As an ogryn, taking off toughness regen and gunner resist, was the single biggest Plato's cave for me in this game. I couldn't even believe how much of a placebo effect it had on me, and how little of a difference it actually makes. Now I'm a stamina regen and block efficiency cultist.
I wouldn't run health, personally. I would just make use of the toughness management talents. As long as you keep heavy attacking and killing, any chip damage from toughness bleedthrough will never kill you. I'm actually trying to wean myself off a third toughness curio for a +3 stamina. It's less impactful than on other classes, true, but +3 stamina isn't nothing. But that's just my opinion.
I've been wondering why the steam Ogyrn guide glazes that perk cause it never made since to me. I think with max stacks and max coherency with x3 toughness regen it goes from like 7 to 14 and even with the Ogyrn talent it goes from 14 to 18 a second. Which 18 a second doesn't sound terrible but i feel like relying on coherency regen isn't the best idea especially since Ogyrn already has great toughness regen with heavy attacks. It does go from 1.5 regen delay to .7 something. I can see some use with it with certain talents but there are certainly better options. But that guide also gives CDR like a 2/5 so yeah
Especially if you get separated or you're in a clutch scenario. You effectively have purple curios. I think the guide rates CDR so low because ogryn's ultimates in general are less impactful the less try-hard you or your group is. On the highest difficulties with the right team comp, you can keep ogryn's taunt (and +25% team damage) up near constantly, instead of just 15 seconds every 45 seconds.
Hey Tanner, I just wanted to say that I've had similar struggles connecting with people throughout my life. I know from experience how hard it can be to not always understand why people are upset with you, even when you feel like you're just being yourself - especially when you're speaking about something you're genuinely enthusiastic or excited about. It sucks, because I'd always feel like I needed to not get carried away talking about my interests, and I ended up just isolating for such a long time. It took me many, many years to do what you've done in a few months, it seems. I'm glad you've managed so well. It warms my heart to see. Keep it up, bud. /cringeover

3:36 you said you were gonna try to be nicer in an earlier video and as a new viewer, that half second word choice made me laugh. You're by the numbers what works I'm glad I found your channel.
I've been running vet shout from the beginning, it's completely busted. Gold toughness for yourself and your team, really short base cooldown that can be made even shorter, knocks down everything around you in a huge radius and even staggers monstrosities...it's op. The community slept on it for a long time.
Watching your health slowly obliterated for 60 seconds while your situationally blind teammates get slowly overwhelmed because they won't take 6 seconds to just chuck a nade or magdump in your direction is a particular kind of painful. Same for when you're netted and you spend more than 10 full seconds just sitting there while opfor moseys on over to beat the tar out of you or throw a grenade at you. You can see through the walls that the player is trapped and prone why on earth are you still fencing 3 poxwalkers in an otherwise empty room.
@@Mosley728 At least that's usually unintentional. Someone may just hit a barrel by mistake when engaging enemies next to it, or they may just have a brain fart and forget that their ranged weapon does multiple shots per click (particularly an issue with psyker staffs running double shot on crit, I've both seen in others and experienced myself). On a couple of occasions I've also spectated people - who definitely would have been very embarrassed by it - who are trying to clutch and so they're panicking and mashing click, and they're doing this using a fast-attacking weapon like the knife and so accidentally hitting a barrel twice when they meant to hit it only once, downing themselves.
I love the new content! I guess I'm changing out my gunner resistance! 😅 I had no idea sliding let you avoid gunner damage even with your dodge limit out! Thanks for the super useful information!!
crazy to me people don't know this. I still think if you hate getting hit by gunners, its a viable pick. but i typically dont use it anymore either, sliding and slide dodging is goated
The thing about gunner resist is that there's a horde and you can't comfortably get to the gunners to kill them. They're spread out and some of them are far away. You're fine otherwise but these gunners constantly chip away your toughness. I've been running with 2xgunner resist for ages because I imagine that I would die in this situation. But I'll actually need to try what happens without them.
It's not like I've rigorously tested this, but my assumption would be that if you're in a situation that doesn't allow you to cheese slides to dodge the shots then gunner resistance is not really going to save you anyway. Sometimes you just have to accept when you are screwed and build into your strengths rather than trying to cover the potential bad situations.
I would say this: It's easier to think about gunner resist in terms of time. How much extra time does gunner resist allows you to get shot for? At different ranges, this will be different. If you already have one or more sources of damage reduction, gunner resist will give you diminishing returns. Think about what you're trying to accomplish by taking gunner resist. Then think about how much time this stat buys you. Is it worth it? Is it better than taking another stat? I don't know, you have to answer that for yourself.
Came back to say this vid was the final push I needed to convince me to get off my ass and convert all my curios on all my characters to 12% Combat Ability Reduction (I'd always run 5% health on all curios in addition to 5% toughness of course, as it "was universally helpful"). After a night of games I very very much notice the difference, and didn't notice the comparatively low small hit to health that I took.
Loving the Tanner Redemption Arc. It’s a great time to be encouraging and teaching new players. This vibe is much better (though I enjoyed your content before as well).
Thank you for this overview! I only recently found your videos but they've been really helpful and have made me a lot more confident in playing around with talent trees and different builds. It's helped me look at the different talent tree nodes and weapon blessings more critically so now when making a stupid build decision, I at least know it's stupid.
As much as I appreciate your current tone for providing content, I hope it won’t make u feel forced to do so, always getting angry is hard, always staying clam is also hard, making your content more convincing without losing your channel’s personality would be the most important thing rn
I can’t thank you enough for this video. I had so many toughness regeneration and max health perks just cause I thought they were a lot better. To bad I need to now waste a bunch of material to change them😢
Recently picked up this game and I have to admit looking around at some guides etc. I saw a lot of gunner damage resistance and I myself have fallen into that trap quite a bit. Been learning the dodge and slide tech and honestly have noticed needing that less and less the better I become and dodging and sliding. Found your channel via Mister E who I recently have started watching and greatly appreciate the guides and stat breakdowns.
Stamina Regen is my fave curio stat. Not only is it good for everyone, but it's a GOD STAT for precision vets who lean heavily into Deadshot for guaranteed headshot crits. Stamina Regen on curios + Duck & Dive + Target Down = endless stamina being turned directly into an insane damage boost for precision vets.
Thanks, this was a really informetive video. I had actually forgotten to update my curios in a year and was somehow completing auric maekstrom with bad curios XD gonna have to go redo my chatacter loadouts now and see how much i can optimize them!
One of your best videos so far and literally every Darktide player should watch it. Curios are one of the *biggest* blindspots for new and experienced players alike because of the fundamental misunderstanding of how the perks work and how they're practically applied.
On your note about Gold Toughness, I started out leveling Zealot and I leveled with Book for so long because of your videos, sure it's probably unneeded or overkill on Malice/Heresy which is where I was levelling mostly, but I never would've thought about how important it was if I didn't watch your videos getting into the game. It's funny that I didn't really because I played a lot of Mercenary and other THP generators in VT2 and really it's sort of the same deal, but not entirely. Now that I'm levelling Vet I practically autopathed STRAIGHT to shout for that exact reason, it's just so damn good having that extra safety net. Thanks so much for that tip, among all the others. Also it might sound silly but as much as I didn't mind how acerbic you could be in your previous videos it's genuinely nice seeing you calmer and more personable, I realize it can be quite difficult to do because I'm just Blunt The Human as far as me explaining things go so I realize it might be a challenge, but I'm glad you're trying all the same, better to try than not try at all and all that.
Thank you for changing as a person and being a bit more social so more people can benefit from your objective math based analysis of the game. Your thoughts were always golden, and now the content is much more palletable.
@1:04, i am a Shout Veteran thanks to your videos. Thank you for the new guide on Curios as neither of my 2 characters Curios are fully fleshed out yet. I am currently running for each, 1 stamina, 1 toughness, and 1 health. (Covering all bases but not really covering everything as i’m working at getting better at the game). The lesser nodes are easy to swap.
Damn fine video, clear and straight to the point too. Some things keep it mind for everyone when it comes to stacking perk percentages as the game calculates it multiplicative, meaning it benefits more towards lower values. With stacking 3, 4% Combat Ability Regen it'll roughly give 11.6%, I ""think"" the game rounds up with these values to being 12% anyways. While for example stacking 3, 20% for say damage resistance totals to 48.8% rounding to 49% instead of the additive 60% just another nail in the coffin for stacking gunner resistance. Also Toughness and Health percentages take place after any flat amount added from skill tree nodes netting more overall value.
13:13 To add to this, Flamers will stop what they are doing and try to reposition, much like gunners, if you can close the gap in time. Usually, at the distance flamers engage in if you react as soon as you hear them spooling up, you should have enough time to close the distance as long as there's no enemies between you and them. You'll want to charge towards the side of them instead of directly at them as the flames can stagger you.
thank you for the extensive guide! my darktide addiction right now is worse than any substance could ever be and this also means i need to educate myself about the mechanics of the game. i am very confident in running t5 missions (including maelstrom) and t4 auric missions, but i struggle with the 5 consecutive t5 maelstrom missions without dying and consuming endless amounts of content means that the next games could be the breakthrough.
I'm new to Darktide, only been playing for about a month now, coming from games like League and Overwatch, seeing there's a cdr option on curios, I instantly slapped that on all 3, I was very surprised that not everyone uses that, I've seen people run all sorts of random shit even in auric malestroms, then complaining about the game being dumb. Anyway, thanks for the video, subbed.
Ogryn Perspective. 200 Toughness let's us tank a Burster. Everything with a gun is a problem, but it's a problem that can be solved, and should not be accepted 😂
@icardias8639 because when people have a hard day they watch those youtubers and think 'well, at least I'm not that guy'. People come here for information Tanner provides and I have a feeling that's exactly what he wants to give. Being an occasional screeching jester is just a side effect.
the only class i take gunner res on is ogryn since hes so big that the random spread that causes them to miss some shots dosnt really apply since ogryn is so big but the sliding still helps alot but some weapons have such low dodge distance that once u got low on dodges you come to a crawl but taking 3 is overkill
Honestly, "Wounds" - to me - are a very unique "life system" that adds a lot of depth to Darktide without making it feel any harder to swim (or any easier, either) in terms of the game's difficulty and learning curves. The Zealot, in particular, literally does more damage based on how many Wounds he/she has and how many are empty (or full of purple stuph)! Personally, I love stacking Wounds when I want to deliberately force myself into dangerous encounters so that my teammates have better opportunities to pick off Elites, Specialists, etc.! (Yes, I basically will just run it down lane like Ogyrn Jenkins if it ensures that we can progress all the easier.) Stacking Stamina also helps for Guardsmen (thanks to Deadeye.) > Use a "Precise" or "Versatile" weapon > Personally prefers Lasguns, but it's up to you > Deadeye + Marksman's Focus will outright reward you for weak spot kills with shitloads of damage and more Stamina > Don't forget that melee is sometimes necessary for survival
I found you back when you posted your skill tree breakdowns for all the classes, fell in love with the sheer hatred you expressed for certain notes for good reasons. Ever since your videos are almost like eating cake, it’s so good but I feel so bad about some of the choices I made and the opinions I held on to regarding Darktide. Anyways besides the slop I just wrote it’s fun to see you grow up lol
While I do miss Angry coach Tanner, this is pretty nice. The information has always been there though. Tanner's builds and guides have helped my play immensely. New players - Listen to this man!
i've been preaching sprint efficiency for a while because it's effectively just the same as having more stamina at any given time. you don't need faster revives or more block efficiency or more stamina in total if you just always have more in reserve because you're not burning it in sprint as much.
a point you missed about wounds is corruption buildup while the argument of "simply don't go down" still stands - having 3 wounds is a really nice safety net. People not being able to res on higher difficulties isn't the hottest argument given the sources of invisibility or straight up invincibility two of the classes can have for clutch res in the most dire of situations or the same two classes have their massive shot abilities that can easily make the space for a res
This is big help. I never understood why most builds ran gunner resist over stam regen or sprint eff. I learned real quick especially on psyker that im not going to be face tanking and mobility is king.
4:34 - "virtually no class can get any form of health damage reduction" Ogryns and Zealots have general (that means health too) damage reduction nodes. Implacable + Feel no pain and Bleed for the Emperor + Shield of contempt.
Considering how tanner used to explain stuff in his older videos. @@TannerLindberg I was enjoying the language you used throughout. Almost all of your tangents on individual curio mechanics where primed with some variant of “I’m glad MY video on this stat or something related to this stat has had such a change on the community.” Like with such things as stamina, gunner resistances, usage on veterans shout, usage on zealots relic, combat ability recharge, ext. I’m saying it’s FUN to hear you take such direct credit for changing how people build their characters when this is one of the first vids I’ve seen of you and we’ve come to mostly the same conclusions. I’m not saying it’s bad, just that it made me smile throughout the vid. well to be fair my videos get tens of thousands of views? and in every single one i praise cdr HARD if you go back to when real asian robot was like the guy literally no build being posted then used it now they all do i think its not really ego to say i probably had a large impact on that?
@@TannerLindberg not sure who those other names are tbh, but it’s really hard to argue against ego when you start off the response with how many views you get on your vids. That’s an argument from authority that stems from egotistical thought. And again, ego isn’t bad, it’s neutral.
Great video! I double up on toughness over health, but tbh health loss has seemed even more volatile lately with the number of teammates that will blow up a flamer tank in your face. This is true even in Auric Maelstrom, the only counterplay is to either not play with people who hate your healthbar (ie, don't quickplay) or to not engage with flamers in melee. Orrrrr Fatshark could just fix flamer tank explosions so they don't bypass toughness, which I have heard is a glitch
I think flamers are really stupid right now and i cant tell you how many times i melee a flamer in the face or shoot them in the face and they somehow blow up. Pretty sure if anyone shoots them even with one bullet in the tank they blow up when you kill them no matter what. Never mins flamers warping fire through walls and around objects pretty bs if you ask me.
Ah, I feel validated. I've been telling my gf that this is roughly my curio stack for the past year, for many of these same reasons. I still run +1 wound even on Aurics, though, because careless smite/shield psykers, without fail, revive me on fire resulting in another wound instantly, which would instakill me if not for that wound.
3 x Combat Ability Regeneration 3 x Stamina Regeneration 2 x Sprint Efficiency 1 x Block Efficiency Or 1 x Sprint Efficiency 2 x Block Efficiency I'm taken 2 x Sprint more oftwn now, blocks don't happen much except when reviving someone and I only use the Combat Knife for dodge Ditance and Sprint Speed ao max survivability.
I took +1 wound once. When I was working on Maelstrom Survivor to protect myself to get rezzed in active fire. Those Ogryns are a bit TOO helpful sometimes. Technically Ogryns have a 20% Health DR innate. However they also have 20% Toughness DR. Through FatShark Spaghetti code those two actually stack multiplicatively on Toughness for a 36% Toughness DR on Ogryns making every Toughness point just so much more juicy. The 10% Revive Speed is actually 12%. They stack additivly up to 36%. Then they stack additively with Ogryns innate or with "Leave no one behind!" (20%) from the Veteran. So if you want you really can live out your full rez memes.
I 100% agree. He doesn't play Ogryn, so the agility isn't as great on him. Gunner Resistance is an absolute necessity on Ogryn. I'm literally over a 1000 lvl on him had lots of testing for sure. It's better to have than not have. You can get away with not having it on with other classes granted, but Ogryn is just too damn big! He's just built different.
@@0XFallen Gunner resistance all three & same with Stamina also Sprint efficiency. I found that Toughness Regeneration Speed is garage, imo. I will sometimes also run toughness or health on mine. I do either all 21% health to be a tanky/defensive FNP boy or all 17% Toughness on all three to be more of an attack Ogryn. Right now, I have 150 Toughness & 579 Health. I found for me having more Health is better because when I have 266 Toughness it was much slower to come back as apposed to 150 Toughness, which was really fast. I don't have data to back it just personal experience. My reasoning is that Ogryn gets toughness back almost instantly. When I have 266 toughness it took awhile even to get it back up it was a bit hard to do that for me. You can experiment to see what works best no right or wrong answers just play styles.I feel that when your toughness runs out there's so much chip damage to Ogryn that more Health IMO is better. Although people argue the meta is more Toughness which okay, but it's never helped me more than my massive pool of Health I can tank crazy amounts of damage & still be cool. Like clutching or taking crusher hits while in fire stuff like that while going for a res of a player just a random scenario. The Toughness isn't really much of a shield when you get down to a certain point with toughness after being hit you're still taking Health damage regardless is my reasoning. With Health you cannot regenerate it to stay alive.
I use stam 3x3 for increased burst dps on mk6 knife with push attack spam. If out of stam, I do pa>heavy loop on mk6 knife, if im going against hordes and dont need to use the stamina for burst pa>heavy loop. Light attack never used unless i do pa>special>light against enemies if my stamina bar is gone and needs single dps but usually just pa> heavy can be used to kill the entire map on zealot. My subperks are 3 cdr, 3 stam regen, 2 block 1 sprint. Since usually im ahead of everyone, most of the time and melee on horde with weapon spec on vet. My vet plays just like a zealot but with reload on melee kills.
controversial take, I believe which Curio you use really depends on the Mastery Tree and Mastery tree passives, this also extends to the perk choices on the Curio as well. A lot of people don't realise how make or break they can be for a build, they can mean the difference between constant toughness regeneration when in thick melee and getting knocked out because you didn't block instead. With that said, this is to do with your choice between +3 Stamina, or +17% Toughness these days. Health went from meta to now being situational, so situational, don't even think it is even used in any meta builds right now. Usually, depending on the build, you're either one Stamina, two Toughness Curio, or all Toughness, or all Stamina, it really does depend on the Masteries and your Weapons. Still, if you spot a +21% Health Curio in the shop, buy it even if you won't use it right now, because we don't know where the game will be balance wise in another 6 months and considering how rare +21% health curios show up on the shop, you should buy them. For Damnation Difficulty in Auric Maelstrom, I won't just say 12% combat ability refresh speed is better, I'd say it is downright *required*. It is the only possible way you can finish them with a group with zero deaths if you're after those converted title cards. By chaining your combat abilities one after the other for the toughness combat ability or for the stealth ability so you can backline or complete a QuickTime puzzle hack and with at least two veterans or zealots in the party, you can keep the toughness boost up 80% of the time with the cooldown reduction if you chain both one after the other, that is a big deal, it means you can survive an entire attack wave or successfully fight a boss during a wave without any toughness loss with at least one ultimate up at a time for the entire fight.
For ogyrn 3x +22% toughness is great, given you regen 20% toughness per hit from talents, and there's no need for max stamina on him. The charge ult has a really low cooldown already, probably not worth putting CD reduction on curios if you use that ult.
I'm still probably gonna run a gunner resistance on ogryn because I'm bad at the game and panic when clown cars of gunners pop up but I'm so glad people are catching onto the power of having your ultimate up so much. 4 shout vets screaming their way through missions is just so much silly Billy fun.
Fun thing is tanner start getting views because of his crazy ball to the wall attitute but i know people hates true personalitys and want to live in a world of lies, but i am happy since he can try to communicate with more people that way.
I tried this, on my Vet with a chain sword/bolt pistol, Yeah the extra toughness is nice, but I find myself needing the extra BCR stamina regen and 3 stam, more than than extra toughness. Going to try my Ogryn, think i run 3 hp curios on him tho lol. My psyker has always had extra toughness tho. Nice guide!
You dont stack health on ogryn you stack toughness and thats how you tank in this game. Playing low toughness ogryn is not the play anymore like it used to be. All the low toughness ogryns i see have their toughness shredded and instantly go down so all that health is worthless. Also as ogryn you are not always in a position to constantly regen toughness with melee enemies around and having higher toughness helps alot with chip damage. Every low toughness ogryn i see gets hit twice in melee or runs into gunners and gets their toughness destroyed and stunned to death and dies. No character should be stacking health because if you have toughness you arent taking health damage. I played with a 90 toughness 550 health ogryn the other day and he got insta destroyed downed and left the game because he thought stacking health was the move but he probably hasnt played in a year.
I've mained so much Ogryn that i've forgot all about the zealot tricks. so used to be able to slap around the ragers like they are trashmobs, but hey im not complaining, i like ogryn gameplay

Hey I appreciate your new chiller approach.
As an ogryn, taking off toughness regen and gunner resist, was the single biggest Plato's cave for me in this game.
I couldn't even believe how much of a placebo effect it had on me, and how little of a difference it actually makes. Now I'm a stamina regen and block efficiency cultist.
I'm here now. 3 toughness curio or 2 tough 1 health? Figuring I don't need a stam one with our base stamina and stam regen
/cringeover
its so crazy noticeable. I'm almost positive im blocked, i had a comment a while back disagreeing with him on uncanny on his vet build video, and it was literally one of the comments that popped off the "uncanny is trash and this is why" arc and made him make the video im pretty sure. So I think he has me blocked. I tested this when he was streaming one night and he was reading each comment, but NEVER would read any of mine, even if totally positive lol.
BUT im actually proud of him for taking criticism and trying. I also feel bad for him that he might be having to "change" what comes naturally to him, I can empathize. I've struggled with similar issues, I'm known too IRL as the guy who gets too passionate about something and starts ranting. But the sperg-lord mic-peaking edgelord personality just wins you no friends, and he comes across as a WAY more intelligent individual when he's not shrieking at you how right he is, and explains his thoughts with a calmer demeaner.
I like the new tanner arc
Tldr
Copypaste moar sillybilly
3:36 you said you were gonna try to be nicer in an earlier video and as a new viewer, that half second word choice made me laugh. You're by the numbers what works I'm glad I found your channel.
I've been running vet shout from the beginning, it's completely busted. Gold toughness for yourself and your team, really short base cooldown that can be made even shorter, knocks down everything around you in a huge radius and even staggers monstrosities...it's op. The community slept on it for a long time.
im glad when i made my everything about vet video i sucked it off hard
Dying to pox hounds is the most humiliating way to die in Auric Maelstrom.
Yup and your teammates don’t help you either
Watching your health slowly obliterated for 60 seconds while your situationally blind teammates get slowly overwhelmed because they won't take 6 seconds to just chuck a nade or magdump in your direction is a particular kind of painful. Same for when you're netted and you spend more than 10 full seconds just sitting there while opfor moseys on over to beat the tar out of you or throw a grenade at you. You can see through the walls that the player is trapped and prone why on earth are you still fencing 3 poxwalkers in an otherwise empty room.
What’s worse is when your teammate hits a barrel and you fly off the map
You are my favourite 5'4 femboy
I love the new content! I guess I'm changing out my gunner resistance! 😅 I had no idea sliding let you avoid gunner damage even with your dodge limit out! Thanks for the super useful information!!
crazy to me people don't know this.
I still think if you hate getting hit by gunners, its a viable pick.
but i typically dont use it anymore either, sliding and slide dodging is goated
Appreciate the video! It's nice to hear your calm tone.
Anyone remember the patch where fire could kill you in 1-2 seconds from full hp?
+9 stanima
With sprint eff stack in all of em too
Runningman
Real good for mailstorm
I always take 9 apartments.
Nice chill approach, won't even lie I definitely learned some things here as well. GG Tanner, keep it up!
Excellent info
I run similar talents for other classes with relatable success, but veteran truly shines with your info in mind
@@chumbucket5198 Thanks and you're welcome fren =)
Thanks, this was a really informetive video. I had actually forgotten to update my curios in a year and was somehow completing auric maekstrom with bad curios XD
gonna have to go redo my chatacter loadouts now and see how much i can optimize them!
Because of you, i decided to drop rez vs gunners, it actually helped my gameplay. Thank you
hey im really happy to hear that :D
This new content is good to listen to at work.
Also huge to see good guides come out since i came back after the docket and plasteel grind is over.
Absolutely banger information, straight to the point, keep this up and glad you found the motivation to update these videos.
Liking the softer spoken, calmer presentation. nice work
Such a good video, probably some of your best work mate, thanks
+ ordos
my cash mountain will be insurmountable.
This is why I'm subbed to your channel. Great video Tanner!
This was the first video of yours I was able to actually watch no crazy tism rant just a normal info dump
One of your best videos so far and literally every Darktide player should watch it.
Curios are one of the *biggest* blindspots for new and experienced players alike because of the fundamental misunderstanding of how the perks work and how they're practically applied.
I’ve been waiting for a video like this as a I feel like the curio I’m running with aren’t useful anymore. Also I really like the consistent uploads
I run 2 x stam and 1 x toughness on my shroud zealot, but I've been running toughness regen on at least 2 of them since day 1. Eye opener! Cheers dude
Looking forward to build updates since the psyker video. Curio video also very welcomed
Thank you for the great advice and all the good vibes 😊
Wow, a good quality content with a correct presentation ? You're doing great thank you a lot !
It's a valid Curio choice, still is good
Damn fine video, clear and straight to the point too.
From Patch 1.0.22: "Fixed issue where the 'Toughness Regeneration Speed' Curio only gave a bonus to the Toughness Regeneration delay of Coherency."
thank you for the extensive guide! my darktide addiction right now is worse than any substance could ever be and this also means i need to educate myself about the mechanics of the game. i am very confident in running t5 missions (including maelstrom) and t4 auric missions, but i struggle with the 5 consecutive t5 maelstrom missions without dying and consuming endless amounts of content means that the next games could be the breakthrough.
Super helpful thanks man, just getting back into the game and this is perfect
Ogryn Perspective. 200 Toughness let's us tank a Burster. Everything with a gun is a problem, but it's a problem that can be solved, and should not be accepted 😂
A lot less hostile, I do miss it a bit but you will definitely attract more people I think lol 😂
People prefer lies than personalitys , Sad human Nature.
@@icardias8639 Nobody likes people with lack of self control. Who could`ve guessed.
@@TinyGreyOwl explain why lowtiergod , darksidephil and ALL screamings RUclipsrs have a Lot of followers?
@icardias8639 because when people have a hard day they watch those youtubers and think 'well, at least I'm not that guy'.
People come here for information Tanner provides and I have a feeling that's exactly what he wants to give. Being an occasional screeching jester is just a side effect.
the only class i take gunner res on is ogryn since hes so big that the random spread that causes them to miss some shots dosnt really apply since ogryn is so big but the sliding still helps alot but some weapons have such low dodge distance that once u got low on dodges you come to a crawl but taking 3 is overkill
#JustOgrynProblems
Doesn't it have massively diminishing returns anyway? Having 3x15% gunner resistance isn't 45%, but something like 21%
@@padmad3832 it's 1-(0.85*0.85*0.85) for the damage mod. This equates to -38.6% damage from three 15% curios, or -48.8% damage from three 20% curios.
(Yes, I basically will just run it down lane like Ogyrn Jenkins if it ensures that we can progress all the easier.)
Stacking Stamina also helps for Guardsmen (thanks to Deadeye.)
> Use a "Precise" or "Versatile" weapon
> Personally prefers Lasguns, but it's up to you
> Deadeye + Marksman's Focus will outright reward you for weak spot kills with shitloads of damage and more Stamina
> Don't forget that melee is sometimes necessary for survival
I found you back when you posted your skill tree breakdowns for all the classes, fell in love with the sheer hatred you expressed for certain notes for good reasons.
Ever since your videos are almost like eating cake, it’s so good but I feel so bad about some of the choices I made and the opinions I held on to regarding Darktide.
Anyways besides the slop I just wrote it’s fun to see you grow up lol
6:05 "Let's say 4 (of 4) people go down in an auric maelstrom and you revive 2 of them" I see someone be playing as the game director itself xD.
I've never seen any videos on this channel before but now I'm obsessed with universal healthcare in 40k.
I think tanner deserves at least a once-a-week rant video for sanity's sake
Good boy I like that your speaking softer now, much nicer 😊😊
This is exactly what I was looking for, I felt like I was so outta the loop for curios.
As a newish player who just hit lvl 30 with my first 2 characters, let me tell you that your videos are great and help a lot. Thanks.
While I do miss Angry coach Tanner, this is pretty nice. The information has always been there though. Tanner's builds and guides have helped my play immensely. New players - Listen to this man!
Genuinely happy you're making changes for the better. From one angry femboy to another, kudos.
Keep these coming my boii I am really enjoying these updated darktide videos. I'd like to see weapons tier lists and talent paths soon
i've been preaching sprint efficiency for a while because it's effectively just the same as having more stamina at any given time. you don't need faster revives or more block efficiency or more stamina in total if you just always have more in reserve because you're not burning it in sprint as much.
a point you missed about wounds is corruption buildup
while the argument of "simply don't go down" still stands - having 3 wounds is a really nice safety net.
Tanner redemption arc in full swing. ❤
4:34 - "virtually no class can get any form of health damage reduction"
Ogryns and Zealots have general (that means health too) damage reduction nodes. Implacable + Feel no pain and Bleed for the Emperor + Shield of contempt.
This ''nice'' Tanner feels uncanny somehow..
strikes as uncanny
... strikes
Considering how tanner used to explain stuff in his older videos. Having him talk in a calm, composed and friendly manner reminds me of having a wild and out going cat, then castrate the said cat and take his balls away which in process makes him calmer and less aggressive. It’s a funny transformation to observe lol
Great and informative video as always tho, thx for putting this out for the community
Good stuff. The older video helped me as a new player even if it's "outdated"
I love how often I got to hear things I’ve been doing forever on my own get credited to you’re vids I’ve never watched lol
You’ve certainly got ego befitting the position you’re in.
Im not even sure what you are trying to say? I didn't create the games meta or even find most of it. I just try to post what it is.
And what do you mean by ego? I don't think these videos could be less egotistical
And you do speak with the ego of someone who knows what they’re talking about and is used to being right, which both ISN’T a bad thing and IS befitting of a RUclipsr who does deeper meta analysis of a games mechanics.
I hope that cleared my original comment up a little lol, sorry if it came off a bit too spicy and thank you for the response.
well to be fair my videos get tens of thousands of views? and in every single one i praise cdr HARD if you go back to when real asian robot was like the guy literally no build being posted then used it now they all do i think its not really ego to say i probably had a large impact on that?
I never knew that sliding made gunners not hit you at all. That is going to changes so much for my survival.
Good to hear that Tanner is taking good meds
Health curios are good in pubs cause people still blow up barrels and poxbursters or even flamers in your face all the time, even in auric
I like one health curio on psyker and veteran
Ah, I feel validated. I've been telling my gf that this is roughly my curio stack for the past year, for many of these same reasons.
I still run +1 wound even on Aurics, though, because careless smite/shield psykers, without fail, revive me on fire resulting in another wound instantly, which would instakill me if not for that wound.
Excellent video as always!
Maelstrom - “mayl-struhm”
Martyrdom - “mar-ter-dumb”
Balls to the wall +9 stamina , 3x sprint , block , steam regen is now acceptable in polite society.
It's nice seeing the calm and collected tanner, at the same time, I very much enjoy the unhinged version aswell.
3 x Combat Ability Regeneration
3 x Stamina Regeneration
2 x Sprint Efficiency
1 x Block Efficiency
Or
1 x Sprint Efficiency
2 x Block Efficiency
I'm taken 2 x Sprint more oftwn now, blocks don't happen much except when reviving someone and I only use the Combat Knife for dodge Ditance and Sprint Speed ao max survivability.
God damn, our angry femboy goblin Tanner be usually just screaming, i legit had to turn the volume up, man be going through the wholesome arc.
wow, tanner sounds well adjusted. Pro video.
W guide. I didn't even know about the combat ability regeneration, and I still thought toughness Regen was good
I took +1 wound once.
Gonna be honest I miss angry tanner but this is probably better to get people to listen.
I would argue gunner resistance is beneficial on Ogryn when you're trying to face tank the entire hallway to include the Melee chaff
He's just built different.
what curios do you run, sah?
*Stamina > Toughness > Health*
Toughness shouldn't be affected until Stamina is depleted if the player is blocking and dodging like they should be.
Tanner channeling his internal Jctlive
The real uncanny strike was the calm tanner all along.
