    What an enjoyable video....
    I've taken fishing up after a dozen years and have been catching some Perch on small jigs (prior to the heavy rain and the ridiculous cold snap we had in the UK....
    Saying that, I bought some small Perch spinners earlier today to get back to that retro feel, as I used to catch Perch and Pike regularly on spinners back in the '70's when I were just a teenager !!! Looking forward to trying the method again as it works.
    As for fluorocarbon leaders, I picked up some of those Fox ones you use a few weeks ago and another "must try" bit of kit..
    I've subscribed now.

      Thank you for subscribing Steve top man! Should hopefully have some great content coming your way with the spinner making a big appearance!! Smashing lure and does the job, sometimes we get caught up in all the new razmotaz in fishing when the old stuff works just as good! Thank you again Steve all the best!

    If you're just planning on catching pike .60mm fluoro is enough, all around fishing 0.45 copolymer mono is perfect caught plenty of 8kg pikes just gotta remember to retie every now and then.

    Now then buddy. Hope everything is good in the hood with you and the family. Cracking video young man and some lovely fish. Love that stripey!!! Just awesome. I always use of fluorocarbon leader and now and again I will use a wire trace. I think I’ve been bitten off maybe twice in all the years I’ve been fishing for perch when a pike has come along and when I do catch a pike I replace the leader if there is any signs of damage. Keep the videos coming young man and all the best 👍🏽🎣👍🏽🎣

      2 gram Rublex Celtas work for me, although I have my best results, with both Chub and Perch, using 2gram Rublex Celta Turbos and 2 gram Rublex Veltics. I now routinely replace the trebles on these spinners with Matzuo Sickle Siwash singles.

    • @japanesefishingadventures
      @japanesefishingadventures  Год назад

      Haha mate don’t worry at all! So I try and by spinners with single hooks! But the new rigged and ready ones are single hooked and are actually designed to be weedless - you can also interchange between trebles and singles pretty easily without smashing the barbs off haha! Not a sales plug genuinely superb bit of kit! Ironically I am using a vibrax one there you can change those but it is fiddly!! ☺️
      Ps use RRBA10 for 10% off 🫡 you’ll thank me later!

      Totally agree with you and that was sort of the point! Old school spinners and spoons still work well! The ‘hack’ is using single hooked spinners rather than trebles. Single hook you can slowly bring it through the weed without ruining the movement! Hack might be a bit strong I won’t lie!
      Would also add you’d be surprised how many people have messaged me after this video because they’ve only targeted Perch on softbaits!!!( MAD!)
      Albeit I would add it is a RUclips title and sometimes you have to sacrifice a bit of pride, there’s something about the word Hack that sends the RUclips algorithm crazy 😂

    Fluorocarbon leaders should not be used if there are pike around . No matter the thickness they can and do bite through it with ease resulting in potentially slow death from starvation due to not being able to eat

    • @japanesefishingadventures
      @japanesefishingadventures  9 месяцев назад

      When it’s an 80ib fluro leader you’re pretty sound pal and in fact. Fox, savage gear and Rozemiejer all make them specifically for this very reason. The ones I were using here were savage gear rejuvenator traces!
      In fact those exact traces worked for landing a 80-90ib Spinner shark in Florida and you could see the teeth abrasion on the leader and how they held up! Should look into them pal, been rather taken by them ! Thanks for your comments.

    catch and release nonsense, these fin sadists make me ashamed to be grouped together with them as anglers. Fish for your needs or f off, this is just torturing animals for fun ... disgusting.
    Also Perch, very much like Pike, bite on pretty much anything with the right scale for their size ... spoons, spinner or rubber throughout the entire day ... all it takes is finding the spots where they are. If you cant catch perch during the day you simply dont understand where they are at these times or are too unwilling to move your a**.
