There is no cycle, very rarely will a person's trauma translate to the person acting out the trauma on someone else. Its way more likely that the topic and anything related to it will be traumatic to the person. That just makes an easy to follow story line for criminal minds.

It's sad to say, but there are parents who trust the wrong people and there are parents who just don't care. Predators put themselves in positions to earn the child's and parent's trust. I've also read cases where the parents themselves prostituted their children! Some had said their parents had done it to them or they are on drugs, but their past and the drugs don't decide for them, they chose to abuse their own children. People like that shouldn't have the ability to procreate, but at least their children are safe and have rehabilitated.

I was thinking the same thing as I heard him describe what they’ve seen. I accidentally saw a video of a 2yr old child getting beaten by his dad and I immediately started shaking and got sick for days. The image haunted me on and off throughout the years. I too, am typically pessimistic about law enforcement, having had negative experiences with the unprofessional and power hungry bullies in my hometown. Seems they love issuing tickets but not so interested in actually protecting the public or solving crimes. That’s why I watch Sheriff Grady. He is a model and gives me hope for all departments. From what I can see it seems departments are changing and having hard conversations.

I understand perfectly since it also happened to me. I suffered from a dislexia, stuttering, bumping onto thing and losing balance. I received therapy to be able to deal with shame. Three years ago I started painting and healing using my art as a tool and praying. It’s my testimony that Jesus Christ heals. I don’t stutter as much as before, my reflexes are unbelievable, I guess painting help me with my psychomotor healing and became a pointillist artist. I am sorry about this happening to you. It's sad to say, but there are parents who trust the wrong people and there are parents who just don't care. Predators put themselves in positions to earn the child's and parent's trust. I've also read cases where the parents themselves prostituted their children! Some had said their parents had done it to them or they are on drugs, but their past and the drugs don't decide for them, they chose to abuse their own children. People like that shouldn't have the ability to procreate, but at least their children are safe and have rehabilitated.

I was thinking the same thing as I heard him describe what they’ve seen. I accidentally saw a video of a 2yr old child getting beaten by his dad and I immediately started shaking and got sick for days. The image haunted me on and off throughout the years. Oh I know!! I don't know that I could do that work. I'd physically HURT the predators and ruin the case. I know someone has to do it, but I couldn't. I'd end up in prison as well.
