I agree with the not chucking used bait in the water. It just stands to reason that on a hard water, there may only be one pike in the area and it might only eat once that day. Same goes if a bait comes off on the cast, I am gutted that there's a free meal sat out there competing with my hooked bait.

A real pike angler would syringe up all that loose Danny-blood and inject it into the next deadbait !!... 😂
I bring home my used baits and freeze 'em again, then, when I go out again and I'm using the baitboat I chop up these baits to work as a "loose feed" attractant...🤗

Hello Danny another great video we've been using circle hooks this year (just to see if they work) And yes they do work Do u ever use circle hooks urselves as it's new to me We've only used them twitching dead baits but every fish has been hooked right in the corner of its mouth easy to unhook
Hey Chris, I've seen a lotta anglers are switching to circles... but I also read somewhere that hooking in the scissors like this may in fact NOT be good given you are pulling right on the jaw joint as opposed to inside the mouth...
Circles seem to be fashionable more than anything else, obviously we as anglers strive to prevent deep-hooking fish ... but are we doing unseen damage with the scissors hook-up ??
Is there scientific data saying this is a good development in our pike fishing ?
I don't have the answer to that but I do believe its a valid question to be asked...

As usual, great vid Danny - if there's anyone here who hasn't suffered the nicks and cuts from unhooking pike, they are doing it wrong!
Managed 5 myself today (biggest 8lb 5oz) - 4 on a mackerel tail, and 1 (albeit the smallest!) on something I haven't done in years - sprat fished sink and draw!

Agree about reusing your deadbait why toss them away when you can use them and save yourself money buying more.
