They know better than to be sarcastic to an Ogryn, or to get on his bad side... also, Ogryns make for great bullet sponges: having a friendly one shield you from a cultist horde is ever a boon.
Actually Ogryns are a wild card since they will smash the enemy... ut they might also smash the objective and flatten the target you wanted them to capture. Ogryns are useful when you don't want anything left standing.

But it did have daemons in the fighting." Other Vet: "Which one?" Someone Else: "At this rate, I would not be surprised if Morrow fought both in the Fall of Cadia *and* at the Great Crusade." Vet: "Maybe it's a family thing."
So far, they mention Marrow being involved in the War for Armageddon, corroborated by a new Commissar character they added the other day, the Xenotros Purgation, which is suspected to be a hint at genestealer cult being future enemies, and the Badab War... Morrow gets around 😂

All these talks and I've still never ran back into a conversation I've only seen one, even with 600 hours myself. I remember a zealot berating an ogryn, only for a veteran (and In think a 4th character) to threaten the zealot about it, warning them about accidents and not making it home. Might've even been back in beta I heard it
There is a Zip It mod that lets you disable certain voice line prompts, maybe disabling combat and ult lines would allow conversations to work uninterrupted

You are in Grendyl's warband...if the Inquisitor doesn't mind then it flies. If he or she did, then, obviously banter would be placed at a minimum. I think we can infer that Grendyl is a somewhat Radical Inquisitor at the least.

check your settings for dialogue subtitles, combat chatter and dialogue volume. that might have something to do with it.
It's harder for a conversation to happen when everyone is rushing ahead and there's constant fighting.
