Radio Luxembourg. What a great time to come of age.

Watts and Wyman were perfect deadpan counterparts to the more animated Jagger and Richards. Brian comes across as amiably shy. But they all had great stage presence in their own ways.

Great lip-syncing since none of the guitars are plugged in to the non-existent amps. Even a big network couldn't afford mix-boards for decent audio. "Just play the record and pipe it thru the studio speakers. That's good enough for this audience."

Watts and Wyman were perfect deadpan counterparts to the more animated Jagger and Richards. Brian comes across as amiably shy. But they all had great stage presence in their own ways.

i was 13 when the Stones did this it was beyond belief at the time. Satisfaction was what blue collar kids sang along with in school yards in Whitestone, Queens NYC on little transistor radios another heaven and aother earth must come before that energy will be again!!

Amazing how good their music was, and Keith Richard's guitar playing, even at that early stage in their career. I remember playing this on a jukebox in the mid 60's.

Technically, up to and not including "Goin' Home", the Stones did not seem much interested in sound purity and clarity. That changed a lot from "Beggar's Banquet" on. A new sound engineer ?

Keith got better so fast it was amazing - the 63 recordings essentially had three musicians and a garage guitarist.
what makes this tune so good, and all their songs from that period, is the interplay between Keith's guitar and Brian's guitar, after Brian died they lost their magic for me.
