Turns out the mushrooms were magic and Carl imagined catching all those fish 😂😂😂 he's still standing in the Tesco carpark with his shoelaces as fishing line 😂
Carl I love you videos and cal and dani and Tom wilshaw you guys have taught by me so much since I was like 8years old watching it with my dad catching little roach and now from watching you guys I am now catching carp up to 25lb thanks so much 👍
What a great video to show the fun to be had with friends on a great river, sharing fish and working together makes it so rewarding. So glad the UKs leading RUclips angler is a all rounder, highlighted what a amazing diverse sport we have. Loved it!
this is the most hearthwarming thing to see on a angler. When he finds a spot, that gives him unexpected loads or unexpectedly big fish, and he just cant stop laugh and giggle every second. Im sure this is one of the best feelings on earth.
Your videos always put a smile on my face. Keep doing what you’re doing Carl. I even created my own carp fishing book and you inspired me to become a great fisherman ❤
Love the thought of someone like yourself fine tuning fishing equipment we can enjoy, thank you for that and I look forward to seeing them in the shops and wish you every success in this commercial adventure.
@ I will 100% be buying some for f your kit! I really need a good quiver type set up, never put a barbel on the bank and I think that’s going to become my next challenge
Brilliant vid mate as always! Great seeing Scott trying something new and you and your new camera man bonding 🤩 loving seeing you back happy and doing what you love most 💙
Carl, I’ve got to say this video stands out in terms of your connection to the audience. You seemed somehow even more comfortable with the voiceover and interview shots than usual, and that’s saying something! Excited to see Isaac joining the team, and the rods as they develop! Tight lines and stay hydrated 🎏
Hay Carl I would like to say thank you. You have taught me so much about carp fishing and fishing in general that I didn’t know, even know I am in Australia I use the things I have learnt form the countless videos of your that I have watched and they have healed me catch some amazing fish. If you keep doing what you are doing I hope you can influence more kids like me to become a better fisherman or even to start fishing.
Hey Carl . Another amazing video . Loved it. Best of luck with the rods. It's so good to hear all the comments from really young anglers inspired by you. I don't see too many young anglers on the bank who were as obsessed as I was at that age so it's great they are watching you and getting involved. 👍
Super excited to find this video this evening. As usual a great video Carl, also extremely exciting news about your rods. Can’t wait to see them released. Good luck and Tight lines 👍
Much love from Michigan you’ve taught me how to carp fish all the rigs I see you use I try to find them and use them and have had such success I usually go pike and musky fishing throughout the year but the carp were hitting the bait differently this year
Good on you Carl … my little lad has one of your Beanies and loves your channel . If he could have one of your rods he’d be Buzzin ! . Thanks for all the entertainment over the years . Be great to meet you someday on our travels 👍 🎣
Hi Carl can’t wait for the new rods will definitely buy a few I found you on RUclips about 2 years ago when I wasn’t in to carp fishing but after watching your videos I made it my hobby and have recently came 3 rd in a Welsh open under 18 competition thanks to what I learned from you thanks for producing incredible videos just like this one
lol i've been watching your videos before i started fishing, ive learned lots of things from you, to this day ive won quite a lot of competitions ive been in, cheers
Another thoroughly enjoyable update, Carl. Congratulations on the rods, I've no doubt you're immensely proud of what you've achieved there. Looking forward to the next.
Ah thank you mate - feels pretty unreal tbh still! My kid-self would be pretty blown away. Has always been dream to help and encourage others in the hobby that I love so much, and being a part of making decent products that enable this for current/future anglers feels like a huge thing.
Mate seriously watching this channel makes me so happy , it's like watching your older brother do cool things and inspire the rest of us . Much love Malaysia
Isaac did brilliantly on his first day as your cameraman! 👏 Some great footage and also seems like a nice guy that loves angling. Great video and was nice to see people catch new species that they'd never caught before... Another brilliant video, Carl!
I think this is my first comment on your channel. I just wanna say, it's amazing how many new friends and experiences you and Alex have made since you both went your own way. Honestly, I have an older brother so I can understand how much you'll be missing him after spending so much time together and it's great that you both still do. I think you're both making some really good content and if you think about it - you and Alex wouldn't have had the experiences you both had had after going your own ways if you both hadn't gone ahead with it in the first place
That was a brilliant video Carl, the fishing was amazing . Seeing you fish with Scott was great too . I followed Scott too with his carp fishing . Do some more together, that would be a defo watch 👍
Congratulations Carl what a moment that must feel like getting to see your own brand being a fisherman for all them years but finnaly being a big name in fishing must be such a great feeling ! Can’t wait to grab one !!
Kayaked down this stretch a few times over the years, always wanted to fish it. Such a beautiful river that never ceases to amaze me. Great video! and to see the bridge from a different perspective is a welcome sight 😅
Great video again Carl and welcome to the team Isaac and what a cracking session you guys had and I bet that's not the last time we see Scott on the bank chasing barbel and chub
I feel guilty for not subscribing to your channel earlier, but I did subscribe just now. Started going fishing a few months ago and on my favorite playlist there's a bunch of your videos. I'm so happy for you having your own rods built. Good luck and tight lines 🎣
Carl I’m 13 and you got me into fishing a year or so ago I’ve been watching your videos since and now I’m hooked and since ive watched every video you have posted going back yeaarssss now I treasure everytime a new video is posted. Keep it up 👍👍🎣
Those days, those venues when fishing is just right cannot be beaten - the wye, on the right conditions is no joke. I'll keep my eyes out for those lure rods
I really enjoyed the video!!! The way it is cutted, with the quick changes I really like! Good job and a huge inspiration for my work! Thank you. Best regards, Andreas
Quality video once again, and even better to see you fishing a stretch where I learnt too fish 20 years ago, my house even made an appearance in this! Them chub off Kerne bridge we were catching and have caught for many years, the barbel fishing just downstream from there is brilliant where the water splits around the island 👍🏻
I really can’t wait for these rods! I’m definitely going to purchase a lure rod and thinking about a feeder rod for carp, never really don’t carp, barbel etc… Thanks to you I’m very eager to try.
I can't believe I'm going to be going from watching you and Alex on anglersmailtv and Nash dvds etc. to buying your rods... That's mental... You've come along way congratulations mate! Also well done to you for seeing a gap in the market and bringing a float/feeder rod out, exactly what I've been waiting for since I brought my first ever rod.👌
I’ve followed your channel for years and also Dans channel which Isaac took over, it’s great to see a colab utilising your combined skills to keep making such good content. Ps the rods look cracking (northern for awesome). Always good to see you catching, whatever the species 👍🏻
Nice one, Carl, it looked amazing fishing as always with your friends, and your new rods 🎣🎣🎣 look very nice, and we're catching some nice fish 🐟 🐟🐟 they fly out the shop's Carl amazing work 🎣🐟😁👍👌
Ordered your book the other week it came today such a good book teaching everything you could learn even teaching how to catch the fish never seen that in a book before 🎣
Great video carl, i like your carp videos but i really think theres nothing better than watching you guys catch barbel and chub. Always loved your previous barbel videos. Keep up the good work 🙂
Congrats on the development of the rod range! I've been working on my range as well, you'll find it's a constant process, with every batch made you'll want to change something! Good to see that you're keeping to the thought that fishing should be affordable, and not a sport for the well off.
Haha, yes that has been the experience! Thanks mate :) yeah definitely, want them to be quality but accessible to most people. Making sure some of them are multi-use where possible is the goal too!
Just bought a new twin tip rod and reel for the river. Used to love river/coarse fishing.Had some nice chub from the Nene back in the day, starting back up on the chub/rivers next week after about 20yrs of solidly targeting carp/catfish. Can't wait to get back on the local rivers/canals
Amazing, I’m a sea angler all my life, got a little sub for the estuary’s and never fished fresh water in my life, as I keep watching these amazing vids I’m going to have to start getting my ass in gear and give it a go, great seeing Alex back on the channel aswell :)
Those Wye Chub were hungry Carl and the footage of them hitting the bread off the top was spectacular! 🙂 Just a tip. The next time you go lure fishing for them in your little local stream, don't forget to pack a packet of regular hooks and a few rounds of bread so you always have a second bait option. It won't take up much room alongside your lure tackle and could make the difference between catching a fish and blanking. Tight lines mate. 🎣🙂
I've caught chub like this before, sometimes they go on a feeding spree and will just take anything you offer them. I know I hooked some twice because when I got snapped, I soon caught one with my other hook still in its mouth. They didn't get spooked like they usually do. I had around 20 of them in a few hours. Doesn't happen often but when it does it's spectacular fishing.
Brilliant video. Some size of those chub. I managed to get Isaac his first salmon on the fly so I know the feeling of getting him his first fish. Well done.
Another top video Carl. Excited to see your rods. I will be pur hasing a couple from your range without doubt. The action when casting and playing in those rods honestly looks really good. 👌
Thanks mate! Gunna work really hard to make a full set of perfect rods for all the fishing styles. It’ll be at least a year till they’re ready though - can’t rush something as big as this!! ❤️
Cracking video Carl and a great bit of sport some lovely fish landed 👌 Issac seems a lovely lad I speak to him occasionally and I look forward to meeting him hopefully in May when I visit the lakes again for some fishing 🎣🎣

Thanks for what you do keep it up! 😊
Hi Carl, Brian here in Campbell River, a town half way up the east side of Vancouver Island, Canada. I grew up in the Medway Towns in Kent, and I started fishing in the early 60's. We were still in the post-war depression, and I remember building a rod from a disused tank ariel, (no backbone to it at all ). In 1967 I emigrated to Canada and it has been my home ever since. Where I now live, fishing is for trout and salmon, which sounds idyllic until I watched your videos and realized the lack of variety, (I miss roach and tench most). In one of your videos you had a hooked fish which was then taken by a pike, and asked if anyone else had had such an experience. On one occasion, I had a trout taken, not by a fish, but by a bird. Having visited Canada, I am sure you are familiar with the Loon, or as it is known in the UK, the Black Throated Diver. These reputedly shy and retiring birds, in one lake have learnt to watch anglers, and steal fish from the hook. On one occasion, whilst fishing from a float tube, using a teal and claret, I hooked a nice rainbow trout of about 2lb. It put up a good fight, making the reel scream at times, but well under control, when suddenly the rod doubled, and the reel screamed. Think big carp on a #5wt rod. Suddenly thinks went back to normal, and I continued to play the fish. Then it happened again, and a third time. When I finally got the fish to the net, it had three stripes across it's body from the three times the bird had grabbed the fish and swum away. Loons are not the only birds we have to deal with. Whilst they attack under water, Bald Eagles have learnt to swoop in to take fish as they are brought across the surface to the net. These are not fisherman's tales but incidents experienced by others too.
Well done with your catches, I’m a young angler getting into river fishing and little streams arround where I live. Love the videos, Next time I’ll try and watch them earlier
Love the videos. My son, 7, found you on RUclips a year or so ago and now fishing on a Sunday morning with him is my favourite part of the week 👊
Mega comment!
Nothing brings me more joy than seeing a father and son on a bank.
@Thomas-c3w5q It really is those things they remember
Dad and son. Doing what you love and what he is learning to love. Best experience on the planet. Keep the love flowing.
This made me very happy 😃❤️
if this gets 100 likes i will fly out to the uk and hand make a rod for carl
Excuse me?

Still amazes these carp fisherman have never fished small rivers and big ones there's so much more than sitting behind buzzers

xD and the two friends he's trying to teach are actually just a couple of pigeons
@DunkinBiscuits throwing bread to the pigeons thinking he's catching chub on bread 😂

I learned to fish on rivers! Cumbrian fast rivers; it’s odd for me to hear some people are not used to trotting a float!
Lovely!! Hope to fish that way more often :)
Carl, these videos about the joy of fishing, alone or with friends, keep brightening up my days. Keep up the amazing work. Cheers from Portugal
Ahh Thanks so much Rafael! Appreciate that :) I'm glad they bring you joy. Tight lines!
Love This! Really looking forward to your line of rods coming out 🎣
Brilliant to see you back Carl... been a while 😮
Well done with your catches, I’m a young angler getting into river fishing and little streams arround where I live. Love the videos,
Next time I’ll try and watch them earlier
