After loads of blank sessions on my local bit of the L&L canal I was over that way with the family at the weekend, so thought I'd take a couple of rods do a little detour to try here. They wouldn't touch a spinner for some reason but we had loads on a small shad. It was a good confidence booster for me, and more importantly, great fun for my kid for an hour or so. On the flip side it just shows how bad the canals have got in some places.
Nice video BOB'S & TOM 🎣👍. The best time to catch big Perch ( 3lb + ) here in 🇨🇦 , is ice fishing. My P.B in Ontario was 4lb 7oz 😃. Cos using a small spinner or a small swim bait , you just catch trout, pikeminows & the actual kokanee trout. Especially here in B.C 🇨🇦.
Cant beat ice fishing in Ont on Lake Simcoe. Went a few years ago for lake trout on big bay point and roaches point for jumbo perch. Sadly didn't catch Northern Pike or walleye even tried the river up north can't recall the name thou... I was using half a minow or a quarter on a hook and they were smashing them and not touching live ones!!! Give it a go on a simple paternoster rig 🐟
