Thanks for the shout out! But know that you are the one who gives quality to the reaction, through your very to-the-point observations regarding the complexity of Nightwish's musical composition in something that transcends established musical styles (combining elements of: pop, rock, metal, symphonic music - instrumantal and choral, musical theater, folk and even jazz). You've only listened to a few songs from their vast repertoire and you already notice that they're not similar - there's an explosion of creativity here, thanks to Tuomas Holopainen, an explosion that spans almost 3 decades, and the transmitted energy is intensely optimistic. I hope you continue and give us your insightful opinions, because you help us understand better why we all love Nightwish 🤘
@@gabriel.bardac Thanks for the kind words and support! I have a long way to go with my Nighwish journey, the more I listen, the more I enjoy. Complex, layered and genius composition feathered throughout. Absolute beast of a band!
Hi Gabriel, quick question for the future. Do you know if the label/ / Nightwish youtube team will release copyright claims to monetize reactions? No big deal if not.
@@ReactADHD As far as I know, the label in the last decade is Nuclear Blast. Unfortunately, I don't know the details, especially about the situation in the past. It should be specified in the description of the official videos.
This one never fails to get me moving! It's one of a group of songs where I prefer how the original singer (Anette) starts the song, but Floor completely owns it by the end. She has a talent for finding the best way to make the endings even more impactful - she adjusted _Ghost_ _Love_ _Score's_ ending too.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! It's great to hear how much you appreciate the nuances in their performances. They both have such incredible talents!
New subscriber here and I must say you have such energetic reactions !! I do the same thing when I watch their concerts which I do alot of lol. For some of the best metal songs they do check out ``Slaying the Dreamer`` at Buenos Aires you will get a concussion from headbanging !!
Love seeing you react man! Your energy and enthusiasm is contagious =) Also you Hear the music in such a great way, and manage to express that. Thanks again for a great experience. Really enjoying your journey of this greatest of bands =)
NIGHTWISH reactions and US Election Night meltdown videos, are really keeping me entertained these days. Keep up the good work fella - loads of variety in their back catalogue. 🤘🇬🇧🤘
For me personally, this video and song at Wacken 2013 is #1 of all the Nightwish songs ever. My 5 year old granddaughter agrees with me. She knows every word and windmills right along with Floor.
If you want to try another great symphonic metal band try Epica - Sancta Terra (live) with full orchestra, choir and ….. Floor Jansen as guest vocalist.
Hey there, I have got to tell you Dude, this is one of the best reviews of this song that I have ever seen, and I have seen many before, Thank You, and keep on rocking out with Nightwish 🤘👍
Glad you are enjoying your nightwish journey, if you want something different try I want my tears back from Buenos Aires the crowd participation is amazing, and you get to meet Troy playing the Uilleann pipes, great reaction 🇬🇧
Tuomas studied musical theory (along with various instruments) from a young age and his composition style is very much drawn first from a classical perspective where songs have Movements, and a lot of Nightwish songs have several separate, distinct Movements within them! Everyone likes to refer to him as the "Metal Mozart", but I actually agree with another reactor, who said a better comparison in terms of composers is actually Wagner, with Tuomas' heavy and complex layering of musical texture and harmonies, extensive use of accenting, and the way that he approaches blending the classical with metal. It makes for such an incredibly unique musical experience, and as you listen to more Nightwish, you'll start to identify patterns in the ways that he thinks and structures his songs, his use of accents, of time signatures and changes, of moments of silence or softer, slower sections, as well as the way he phrases his lyrics and certain things he comes back to in them over and over. Tuomas loves ocean imagery, for example. It's always a pleasure to watch a reactor who's making note of and identifying things about the composition and influences!
Absolutely! Tuomas's ability to blend classical elements with metal truly sets Nightwish apart. It's fascinating how his compositions invite listeners to explore deeper layers of meaning and structure.

Interesting to hear you talk about being quintissentially Nightwish - for I have always believed that whatever song of theirs that you listen to, there is something about it that tells you it is a Nightwish song - and this is not just Floor's voice, but from Tarja and Anette as well. It can be soft, slow, fast, hard or all combined - Nightwish are their own musical genre.
Absolutely, Nightwish has a unique sound that resonates through all their tracks! It's amazing how each vocalist brings their own flavor while still embodying that quintessential Nightwish essence.
I had to come back and check this one, even though it's past bedtime already here, because you told me earlier that it was coming out soon. And it was just as good as I expected ❤️. I really needed the smile that this reaction gave me tonight. Thank you!

This is originally an Anette song, where the “operatic” part after the breakdown was a soft choir in the background (as Anette was more singing pop style) Floor: “hold my beer…” Or better whisky or sigar (yes she smoked Dutch sigars and liked some scotch whisky)❤
Thank you for sharing your insights! It's always interesting to dive deeper into the origins of these songs and see how artists put their own spin on them.
Yes dude. Keep on doing reactions from Gabriel's list, because this band has so many song's and many of them you need to know while band history to really appreciate it. Musically there are certain artists u hear and know who it is....Ozzy, Santana, Slash, Eminem, Gilmour, Nightwish...also, Maiden and Dio....I think u will find that Sabaton also qualifies once u fall into that rabbit hole
Not even close to the most epic and thats only within the Nightwish repertoire. Wait till you get to ‘Poet and the pendulum’ and ‘The greatest show on earth’. Then of course there is EPICA, a band that you dont seem to have sampled yet (the clue is in the name). ‘Unleashed’, ‘Cry for the Moon’, ‘Code of Life’, ‘Kingdom of Heaven part 3’ would all be contenders in their live forms to compete with and IMHO best Storytime in the epic stakes.
You're absolutely right! The Nightwish repertoire is vast and incredibly epic. I appreciate your recommendations for Epica-I'll definitely check out those tracks!
I have known the connection between classical and rock since hard rock was invented. There are always projects that transfer rock songs to an orchestra. Sometimes better, sometimes worse. With symphonic metal, this is planned from the beginning. Bands like Epica or Visions of Atlantis have already toured with smaller or larger orchestras. So far, Nightwish has shied away from the effort. The orchestra they need is probably too big for them. The sound check and the space required in changing locations will be a nightmare. Storytime is part of the concept album / movie score of the film Imaginaerum by Nightwish (take that, Metallica 😉). In the original, it was recorded with the second singer Anette Olzon. The movie may have been one of the reasons for the split, because it complicated the situation. The song introduces the main character, who as a musician has no regard for his surroundings. Hence the allusion to Peter Pan, who lives without responsibility. Since the concert took place during the Imaginaerum tour, you will hear even more songs from the album. And it gets even more epic! Tuomas can blend orchestra and metal band to perfection.
You bring up some excellent points about the relationship between classical and rock music! It's fascinating to see how different bands interpret that blend. Nightwish definitely has a unique sound, and I'm excited to see what they might do in the future!
Metal Mozart - there is weight to that nickname.. There are many great "symphonic metal" bands, but none quite have the depth and perfect blend in their compositions as Nighwish has.
