    For me, all the things you are saying help polish stay longer and look better, but I would venture to say that top coat has been the most important difference for me when it comes to manicure longevity. I apply 2 coats of top coat when I first paint my nails, then I do a coat every other day until I'm ready to do another manicure. I also make sure my tips are sealed every time I apply polish or top/base coat.
    I can actually see the top coat get dull on the second day, just from the day to day use of my hands. Adding more top coat instantly boosts their shine and thickness. People ask me if mine are gel, quite a compliment. I add top coat to my toenails about once a week. Because I wear socks most of the time at home, my toenails do not get nearly the abrasions my fingernails probably get. But it still helps keep my toenails looking good. So someone who does not do quite as much with their hands may want to reapply top coat every 3rd day etc. I also use only quick dry topcoat, and I wait between 3 and 5 minutes between coats. That helps speed the process a bit.

      I'm happy, that this method helps you. In my experience, I can refresh my top coat only 1 time after 2-4 days. The next layer make worst adhesion of base coat, and some nails start to cheep off. 😰 And also polish wear time depends on base coat too. 🤔

      Wow you read my mind and I love your profile pic! My black cat reminds me of Bagheera😂I thought I was crazy for re-doing the top coat every other day..the most it lasted was 4 days but that was incredibly rare. I definitely use my hands a lot throughout the day. I even shower and do dishes before I paint my nails, to avoid extra water & wear/tear on them. it’s exhausting because the nails only look sleek and shiny on day 1. And by day 3, the tips are wearing off…so I usually do it every other day😢

    It works!! I have had my polish on for a week, and it has lasted like gel. followed her directions exactly, using the same brands of product (Orly bonder, 2 coats) and procedures. Only one variation: I did 2 coats base coat, 2 coats polish, one coat top- coat. I bumped one of my fingers before it dried, so added another coat of polish, and another coat of top-coat. I'm extremely pleased! I want to change color this weekend, so may not wait another week, but there has been NO chips so far.
    4-22-19. Still no chips!

    Be honest here, does it really last 2 weeks? Do you do any house cleaning at all, or cook? Because that also makes a big difference. Mine don't last more than 3 days. I cook and clean and also use a water based nail polish, to avoid chemicals in my body.

    guys my nail polish used to stay on 2 days max. but I started using shellac and i've never been more amazed. my nails grow longer because they are stronger, it lasts up to 3 weeks, it doesn't chip and it's easy to do at home. i love it so muchhhhh

      From what I understand this is a gel polish, which should last longer, but it does have downsides like it dries and damages nails.

    I use those polar nail buffers after removing color and wash my hands. Takes my nails back to a natural pink shade. Try the Cuccio base coat. It makes nail color stay on for so much longer, like almost two weeks. And I'm hard on my nails.

      How can you say that?!! It is completely unnecessary for her to use acetone!! It's horrible for nails! And using anything but a glass nail file unnecessarily chews up natural nails too.

    • @kimmievanthof3770
      @kimmievanthof3770 5 лет назад +3

      Using acetone every couple of weeks on your nails, so long as you rehydrate with a nourishing oil is completely harmless. I am in continuous contact with acetone daily for my career and my nails do just fine, so long as I am diligent with hydrating my nails and skin. And also so long as you finish your edge with a soft grit file OR an glass file you shouldn’t have a problem. Glass files are a wonderful option for nail care. Being mindful that everyone’s nails are different and some may be more sensitive than others and require gentler care, is what I do. She took the proper steps that almost any professional would use in the salon and its working well for her. In fact she used similar protocol that CND a Professional Product line educates service providers to use in the salon. I have a very successful career , love what I do, and my clients are extremely happy. I have invested a lot of effort and time into my education and am very confident in my practices. So I definitely can compliment Milabu on her nail care routine confidently, regardless of your personal opinions on how you prefer to do nail care and what works for you.

    i just love ur video. i was the same way, i bit my nails til i was 19, had a boyfriend who made fun of me and tell me i had boy hands and i somehow just quit. i do my nails almost the exact same way of you..but i noticed u didnt do anything to the underside... i take peroxide on a qtip and rub under them, they get really clean and white and look ahmazing. let me know what you think, maybe u could try it. i use to use a tool that sort of ground them out from under but then they.got thin and would break. so the peroxide method works the best for me.
