This movie was severely underrated when it first came out, it’s started getting more recognition in the last 4-5 ish years which is good.
My favorite movie of all time. The only one I ever watched two times in a row because I loved it so much lol
I really love this movie. I loved how brutal it was, and I would love to see Mindy with Deadpool. That's a great combination.
It took me a long time to realize that Cage totally modeled his performance after Adam West Batman from the 60s (I think it was 60s).
Nick Cage's cadence was an homage to Adam West from the original TV Batman.
Nick Cage's cadence was inspired Adam West's Batman. And, Kick-Ass, though made by Marvel, is not a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Remember, Kick-Ass takes place in a world where there are supposedly no superheroes. The MCU is mostly about The Avengers.

Fun fact: Simon Kinberg pitched Matthew Vaughn to direct X-MEN FIRST CLASS after seeing this movie
Its kinda funny because bot Arron Taylor Johnson and Evan Peters played quick silver. So when he said hes the last person youd expect to be a superhero it was to ironic not to laugh
Nicolas Cage said he wanted to do the Big Daddy voice like Adam West in the original "Batman" TV series. Once he started, the director told him to keep it up. 🤣👏👍
I spent about a decade trying to get my daughter to be Hit Girl & I was gonna be Big Daddy. She is almost too old now. But she is in high school in the sequel.

"calypso" = cah-lip-so - emphasis on "lip" - pls don't take offense at my pronunciation corrections - I once read that most ppl who "mispronounce" words, do so bc they read more words than they hear - and there are also many words (names of people and places, in particular) that have multiple acceptable pronunciations, depending on geographic upbringing. (like, do you say, "tess-la" or "tez-lah"? is my name "furnace" or "fur-nehsss") ;-)

This s very funny action comedy superhero movie.
However, critics gave the film mixed reviews especially on Chloe Grace Moretz and ger character Hit Girl.

I love this movie and the sequel. I still have hope they'll complete the trilogy one day because it still gets talked about from time to time, but chloe-grace mortez said she won't do it because she didn't agree with hit girls direction of the character in 2 and just wants people to remember her how she was in 1..idk if a third film without her could really end the series well. Maybe but idk.
Can't do it without CGM! Even though it's called Kick-Ass, Hit Girl is the star. Too bad she's not into it, but I get it.
@@hollyhilliard1603 yeah same- I understand her point of view. I think 2 should have focused more around her- and that was a lot of CGM's issue- was that HG got so watered down, not just in screen-time, but as a character. Honestly, less screen-time would have been alright if the character would have been...more true to the character, since there were other characters and plot to flesh out as well- but they really kinda lost her substance within it which was a mistake because in 1 she had more substance than KA. People cared more about her and her story than KA himself and that's something that should have been capitalized on for the story's sake- not lost in the sauce.
