I don't think they were saying a woman couldn't be a 00, but they were saying that a woman couldn't be James Bond... this was largely in response to click-bait headlines where they were claiming that Bond was going "woke" and would be played by a woman... which is a distortion of what actually occurred.

There is a rocket-powered gun in real life called the Gyrojet. It never took off, and examples are rare collector's items today. In fact, the rocket gun in _You Only Live Twice_ looks exactly like it, and probably really is a Gyrojet. The rocket-powered ammo looks identical, as well, so that must be it. The point is to produce little if any recoil, which can help when shooting under the condition of weightlessness.

In real life, there is a company called Rocket Lab who are building a rocket that is similar to the spacecraft in _You Only Live Twice_ . It's called the Neutron, and it will have kind of a "mouth" at the front that splits open. It will be a reusable rocket like SpaceX's Falcon 9, and the "petals" of the "mouth" take the place of aerodynamic fairings that are normally jettisoned. When the Neutron has expended its fuel, its "mouth" will open to release the internal second stage, and the main rocket will land to be reused again. It looks like life imitating art to me.

Yes, there are magnets that can lift cars. Generally they are electromagnets rather than natural magnets so that they can be turned on and off at will. Such large electromagnets are used in junkyards all the time. I'm not sure whether a helicopter can readily be equipped with such a magnet, but at the very least it is certainly possible to do it (might need an upgraded electrical generator).

Connery’s best performances were in “Dr No,” “From Russia With Love,” and “Never Say Never Again.” (His personal favourite was “From Russia With Love.”)
For “Never Say Never Again,” he had final say in the script and casting. The title was the idea of Connery’s wife Micheline. She gently ribbed him about his earlier decision to NEVER play Bond again. (Her name is in the end credits.) The result was far superior to “Thunderball.”
Your reactions, Jen, as always, are charming and funny.

Sean Connery, the only real James Bond for me. Probably because I was a kid when I saw the first Bond movie in the 1960's. He was 31 in "Dr No" and 52 in "Never Say Never Again".

Cars are mostly empty space, so given sufficient force, it is easy to crush them down into a much smaller cube of steel.

Haha. Lots of fun as always Jen. "Lovely lairdies" galore! Bond went downhill fast after Sean Connery and Roger Moore but we must give credit to the film studios who make so much money by keeping it going. Weirdly enough, the only Bond Movie I have on DVD is the original Casino Royale, which is just bizarre but which has more of a plot than anything that followed.

1:38:30 - THUNDERBALL TITLE TUNE - Performed by (Sir) Tom Jones [b. June 1940]. According to Bond production legend, Jones fainted in the recording booth when singing the song's final note. Jones said of the incident, "I closed my eyes and I held the note for so long when I opened my eyes the room was spinning."

In this context, "piqued" means irritated. In other contexts, it can mean stimulated, as in "That piqued my curiosity."

12:49 If you look closely at Sean Connery's arm, you can see that it's pushed up against the glass that is protecting him from the spider.

Yes, guns can function when wet, especially pistols. If you're using a rifle with a relatively small caliber and high pressure, however, then you'll want to drain the barrel before firing, to be on the safe side.
In real life, if your mission starts underwater, then it would be smart to put your gun in a waterproof bag that is easy to tear or cut open, but in a pinch, guns can function when wet, like I said.
