  • Satisfy your sweet cravings guilt-free with our homemade chocolate and coconut bars, a popular on-the-go treat. In this recipe, we unveil a simple and wholesome alternative using only nutritious ingredients. Embrace coconut oil, a source of healthy fats, and honey, a natural and nutritious sweetener, in lieu of condensed milk laden with refined sugars. Garnished with roasted slivered almonds for an extra crunch, and combined with finely shredded coconut, these bars promise a nice fusion of nutrition and pleasure.
    Instructions:
Combine shredded coconut, coconut oil, and honey in a bowl. Mix well to combine. The texture will be sticky but don’t hold together yet.
Refrigerate for 30 minutes to help the mixture hold together.
Shape small quantities into bars with your hands or any other shapes you may prefer, then place the bars in the fridge for another 30 minutes.
Meanwhile, place the slivered almonds onto a baking tray and roast them for 7 - 10 minutes in a preheated oven at 350°F (approximately 177°C).
Also, melt the chocolate chunks with the coconut oil.
Take the bars out of the fridge and dip each coconut bar into the melted chocolate until well coated, using a fork or dipping tool to ensure even coverage.
Garnish with some slivered almonds on top for a crunchier taste.
Transfer the tray to the fridge for 30 minutes to allow the chocolate to set.
Once set, your homemade chocolate and coconut bars are ready to be enjoyed!
    Ingredients:
    1 ½ cups (120 g) shredded unsweetened coconut

hi, I was wondering why you need to add coconut oil to the chocolate I usually do truffles with just homemade chocolate. Thanks.

The core of these homemade bounties is the coconut mixture and coconut oil is the binder that helps the shredded coconut hold together (people use condensed milk). I thought maple syrup and coconut oil are a better option than condensed milk 🙏

oh, I realize that the coconut oil does that with the coconut but you use coconut oil when melting the chocolate so i didn’t know why that was necessary ty

      @@lorifenix6423 oh, sorry 🤗
I find the chocolate more smooth and easier to work with when you add a bit of coconut oil. But it’s not obligatory 🙏
