      The sequel is kinda mean-spirited in a not-very-fun way. I'd say watch it on your own.
      There are still so many movies I'd want you to watch that haven't (yet?) hit the reactor zeitgeist in a big way:
      Walk Hard
      Lucky Number Slevin

      Men Who Stare At Goats

Your comment about it not being the 60s is kind of stupid since he wasn't actually trying to play a modern Batman here.
      Not to mention the fact that the 60s show made Batman a household name and saved the comics from being cancelled and falling into obscurity. It also created multiple generations of REAL comic fans because it was entertaining for children and funny for adults at the time. You wouldn't likely have any modern versions of Batman without it.

      I saw in some interview that the ammo issue in the hallway shootout was because they filmed a lot more footage of that, but it was making the hallway appear to be a country mile long so they cut a lot of it out, making it look like she was always out of ammo.

    • @rbrtck
      @rbrtck 20 дней назад +3

      @@raymondgilbert1341 The thought had occurred to me that it could be the result of editing, but it happens in other scenes, too, like the night vision scene. Maybe that was also edited down and/or reordered, I don't know. Whatever the reason, the end result is that she often appears to be artificially short on ammo.
      And of course she was "nerfed" at the end to let Kick-Ass be the hero. I totally buy D'Amico beating her in hand-to-hand combat while unarmed or barely armed, since he had some fighting skills and was much bigger and stronger, but she could have gone for his gun instead of throwing it aside, for example. And earlier, she never used her stun grenades when they could have come in handy, possibly. Carrying a few fragmentation grenades would really have come in handy when she was cornered in the kitchen, as well.

    Glad you enjoyed this classic Jen. If you are interested in watching Kick-ass 2, it's worth mentioning that it has a different director, who kind of tries to emulate Vaughn's style, but doesn't really hit the mark. The new director also goes for a much more faithful adaption of the Kick-ass 2 comic (faithful to a fault seems to be the general opinion), whereas Matthew Vaughn's Kick-ass, and the source comic diverge pretty heavily- to the point that one could argue that the core message at the heart of comic book, and the philosophy of the film adaptation end up in opposition of one another. I know some fans weren't happy about the changes, but I personally feel that they ultimately made for a more satisfying film overall. I've tried to give Kick-ass 2 several chances, but everytime, I'm let down unfortunately

My little brother is the goth looking kid on the bike in the beginning and close to the end scene and in the cafeteria scene. I’m barely visible in the cafeteria scene but I’m very visible in a deleted scene, I got to meet Evan Peters he was very chill and talking to a lot of the extras. She was feared on the playground. I had to teach that girl so much temperance. I thought she was a nerd, I did not know she was really a tom-boy..... ugh. The movie deviates in two major ways from the comics, which changes the tone when you get to the end. For one, Big Daddy's backstory in the comic is a lie, which he uses as an excuse to act as a superhero. He has a briefcase with him all the time, which he's very protective of. Turns out, it's full of expensive comics, which he's been selling to fund his and Hit-Girl's weaponry. It should be noted: at the end of the first comic series, Hit-Girl goes to live with her mom, who she didn't know was alive and well this whole time.
    The other big change is when the main character reveals his secret identity and that he's not gay--she kicks him out and hates him because he lied to her, sending him photos of her having sex with other guys, because she knows he'd hate to see it.
    Also, the finale action scene is definitely different from the comics, but I can't remember how the story ends in the source material. At least it's still noticeably an actual adaptation of the comic, though, unlike the movie Wanted (same comic writer), which may as well not even be tied to the comic it's based on.

It's one of the most hilarious real Hollywood movie stories you'll ever hear. Later there was a whole documentary done that went back and interviewed a good amount of the real life characters involved. Nick Cage is a huge comic book nerd and the rumor always was that he tried getting onboard with every superhero movie that came down the pipeline for awhile before they finally just made a movie where he starred as his favorite character (who he actually has a tattoo of) Ghost Rider.

    The movie actually softens a lot of things from the original comic (spoilers below):
    In the comic, Big Daddy's backstory turns out to be a total lie and he was just an accountant who wanted a more exciting life and raised his daughter with a fake story about him trying to avenge his wife
    In the movie, Red Mist is introduced early on and it's shown from the start that he is infiltrating the hero side; it also takes time to build sympathy for him and his relationship with his father. In the comic, he just appears midway through the story and him being a traitor is a big surprise
