I carry a CRKT CEO with me to work every day. They're super nice (and super cheap) and come razor sharp out of the box. Perfect for opening plastic parts bags and boxes.
Mine arrived not very sharp. I was disappointed but didn't correct it and recently either lost it or misplaced it. Here looking for a different one to replace it with since not sharp outbof the box.
I've never really been a knife guy most of my life but last year I picked up and started carrying an Opinel no.7. Then I saw someone carrying an Otter Messer Mercator and fell in love with that. Last week I got the CRKT CEO (thumb stud) I keep it in my shirt pocket next to my pen. I LOVE that little tool. I'd consider the CRKT as a "gentleman's knife." it's very non-threatening and nobody takes a second look at it. I like that.
Well that's awesome, and I hope you get even more involved it's a great community of people regardless your budget, and there's a lot of amazing blades out there that would fit your purpose perfectly
Damn what a great knife channel. Started collecting about 2 years ago, mainly vintage daggers but I like to offer new knives to my friends and family. You have so much enthusiasm and good taste that you have become one of my favourites to watch. Keep the good work, greetings from France !
I always carry an Olitans wherever I go. They're a small, sleek and easy to pocket. The jade G10 handle is a beaut and the D2 steel is good enough. Always fun popping it out whenever I am helping out my fellow co-workers unboxing a package or cutting a thread.
I have a couple CEOs which are real nice for the price! The action on both is butter smooth! Both the flipper version. They really do look like a pen in the shirt pocket, but come in handy when you need a little edge at the office! 👍
I got a lot of knives and I have two samior GP035'S, one with aluminum scales and another with the snakewood handles. They are my favorite EDC knife. Great for the price.
Nice overview of these knives, thanks! I have one of the CKRT CEO knives, the earlier thumb stud version. I really wanted to like it be cause I do like the shape, the blade seems fine and the clip seems plenty sturdy. But, I just do not like how it opens--the liner lock is not a problem for me to use--I just didn't feel like I had enough control of the knife while trying to open the thing. That flipper version, however, looks like it might work much better for me. Going to need to try one I guess. The shape of all these reminds me of the doctor's knife pattern. But better since these lock open. When I decide to replace/supplement my current daily( a Kershaw Chive), I will definitely be looking at a couple of these. Probably the Boker and the CKRT and, maybe, the Samior. Thanks for showing these to us!
I have the Exarch and both CEO's. I like them all the locks on the CEO's have a learning curve and they really shouldn't be named the same the blade is longer on the flipper. The Exarch was my first front flipper and when my wife wanted me to tune up one of her blades I showed her the Chronic and she jumped on it.
A little help with your French: De L'Orme sounds like "Deh lorm", not "dee lah orm ay". You can put a little inflection at the end, like "lormah", but you can sort of just ignore that e, and it will sound more correct that pronouncing it as é. Orme means elm, as in the tree, I think the full name means "by the elm", but I don't really know. A hint for pronouncing foreign names before you make a vid, throw them in Google translate and hit the little speaker button to hear an audio clip of the pronunciation :)
@@NeevesKnives My pleasure, mate! You have good reviews, figured you'd like to get stuff as right as you can, even though it's just a small thing. @@tylermcgurk4576 Yes, because unfortunately I don't speak French or any other language fluently, I've just picked up little bits and pieces, so I used it to check if what I thought was correct. Definitely no expert, but you're either someone who cares about at least trying to get it right, or you think it doesn't matter and you have a right to butcher other people's languages due to your ignorance of them. Personally I at least like to try. With RUclipsrs, they are broadcasting to the entire world, so I would think that they would automatically want to try as well, although I know a few who make their useless pronunciation of anything foreign into a running joke at their own expense, which also works, heh.
Love your ceo-ish knives bro. The style is really catching on. Even buck makes a couple that are inexpensive, but give off that ceo vibe. They are the 253 and the 255. The 253 is kinda going for the higher end look by using some chris reeve colours. And the 253 is just a nice looking slender knife with a beautifully shaped handle with suttle curves. Check them out. Only have 7cr17 chinesium though.
Good picks as always! I've been rockin a Böker BZ Urban Trapper w/ coco wood for about the last 3 yrs. It's a really good suit knife, but I'm not doin any hard work with it. It is what it is, and suit knives are normally not hard users.
@@NeevesKnives but the weird thing is any fixie, even a small fixie is more trusty than a folder at those dementions. But they don't make office friendly fixed blades

For me, the best thing to call these to not scare people, is a "letter opener." They ask "Oh what's that in your pocket" when you say "It's a knife" they tremble because they probably are thinking of bigger, outdoorsy, "weapon". If you say "It's a letter opener" they think of an old office, something small and plain, and aren't as scared
Your knives look to be a very good value and I like the sleekness of many of them. I just wished you would incorporate a reversible clip. It's not difficult and the entire LH community would appreciate it.
What I like about the ceo is that you can throw it in a bundle of sharpies and pens like more classical fountain pens. But it does stand out. It requires someone with knowledge of a knife in the pile, cup, bundle, pocket, and so on to see the knife. But your knife won’t get lost in the crowd of non weapons that it will be seen when needed. But I know that a couple in the lineup looked like a pen. I think the ceo is more open about it being a knife while still being extremely discrete, while there are others that are a exactly a pen/marker look alike. I really like that one with the wire clip, it looks like one of my lami safari pens. I’m probably going to get one of the ones that looks like I’d loose it and accidentally bring it some place it shouldn’t be in a stack of pens lol. Idk, it’s like the ideal concealment. The most comforting one, being that you put it right in front of someone’s eyes and 1/200 people will see its real essence as a knife in an office or pocket, let alone the 1/50 of those people who might have the confidence or lack of self doubt to point it out or report it.
I’m no CEO but am drawn to the fox chnops in Damascus kinda in the same vein as this lot. Now if I was a CEO I’d buy an antique tanto and employ a butler to pass me it every time I needed to open some mail or dispatch a bad employee 😃
Interesting, large variety to choose from, I never knew there was so many types of knife, but I'm glad, I'd buy a couple for different roles, but which 2, that's the question, I'd have fun deciding
Jerad, I believe both CRKT CEO's are FRN, not G10. I may be mistaken though because they are very close in feel to G10. I love that Titanium version!!!
They all look nice, i just want to make sure the steel is strong and not brittle, I have a Deer Knife from 1938 that my Grandfather gave my Dad and my Dad gave to me its still dangerously sharp, and ive only had to sharpen it a couple times in 50 years
During christmas and throughout the year, i wear a suit for special occasions. I cannot legally carry a gun yet, so i carry a knife with me. Right now i have a 6 inch fixed tonto blade in my coat pocket. Im looking at getting a switch blade which is less bulky and quick to deploy.
Can I also suggest the Real Steel G5 Metamorph Blade HQ exclusive? Usually 40 bucks but you can sometimes get it on sale for 30. Sandvik steel and G10 with either a plain or black blade. Great video, sir!
i went a little ocd on my ceo ! took the dremmel and made an access indent to disengage. much better now. probably wouldn't have done it with a more expensive knife.....
Definitely pleased enough to haven't been able to stop flipping it. Really wasn't expecting size, thought hand was bigger? Something.... Only complaint is pivot is not flush and my fingers could probably get cut because of no backspacer
I'm waiting to get my Boker Kwaiken Air's in the mail. I ordered both of the "blackout" sizes. I was expecting to see them on this video. I gifted a Samior pocket knife for a friend, albeit the cheapest one, but it did come with the leather slip as well. He was pleasantly suprised and happy with it. I'm debating on whether to purchase the the CEO blackout version as well, but I'm not particularly fond of the tip-up carry clip. I would love it if someone would make a blackout ceo style knife with black micarta and a S-35VN steel or something comparable in quality. Tip-up carry of course. Or a really dark Damascus blade would scream with class, IMHO. Great video clip.
My top pick is missing: the MKM Flame, specifically the dagger style blade version for me. A lot of different versions available, I guess the full sandwashed titanium would be the best gentleman's/CEO version, but if you are more into the tactical looking stuff there are also black coded titanium ones and carbon fiber variations available.
Ive been searching for all CEO style knives since it seems like not only is EVERYONE making one, but MOST brands making multiple models that all basically look like CEO!? I also find it pretty funny that all though CRKT didn’t create it, they sure seem to be the ones to have made it so popular!! I mean even Buck makes the Cavalier for this year…anyways I’ll get back to y’all with what I find to be the best one for money!!
Yeah I'm sure there's some well made pen knives or ceo style, crkt could've done it far better I just can't get over how difficult it is to unlock, I found a few interesting ones on Amazon, and the samior ones are pretty decent I found a few other brands that were more money but looked very similar but could've been far better idk
Yeah I think the materials are probably real, it's not a big piece of m390 and they probably heat treat it to 57 if you know what I mean, they do a massive batch all at once so your going to get what you pay for buy for the money I don't think you can complain
Excellent video on a style I have been interested in but never seen anything I particularly jumped on. I like the Boker but ESPECIALLY like the Samior brown carbon fiber or black titanium with black blade. I might have to punch it on that one. Thank you!!
@@NeevesKnives Thanks Jerad! I ordered the Samior on Amazon via your link. Thanks for providing that in the description. Looking forward to trying it out and will check out more Bokers as well 👍🏼👍🏼
Hey. great vid and a dumb question, but is there a way for me to buy one of the knives from you? The boker kansei green micarta specificaly. Probably not, just asking becaouse I would very much like to have one, if the price would make sense. Thanks!
@@NeevesKnives okay Prada black, creed green Irish tweed, Issey miyake pour home encense(sooo good) Just a few that you can still find. I think I have well over a hundred myself. 9 years sober but still compulsive 😁
Guess what I just got in the mail Jerad? A CJRB Cutlery Crag Flipper cleaver in AR-RPM9 with some nice looking carbon fiber handles. Problem is is that I didn't order the AR-RPM9 steel, I ordered D2, but it came in a D2 marked box and I went to sharpen it and went, "This ain't D2 it's too doggone soft!" That's when it dawned on me that the serial number on the blade WAS the freaking steel as they have a version of the CJRB Crag in AR-RPM9! It Was in the wrong box! Whether I sharpened it or not it's going back, this is some crappy soft steel and I want D2 for my first cleaver. Thought you might think that it's funny.
RPM9 is a good steel and strops back great. I understand it feeling soft thinking you got D2 though. My D2 Talla is sharp as can be. Love it. They do a good job on their D2.
@@NeevesKnives Like my 12C28N steel, but it says Steel after the designation. This Crag has the serial number like this on the right side of the blade, one over the other. "Ser J1904" "AR-RPM9" I was looking for D2, but didn't see it, OK my Bear Ops doesn't have the 12C28N mark on it either and this is my first CJRB knife so I don't know. I would guess that someone switched knives around in their boxes as this RPM stuff is more expensive than D2. A disgruntled employee perhaps? I wouldn't complain if it was a better steel than D2, but except for being stainless it really isn't as I'm looking for edge retention. It's just particle sprayed 9Cr18MoV as far as I can tell after looking it up. Would've been cool if it was CPM 154CM, wouldn't complain about that, would not even mention it.
@@MountainFisher I'm personally not a fan of cpm154, but I like 154cm, but I agree aside from better stain resistance, your not getting as good of edge retention, however I do think the edge retention is a bit better than regular 9cr but still not as good as d2, I mean if it's done well, from my experience their d2 hasn't been bad, not as good as some but not as bad as many it's been pretty decent, although I do know some folks that had not so good experiences but guess that can go for most companies
I prefer a much thinner, light weight, knife, polished to a silky smooth finish, and a blade with good edge retention. I have difficulty finding anything suitable. Currently I carry a SOG money clip knife, hand polished, with the clip removed.
I have the Boker Kyoto, Very good in this category , blade is totally covered , it's very thin lightweight , thin sharp blade , only the clip is not very easy for a jeans more like for a suit style of shirt pocket , gentlemen style lol , also great to have around while in the kitchen or for eating a fat piece of steak 😆
Own both CEO styles, thumb stud was the first released I think, and a Boker. I also have a Civivi Justin Lundquist Lumi Front Flipper, G10, same deep, carry clip style as CEO. Shorter though and I just can’t master the front flip. Very discreet little knife though.

Good info and I'm glad you show price at the time and a screen shot. But why TF do you run your fingers down the cutting edge of the knife so much? Did you dull them? They don't cut you

19k! great video
🥳 🎉 🪅 🎊
During christmas and throughout the year, i wear a suit for special occasions. I cannot legally carry a gun yet, so i carry a knife with me. Right now i have a 6 inch fixed tonto blade in my coat pocket. Im looking at getting a switch blade which is less bulky and quick to deploy.
The Civivi Lund quiet is also excellent in this category
I prefer the Civivi Chronic to the Exarch
Can I also suggest the Real Steel G5 Metamorph Blade HQ exclusive? Usually 40 bucks but you can sometimes get it on sale for 30. Sandvik steel and G10 with either a plain or black blade. Great video, sir!
That's a good choice, but personally I like the Ruike P865 since it is lighter and about the same price.
Yeah metamorph almost made the video
@@knifenexus9522 I’m still yet to buy a Ruike but I’ve heard nothing but good things about them.
I want one of those Boker knives for edc. Might get one in a month, cause it's pretty stealthy, and has good quality.
Love my CEO
i went a little ocd on my ceo ! took the dremmel and made an access indent to disengage. much better now. probably wouldn't have done it with a more expensive knife.....
good picks
4:40 gorgeous one
this is all the blade you need for a edc
I friggin love my CRKT CEO
Am bummed, was expecting to be playing with my new knife today. But NOOO.... somehow it's late.
Great vid as always.
I hate when that happens
Um, wow.... it was unboxing day and I'm kinda stunned.
Dammit I'm all in now. Blaming you guys for my next order.
Civivi, Twosun, Kizer and a Ruike
@@willowsmutt8313 😆 🤣 hope your 😊
Definitely pleased enough to haven't been able to stop flipping it.
Really wasn't expecting size, thought hand was bigger? Something....
Only complaint is pivot is not flush and my fingers could probably get cut because of no backspacer
Lmfao i love the last one how you left the first attempt but forgot what it was called in the video lol then take 2 hahaha awesome brother
Lol
Check out the Boker version imo it's much better
My top pick is missing: the MKM Flame, specifically the dagger style blade version for me. A lot of different versions available, I guess the full sandwashed titanium would be the best gentleman's/CEO version, but if you are more into the tactical looking stuff there are also black coded titanium ones and carbon fiber variations available.
Yeah that's a sweet one as well 👊
Ive been searching for all CEO style knives since it seems like not only is EVERYONE making one, but MOST brands making multiple models that all basically look like CEO!? I also find it pretty funny that all though CRKT didn’t create it, they sure seem to be the ones to have made it so popular!! I mean even Buck makes the Cavalier for this year…anyways I’ll get back to y’all with what I find to be the best one for money!!
Yeah I'm sure there's some well made pen knives or ceo style, crkt could've done it far better I just can't get over how difficult it is to unlock, I found a few interesting ones on Amazon, and the samior ones are pretty decent I found a few other brands that were more money but looked very similar but could've been far better idk
I really like the look of the Samior! If the materials are "true", what a great value!! ✌️
Yeah I think the materials are probably real, it's not a big piece of m390 and they probably heat treat it to 57 if you know what I mean, they do a massive batch all at once so your going to get what you pay for buy for the money I don't think you can complain
@@NeevesKnives I might have to pick one up!
Excellent video on a style I have been interested in but never seen anything I particularly jumped on. I like the Boker but ESPECIALLY like the Samior brown carbon fiber or black titanium with black blade. I might have to punch it on that one. Thank you!!
Yeah the samior knives are pretty good, and I'm really liking the boker, it's very snappy and slicey
Thanks!
Most companies try to make there version of the CRKT CEO flipper but are way overpriced. It's nice the CRK CEO Flipper is just $40. Can't beat that 😂
I just picked up the f-22 kickstop. Id argue to say that it’s a gentle men’s knife.
i love the f22 and you could def carry it as a gent knife
@@NeevesKnives yes actually it’s your fault I bought it. But I’m happy I did 😁
@ilovefragrances5968 so what's a couple of your favorite fragrances, I think I've got over a 100 fragrances atm
@@BrandonGavin_EDC This stuff is soft, either the edge was burned or the heat treat was wrong. I've had 9Cr18MoV harder than this crap.
😆 🤣 😂 that Is funny, and if the damn steel didn't look so much like a serial #
@@NeevesKnives Like my 12C28N steel, but it says Steel after the designation. This Crag has the serial number like this on the right side of the blade, one over the other.
"Ser J1904"
"AR-RPM9"
I was looking for D2, but didn't see it, OK my Bear Ops doesn't have the 12C28N mark on it either and this is my first CJRB knife so I don't know.
The best knife it's just a sharp piece of metal
Eu como sou brasileiro e não tenho acesso à essas marcas vou de canivete Caneta LAN. É o que dá pra ter.
I like the last one myself. However, I went with a Deejo knife. It isn't the exact same style as these, but I'd still call it a CEO style knife.
Yeah I Definitely like some of the boker models
Own both CEO styles, thumb stud was the first released I think, and a Boker. I also have a Civivi Justin Lundquist Lumi Front Flipper, G10, same deep, carry clip style as CEO. Shorter though and I just can’t master the front flip. Very discreet little knife though.
Just started watching your channel, I'm enjoying your straight to the point, practical, honest, sensible approaches. Which of these would provide better secure grip?
Probably the Kizer de lorme or the Boker kansei and thank you 🙏
I use my HALO VI as a ceo knife. ;)
Muito bom os canivetes, favor colocar o valor na tela. Obrigado.
you should look at MKM Flame Dagger, and you will be amazed!
The zieba ms3 or the production version, mkm flame, are also good CEO gentlemen carry as well!
Good info and I'm glad you show price at the time and a screen shot.
But why TF do you run your fingers down the cutting edge of the knife so much? Did you dull them? They don't cut you
Hope ya not buttoning up that very top button on ya button up shirt big dogg? Coz thats a Neddy no, no.
I have CRKT CEO top flipper, I have it in my backpack everyday, great action, great pocket clip, great look, great price.
GREATER VID mate keep em up!!!!
I can't stand the lock bar access on the ceo
@@NeevesKnives So true mate, in my opinion if it waz any bigger it would look out of place with the knife.
Same prob with the Civivi Lazar I just got, no chance lock bars flopping stink.
Perrwovde and rs, I like
BANG! First!!! LOL!

Nice Nice
How to buy Samior in Switzerland?
Can you tell if the samior clip is reversible?
I believe the site says it's ambidextrous
What have you done to me??! I watched your excellent channel and I thought mmm I'd like a Ganzo, it's cheap and nice. Then I got a cold steel and a Spyderco and I've 6 in 6 weeks. I'm a collector and vaping mods is the one that I was doing. I need to get a knife sharpening kit....
😆 🤣 welcome to the rabbit hole, where people come for the knives and stay for the community and people. Glad to hear you have a great collection going. 👊
