For anyone interested . There is 1 perch in the canal system where i live . The EA arent interested in stocking fish in areas you dont have to pay !!! Good vid guys . Well done . Really enjoyed it !!!
@@peterfitzpatrick7032 Not really mate . The poor sod dont go far . I feel sorry for him , so dont fish for him anymore . Gets a bit boring too . Better fun guessing the colour of the carrier bags im bringing in . Had some gooduns !!!
How anyone can dislike this video is ridiculous I think it’s a very informative and goes through lots of different methods to catch the bigger perch I myself am great full to you both 👍🏻👍🏻
Top video as always. Specimen Perch are on my target list this year and I'm going to give drop shotting a go for the first time so this tutorial really does help. Thanks guys!! Keep up the awesome work.
id love to see you guys come to Wales, there's a few brill spots down here in west Wales, Ian heaps has a lake here and bosherston lily ponds is a 26 acre pike and perch lakes. come down to sa73 soon guys and let us know if you do as we will link up with you and show you the spots.
Next time you guys come to Cornwall visit Tamar lakes. Upper Tamar has loads of perch up to well over 5lb, it's probably the premium perch and carp fishery in the southwest
Fishing for perch is super popular in NYS Finger Lakes area , thousands of people fish for perch and typically eat them too . Perch in America do not get as large as the perch in the UK & Europe but look very similar .
My city s waters usually have chub tench perch and trout which is nice, however for the past 2 years theyve been overfished and the population of those fish has been reduced significantly. I used to go fishing 2 years ago with my dad and would catch perch often with a float rig and worms/maggots attached to a hook nowadays u can barely catch anything, people used to catch 3-4 fish and take them home with 0 regard for the population of those fish. I will try some of the methods u listed and i will see if any of them are effective at catching some perc, thanks you.
I like to make a double loop through the swivel eye then crimp it... VERY little pressure on the crimp this way... I make my pike traces like this... 😎👍☘️🍺
In my opinion for perch, maggots and a float will do perfect for the smallers, worms for the medium sized and small deadbait like spratfish for the larger perch.
I am located close to a pond in Toronto, Canada that's full of perch, but they are rarely caught with the methods that are commonly used around here. I will have to adjust to the overall smaller size of North American perch, but think that these methods will help. Now if only bait shops here would carry maggots!
Could u do a vid on how to find spots in lake using maker floats and leads , personally that’s my weakest point in carp fishing and I’m sure a lot more carp anglers too, cheers
@@UncalBertExcretes i dont see whats the problem with boilies... i myself never tried them, only corn, but my friend catches all the fish on them (and yes, i have seen him catch a ton of fish, he isn't just talking out his arse)

High, I know this was 4 years ago and you've fished several venues both home and abroad. Have you ever fished in the South of France ? Le Lac du Bourget, in the Savioe region ?? My brother in law lived close by but unfortunately he has passed away. I did try fishing a couple of times but to no avail 😢. While in one of the shops saw a fishing magazine, cover picture 📸 was one of the biggest Perch I had ever seen. That was until I watched your holland ? Video and the monster perch along with pike and zander. Was just wondering if you had been that far down in france at all ??. Hope you don't mind me asking 🙂 Cheers Les.
Hello, I really like the lures that you're using in this video. Could you please tell me which brand and type these lures are? Your video's are great as always!
I've been trying to let my lures sink to the bottom but every single time, it just gets caught in weeds. Is the water too shallow maybe? Does deeper water have less weeds?...
Great vid as always, what's you thoughts on high viz line( fluorescent coloured braid) do you think you should use flourocarbon between your braid n wire trace or do you think attaching it straight to your trace is fine.
Hello lads , You two are the nuts !! .Could you please give me an idea of a rig to tempt some big Barbel ,Carp or Chub from the Thames please .Its not too far from the bloggers match you had in Pangbourne 👍👍thanks., Ben .
With the drop shot lure, what happens if the perch/pike breaks the line above the hook? Then the perch will be tethered to the weight on the lake or river bed
or you use the Italians strategy float put a maggot on the smallest hook ever and use a rod that is literally just a big piece of metal with a line attached to the thinner end of it. Yes this is how Italians fish they also don’t kill the fish with a knife they let them suffocate in plastic bags… I’m traumatized also no weight at all
8lb mono or fluorocarbon mainline max or 6 - 12lb braid mainline max for casting distance and fall rate of your jig head and soft plastic . Also crush the barb of your jig head hook .
Watched this yesterday and dreamt about doing the worm and maggot and eventually after a few carp snagging one on my feeder rod 😂🤪 these things stick 😂🤦♂️ - Will

Korda get these lads on fishing all stars with Dean Macey! They deserve tv time... Great to see your brands supporting these lads.
Just get em replace dean macey, macey is just horrible to watch, very cringey.
Totally agree, great lads who are very competent anglers and completely deserve to be on tv.
Don’t spoil it with sponsors telling them to use only there products
Never seen a really big one in Australia but a couple of days ago I caught a big boy. Best day ever
Well done mate!!

A tiny piece of elastic band on the hook before & after putting on worms keeps them from wriggling up the line or off the hook 😎☘️👍🍺
That is a super helpful tip!
I'm from Canada and I'm trying to catch perch. Video was very informative and clearly presented thank you
Glad it was helpful, thank you! All the best with it! :)
Do a vid on how to catch more bream that would b great this video was so amazing thanks guys

awesome video lol they say perch fishing is easy but man they can b tricky on hard days!
Catchin small pearch is pretty easy, it's the big ones that are tricky.

When I make a wire trace I pass the wire through the cripm, then put the tagg end down in the crimp again. That way it won't ever be pulled out.

Need see video on unhooking perch find very difficult sometimes as they swallow hook and difficult recover it without damaging or killing fish.

Nailed it again! 👏🏻👏🏻
I caught 2days ago an 4 lb perch on a live bait shiner with a big pike float and caught some catfish layer

Decent video wished there was a few recommendations on rods

Alex, welcome to the mustache crew!!
great video good tips thankyou alex
Great,great instructional video
Thanks for the help.
You're welcome mate :)
Thanks👍...I caught my first perch
Nice one mate!! 👍
I have got many pike on dropshot rig, while others hadnt got anything
Very interesting video and that tank in the background is top
I’m from the USA so I will just ask, are your perch the same species as the yellow perch here? If so they get much bigger where you are.
They're different species but very closely related! Usa: Perca flavescens / Uk: Perca fluviatilis :)
I've been trying to let my lures sink to the bottom but every single time, it just gets caught in weeds. Is the water too shallow maybe? Does deeper water have less weeds?...
would a 40lb trace wire work aswell
How this is different from Carolina rig?
Great vid as always, what's you thoughts on high viz line( fluorescent coloured braid) do you think you should use flourocarbon between your braid n wire trace or do you think attaching it straight to your trace is fine.
If the water is really clear then a long flurocarbon length would definitely help!
Where did u buy the soft plastic jigs?
Try fishing with a carolina-rig, they work very well too
We've caught a few perch on carolina rigs, especially with soft-crayfish lures!
What size of hook u recommend for perch?
Can I keep perch inside my pond?
If its freshwater. Yes but you have to buy them as fry
Are your perch as good eating as our yellow perch?best eating fish in north america
Another great video!!!!🎣😎
Thanks!!
Do you guys think I could trot a river with a larger float with prawns or should I stick to more natural baits for trotting
We find trotting for most small silverfish best with maggots. But you could try with worms or a prawn if going for bigger fish!
@@fishingtutorials OK thank you so much
what rod do u recommend?thanks!
You should use those big Dutch Perch like Jeremy Wade uses his "Once I was nearly impaled and eaten whole by an angry Arapaima" moment.

Perch are also in Canada
My first ever catch was a perch i caught ledgering
Wich line did u used for float fishing for carp ?
Guru drag line on our reels, normally 6lb for float fishing for carp!
Nice vid it made my Day cuz my school closd down thanks to corona and i should have had surgury but i couldent cuz corona
Andreas nice! I’m from Maryland so if there are 6 more cases to 15 we also get a break from corona
With the drop shot lure, what happens if the perch/pike breaks the line above the hook? Then the perch will be tethered to the weight on the lake or river bed
I guess you didn't notice the lead is just attached without a knot...
Make a video how to catch a perch in river using top water lures!!!
Great vid thanks.
Pls make how to catch zander
Will see what I can do!
Any plans on catfishing rigs?
We'll try and cover that in summer :)
Can you make a how to catch barbel video please
Yep! We will do that and launch it in the new season! :)
Tell me how this video can even have any dislikes
Good video
Thanks guys
Thank you for watching!

The perch looks like a punk rocker lol angry... I find them harder to de-hook as they go to the back of the mouth/,throat.
The 9 people that disliked this video, didbt catch any pearch
that perch is big
We and my mate went down the canal, I was dead baiting. He had a float on one rod and put the head of a smelt on the size 12. Had 3 Zander and lost 1😂

If you can't catch perch give up fishing
The main tactics are.... all of them.
💖
Ive tried usin jigs befor an they get caught on snags in the water u cant see -_-
Jack Stratfull Your probably fishing too heavy mate . 2-3 gram jigheads on a size 2-8 hook and you will rarely snag if ever .
8lb mono or fluorocarbon mainline max or 6 - 12lb braid mainline max for casting distance and fall rate of your jig head and soft plastic . Also crush the barb of your jig head hook .

Nice video Alex, but why so serious? Give us one of your trade mark smiles.
Haha, I'll try and smile more next time!
What the fuck why is the purch so big where i live the biggest purch you will get is 1 lb at most
Just need the perfect conditions and they can grow :) Perch can get up to 8lb in very rare cases!
So how's Jim did he find lots of food 😂😂
hahaha yep ;)
LOTTA wire waste. If you catch that sh*t INSIDE the crimp, no need for trimming wastage
