The classic spinner is the bait I use at least 90% of the time when I fish everything (except Pike). Reflex Red with silver/copper spoon 12g is my all time best but my current best is a Nils Master Lotto Spinner, color 005 9g
My number one lure for perch: spinner spoon with single hook and curly tail trailer or spinner spoon with dressed treble hook, no. 2 paddle tail swimbait.

To keep it fun, I advice beginners to throw small lures, up to 7 centimeters and also start at small venues! Find the school of perch fish and catch a lot! Find the paterns where they hang out and what type of lures work, where and when and how to retrieve. When confident graduately move up in size.

I still have the first lure I bought, a silver plated perch colored rapala team esko. Had caught dozens of fish, and I gave it a new coat of varnish. Won't be using that one anymore, it still has its box and a black and white rapala booklet. Its probably 20 years old by now. Losing lures now is just an excuse to go shopping for more lures.

not my personal best, but I got this new spoon lure, cast twice in the sea, caught a näbbgädda. cast again, another näbbgädda. Passed the rod to a friend (my fault, never give a beginner a rod with spinning lure and a rocky bottom), lure stuck, lure lost. I was quite disappointed because it was going so smooth with that specific lure that day. Tried a couple ones same shape, different colours, nothing baited for the entire day.
Replacement arrived!By the way, I did forget to mention that the original lure did have a decent strike however as most anglers will attest you can get a hit ruclips.net/user/postUgkxCbNOWAGmn6nfbCbJDmasvBq7J38KZNw2 and fish will hang on and release lure. I used the replacement lure yesterday and ran thru a Shimano Waxwing, Kastmaster, Bobber (set to sink). I found the does run deep (I casting on the flats 3.5'). Make sure you adjust your rate of retrieve and rod tip angle (up) to prevent getting snagged on bottom. Used it a couple of times and action was very lifelike (looked like local bait fish for trevally), craftsmanship very good....however eyeball fell out. I asked for replacement and it is on it's way! It was very easy to change out treble to single inline hook.

Worst moment was loosing a 3d savage gear roach caught my pb pike on it. I cast out got a back lash, the bait swung round and went straight in a large river bank hedge 😫
Last night I was fishing my rattling swim bait, slow sinker, and I caught 2 walleye, when something else ate my lure. Snapped my line like nothing at 12 lb test. I am wondering if it was a huge musky because I was fishing a perch spot, but thats way bigger than the perch in the area by far.
I was fishing where it was 4-5m deep with a minnow wobbler and got caught in some kind of rope that was stuck on the bottom, and the rope was to deep for me to reach and cut off
MY STORY: In the last summer I used a herring lure to catch mackreel and cod-like fish, I actually caught 16 in one fishing trip, but suddenly the line broke, that was when I lost my favorite lure, first and only time

It wasn’t expensive but I had an uncountable amount of perch and pike on my trusty Luminous yellow spinner and I lost it on my most successful peg on a snag I wasn’t aware of of which I fished near multiple times, I was gutted
Buy stronger line!! No, loose a lure is realy enoying. My PB pike "lure" did its job with that pike and i think i re-did it, it was on a streamer fly when fishing trout 😂

Never caught a perch on a Reflex spinnerbait, but several pikes. My favorite spinnerbait for perch is without doubt the French Mepps!

Why not use the lure retriever you got in a previous episode?

Reel doesn't make a difference, action of the rod on the other hand does affect.
