Thanks for doing this! Me and my friend did a playthrough of the original game last year and abused some emulator tools to speed up the class change process. Nice to know how to get what you need when you need it.
With an emulator (or collection of mana) you can just save state before killing the papapotos last and go until they drop a chest, and than save state and keep opening the chest until you get the seed
Thanks! I’ll probably get Hawkeye in NG+. He really helped with farming in the original so it’s good they kept his niche. It took me forever getting ??? Seeds in my first run on the remake.

You can farm Rainbow Seeds in the basement/lockup of the Dark Castle on Riesz/Hawkeye's path. If you've already completed Dark Castle, you can investigate the Rabite statue just in front of the Night Cavern to warp back to Dark Castle, then just go down the stairs opposite the gold statue, and continuing going straight, then turn right and right again to go down the stairs.

i tried this place on dark castle 4 behind place you fight crab boss you can get 3 rainbow seed from 2 demon and 1 shamanion i think its easier than 2 cattle in this video
Another good place to farm is in the Laurante portion of Anise's Stockade, specifically the main hall and the throne room. Doom Swords drop Rainbow Seeds a lot. You can also get ??? Seeds and Gold Seeds there, too.

thanks for the locations and mob types you might want to make a note that only two of the characters actually can go to that night cavern some go to other locations like crystal desert or illusion jungle or whatever it is for the third one but the focus on the wolves doesn't change

Addendum- Okay, here's the thing...the wolves do not respawn. What you need to do is fight your way up to the save point and fight back down. This way you can get the enemies to respawn without having to reload.
Mateo gives you the ability to cause enemies to respawn. This if I remember correctly is available after the volcano island.

This guide is only useful if you picked Hawkeye or Reisz as your main character. You don’t get access to night cavern if you pick any of the other four characters, it would have been nice to include gold seed spots for the other 2 character specific dungeons.

just some input even if you don't have hawkeye Golden Road is still a great place to farm item seeds to bring your level up to max. It took me a few hours but it was simple, but 100% Hawkeye makes them seeds rain. Great informative video helped me alot !

actually i found a best place to farm rainbow seed/silver/gold....it still inside anice stockade,unlike in video recommended althena fountain....for me it altehna underground passage,a square room north of map where 1 silver robot,2 gold robot and a wizard is the best place also outside of the room on the right is 2 chess monster also dropped gold seed.

This video got me so far ahead of the game it’s gonna be a breeze now lol directly after I got to the sanctuary, I started to grind silver seeds to get it to 5. I’m level 52 now and got some pretty good equipment. Once the gold seed farming area is unlocked I’ll already be gold to go lol

does that spot depend on the chars you pick? i'm also at anise stockade I but for me it's not that map. it's another one.
Let me explain exactly how seeds work.
Each seed has 4 tiers of consumable items it can give with a 5th teir being taken by equipment.
The items and you get from each teir and equipment is predetermined with only 1 result per teir when you pick it up.
The equipment you get is entirely determined by what class and class level you are when you grow the seed with each class having a complete set of equipment. ( the light-light class has a completely different set than light-dark, and the light and dark class 4 have their own sets each as well)
you must be the correct class to equip seed equipment ( light class 4 cant equip dark class 4 set).
The class 3 sets is given by silver, gold and rainbow seeds when grown at class 3, but the class 4 sets is only given by rainbow seeds when grown at class 4.
The odds of which tier you get and the chance for enemies to drop seeds specificaly, is influenced by your pot level and little cactus ability. The parties cumulative luck only increase the frequency of item drops, while the pot level determines if those drops are seeds. What seed you get for drops is entirely determined by what area you are in. The exact equipment and class items you get is determined by your specific class at the time of growing the seed. ( the equipment cannot be re rolled and is determined on pick up). the consumables are predetermined no matter what.
The exception comes with ??? Seeds who's contents are decided by if the characters in the party chose light or dark side class 2. you cant get light side class 3 items for that character if you chose dark side for class 2.
However you can get around this by resetting your class to class 1 and get a new pre determined set of drops from the ??? seeds that can be light or dark side class 3 items.
Really valuable info here. I'm hoping that people can learn more through this post.
Joshua Freyman is this 100% true? Seems kinda stupid you can’t get the class you want without spending a scale to reset.
@@charxcter_ in the original game you couldn't reset your characters class at all. The dev's knew people wanted to experiment without starting a new file so they compromised by only having 4 godess scales ( class reset item ) avalible per playthrough, so that each class choice is still a weighty decision. The first one is in the pre final dungeon and the other three are in the post game dungeon. they also carry on through new game+
Joshua Freyman i get that but im talking about the initial pick. I know what i want but what i was getting from what you were reading is that i have to pick the opposite type in order to get the class i want. Which means i would have to spend a scale to reset.
@@charxcter_ a better way to say it would be each character has four class 3 paths. Light-light, light-dark, dark-dark and dark-light. Class 4 only cares if you picked light or dark for class 2 and doesnt care about class 3, it's also only in post game.
What I meant in the post is if you grow the ??? Seeds after picking dark for class 2 for a character then you could only get the class items for dark-dark and dark-light for that character. Since you cant access light-light or light-dark for that character in that instance, the game will never give you the class items for those classes since it would be impossible to use them without a scale to reset which are finite in supply.
If that character resets to class 1 the game will allow ??? Seeds to give all four class items for that character since he can potentially choose any of the four class 3 paths at any given moment.

So since Guardians and Kettle Kins also show up on the Duran/Angela route, they can be farmed (albeit somewhat less effectively) in Crystal Desert for seeds, right?
I found a pretty good place for rainbow seeds If that's all your looking for. You have to travel further ahead the fountain area. You'll know when youre there when you see a Demon, wormwood, and a doomsword before you enter a giant door. When you enter the door there will be another demon, doomsword, and a bird. Farm there back and forth for easy rainbow. I farmed fountain and its really good but it gives silver to rainbow to ???. So it's not super efficient if rainbows all you want. I get 1-2 rainbow every 4-6 packs. Which is absurdly quick because they don't have super armor like the ones in fountain.
So in 15 minutes with luck find 1+2 I found 40 rainbows seeds a few ??? Seeds and some silver seeds. I could one shot with Hawkeyes CS2 so it would vary from people to people..
It took 24:37 min before I got a rainbow seed. I didn’t know the optimal path so at first I was just killing all the enemies. Seems you can kill the first group then cut through the fountain to the second group. Before I figured this out I found that leaving then killing the nearby batch of enemies then returning respawned the first group of guardian and kettlekin. Even close to lvl 80 the enemies took 15-30 seconds to dispatch.
I’ll let you know how it goes back at dark castle.
Are you sure that Lucky Find only works if it's equipped to the character that actually kills the enemy? It doesn't seem to indicate that in the game. Obviously anything luck-based is hard to determine anecdotally, but I've been playing most of the game so far with both skills equipped to the two characters I'm not controlling and I seem to get tons of drops still.
I suppose it can't hurt to do it anyway just in case. Thanks for the video!
I did some testing, maybe im just lucky and i only did 1x test.. so i might be wrong.. but it seems like i drop more when i equip both lucky find to my angela who did the killing, someone on reddit did a test and it seems like his best drop is when he equip lucky find on hawkeye who have 290lck

When I was recharging cs guage in dark palace before fighting black rabite I was killing enemies on the floor below and got rainbow seeds. I wasn’t sure if I had 0 when I entered but I believe so since I’ve been burning through them. I had 3 after I noticed for sure I was getting rainbow seeds. (I’m visually impair so the text can be hard to read when I’m not looking for it and catch part of it out of the corner of my eye.) anyway I watched, and had 5 when I went back up to fight black rabite.
This was with both lucky finds on. I don’t know which monsters dropped them or the drop rates though.
I’m at the fountain area now, was a pain to get back. If they don’t drop fast enough I’ll save then go back. If I do, I’ll keep a close eye out and let you know.
Ive been farming the silverwolves for the past half hr and the only thing i have to show for it is levels.....not one item drop. Not even chocolate.
So... when does 3rd class become available to be able to farm the ??? seeds.... I'm at lvl 38 and I am basically blocked from getting them....
So my ream consist of Angela being my main and Reiz and Charlotte. What is the best strategy to farm with them and what area should I farm in?

Definitely got t4 gear on the last seeds I acquired after t4class) Hey can anyone help a brother out? I've take my party to t4 job classes and I'm save scuming planting multiple of each seed (item, silver, gold, rainbow) but all I'm getting is t3 gear continually.

I have a suggestion regarding gold seed
In stockade just between "altena", theres an area filled with only shadow zeds.. they dropped gold seed and shadow eye with 2:1 ratio, if you have angela she can 1 shot with lucent beam+
While rainbow seed is easily farmed when you enter Riezs' castle area (i dont remember the name) right after the shadow zedd area i mentioned before.. in there you will find a demon, 2 doom swords and queen succ.. go upstairs to beat more mob there and then go downstairs. Best case scenario is that you dropped 4 rainbow

No need to farm them at all when you can get all six ??? seeds in the chests found. I got all six unique items that way in my first try.
@@teslaliveus860 I, unfortunately, didn't know that they wouldn't give you doubles if the item was still in your inventory and used two of them before getting my third. They gave me a second one of BOTH, along with one of EVERY other before giving me the item I wanted for my third character. To make matters worse, I didn't have Hawkeye for increased drops.

@@Chronux If you have a class change item in your inventory, planting a ??? Seed will not give you a copy of that item unless you already have one of every item your party could currently use in your inventory. That's 6 items, 1 light + 1 dark for each of 3 characters. If you plant 6 seeds without using any items, you are guaranteed all the different ones you need, and will not need to farm.
I did not know that at first, and used 2 items before I got all 6. The seeds decided to make sure that I had one of every other item, including a copy of the 2 that I had used(since they were no longer in my inventory) before giving me the third own I actually wanted, meaning I had to go through 8 seeds.

Either you have amazing luck or I have abysmal because I have been trying to farm ??? Seeds in the tower and I haven't gotten a single one Haha am I missing something? I don't have Hawkeye but I would think I would have gotten at least one by now.
Update: 1 seed after 30 minutes or so haha

Equipment and class change items also seem to be predetermined based on a few factors. Class change seeds will only drop duplicates if all available class change options are already in your inventory. So a good rule of thumb is to wait until you have 6 “???” Seeds before you grow them, and then you should get every available option for your characters (based on their current path trajectory). If you know that you’re not going to revert your class, then you should never need to farm ??? seeds, because they are all available in chests in the benevedon dungeons.
Keep that in mind if you want to reset their class and switch to another path later. The “goddess scale” item that resets your class is only in the final dungeon (and the post game dungeon) but if you want to switch from dark to light or vice versa, then you need to revert class, switch to class level 2 of the opposite path, and THEN farm two more “???” Seeds for them to be the class change items for that path.
Final equipment will also only have a chance to appear if your characters are in that final class when you grow the seeds. So I think it’s slightly different than ??? Seeds in that the ??? Seeds are predetermined when they drop, and gold/rainbow seeds probably look at your characters specifically when you grow them

I got very lucky. Both ??? seeds i farmed for were for my other 2 characters.
Fortunately, if you just spend a few minutes beating up Silverwolf enemies you'll get as many you as you need.
Rainbow seed only available in post game dungeons? Which mean i can't have any ultimate weapons to fight the last boss ? That sucks
the game have 2 final boss...the first final is main story final boss...2nd final boss is true final bost only on post game.
There are 2 "Ultimate" weapons and equipment. Once you're in your 3rd Class, plant Silver & Gold item seeds. There's a chance that the ultimate gear for 3rd classes will grow. However, once you do the Class 4 switch and plant Rainbow seeds, that's the seed that can get you the ultimate gear for that character. Characters have 2 sets of ultimate gear, one for their light path and one for their dark path. For example, Berserker (Class 4 Dark Class for Duran) has the Hrunting as his ultimate sword. For Divine Hero (Class 4 Light) would be a completely different sword and shield.
What's the max level on the seed planter that you can get

either the farm is patch or doesn't work the way you think because there are guides that say the best farm is fiery gorge, but nither your farm nor gorge has yeilded any ??? seeds only gold and silver which means its been patched or is only at endgame. which makes your statement of this "as soon as" a lie.
i fallowed exactly as you said i even have the same characters as in the video funny enough and yet the same farm for half an hour did not yeild any ??? seeds. the only ones i've gotten are the pre-placed ones in the benevadon chests.
My team is lv.50, 51, 51, beat 2 boss's and I have never gotten a ??? seed as a drop item, only 2 chest ones. (team is Kevin, Reiz, Angela, luck is maxed on all 3.)
Hawkeye has the Lucky Find and Lucky Find 2 abilities which boost drop rates, mix that with Matelo's More Encounter class ability you can unlock after the Ghost Ship by talking to him in Beiser, you have an insane amount of farming potential.

As far as I am aware, no. Only the one killing the mob, and it has to be you controlling them.

Matelo is found close to the Night Market in Beiser. He's close to the water's edge.
He's only available at night. Like RicochetForce said, he's close to the water in front of the Night Market

What if you don’t have Hawkeye on your team team
If you don't have Hawkeye, you'll still be able to farm the seeds, just a little less frequently. Hawkeye merely makes it easier to obtain the enemy drops. These enemies will drop the seeds, just maybe not as often if you had Lucky Find abilities.
If you have angela, its somewhat the same output.. instead of more drop%, angela provide you with faster kill due to her aoe nuke, just need to find a sweet spot for farming

@@Chronux You'll need to kill the enemy with the specific character that you equip the Lucky Find abilities to. So it's not a group wide buff.
I've fought at the Chartmoon Tower and Woods of Wadara, but could not get a single ??? seed no matter how quickly I won the battle or took no damage.
It seems that having a character with high Luck, particularly Hawkeye, is necessary to increase the drop rate.
Has anyone had an issue where you got a class change item for your three characters, then the remaining ??? seeds gave you nothing but Candy?
NO NEED to actually “farm” the ??? Seeds....sorry, this may be old info on a game that’s been out a while, but last night I discovered there’s no reason to farm any more than ONE ??? SEED AT A TIME
I’ve seen videos of people planting like 50 seeds at a time hoping they’ll get what they want, there’s no need to do this, they’re programmed in a strange way. I can’t explain it all, but.....
Obtain and plant ONE AT A TIME, the next seed obtained seems to always be something you haven’t already gotten. I’ve gotten all 6 possible class change items from exactly 6 seeds. I got the seeds from chests. I got the first one from the chest in the ice benevedon dungeon, then immediately planted it, then went to the fire dungeon and got THAT seed and immediately planted it and got a different item. There’s exactly ONE ??? Seed chest in 6 of the Benovodon dungeons, there’s 2 Benevodons that DONT have dungeons.
Basically the ??? Seeds will continue to be random UNTIL an item is received from the seed, so if you want to fight enemies or track down specific chests, don’t bother saving multiple seeds, you’ll get better results if you plant as soon as you obtain one, if it’s not what you want, DONT SAVE SCUM, instead, keep the item, you won’t get any copies
Now....I’m not sure what happens after you have all 6 items, hopefully it just goes back to being random because I personally want to try to obtain all costumes eventually
What with all the farming stuff on YT? Equip the Lucky Find I + II on your controlled character (that does the killing blows hopefully) and just play the game. The only times I went out of my way "farming" anything was getting 6 ???-Seeds ASAP and later farm some Rainbow Seeds to get the last two armor pieces I was missing before killing Anise. You get enough seeds from killing all monster groups you just happen to come across and treasure chests. No need to actively farm like a madman.
It is only explorable if the main protagonist is Hawkeye or Riesz thanks for nothin

The farming for classes is actually terrible, I'd prefer to have them unlocked by quests, because just adding a random aspect to it feels more like a gatcha game, wasting our time for this.
This isn't that great of a farming video. The best place to farm both item seeds and silver item seeds is in Sanctuary of Mana on the left-hand side up the first ramp. Regular rabites drop item seeds and king rabites drop silver. Tere's two of each in the groups. I ended up with 38 item seeds and 30 silver in ten minutes.... I used Angela Explosion+ with lucky find and limit break 2. She is a grand diviner so she gets her MP back at the end of the fight so I ended each fight in one explosion each almost every time. You get almost 5 levels each ten minutes until a certain point as well so use your cookies and money items.
You do need the More-Encounters for this to work.
