Best looking course fish in my opinion. Stunning.
Lee - lovely fish!
Reminisced a bit - when fishing with my father as child, can always remember him saying "Go on my son" when he hooked a good fish....so great to hear those words again..!!
He will be 90 next year, but up to the age of 80, he was still at it and landed a 43lb Catfish whilst fishing with my brother - once she was hooked, that same expression came out............."Go on my son".
Thanks for re-igniting memories - there are so many.............

Love deadbaiting for pike in local river had a lot of pike with this method, lately the crawfish have moved in within the last couple of years the rivers infested with them so fishing ain't the same as it used to be
Great session you caught some bangers mate
Cheers mate
I am moving much closer to the Trent next week so it will feature much more in my pike campaign this autumn/winter. I tend to ledger Deadbait using fox ledger stems, is there a float rig you would recommend to bring some variety to presentation? Cheers
Hi I've just started fishing on the river trent and you said in this video you like a right line. I always like a right line just for pure indication and to stop deep booking pike. But I was told not to tighten my line up and I'm struggling to get my head round not having right lines ..can you give me any advice on river pike fishing in terms of do I keep my line right or not please ...I'm only use to lakes and canals with slack water.
When you say "right line" I'm guessing you mean "tight line" , normally i will attach the drop off indicator and leave it a few inches below the reel, to be honest it doesn't make too much of a difference a few inches.
hi mate found your channel and subbed you great quality channel i was on the embankment steps a couple of weeks ago had a few nice perch, what sort of set up do you have there mate reel line rod etc i fancy a go on the river for a pike cheers mate thanks for sharing .
Thankyou, rods freespirit CTX, reels shimano ultegra , 40lb braid.
@@obsessionwithangling many thanks for the reply I will get looking tight lines buddy👍
was it on a tidal stretch?
No
maybe this question will sound strange to you, but I'm wondering if here in Britain it is possible to take a pike or a perch caught for cooking at home or do you have to release it back into the river? thanks for the answer
Always release back in the river
What net is that?
Freespirit CTX
Can you just pay for a day ticket on the Trent??
Yes
I thought the trent got polluted
