I was doing my own makeup and getting ready for work while watching and listening to that video and it just put me mentally into the perfect place to face the day. I feel that people really don't understand the pressures faced by RUclips celebrities, and I'm glad you're able to stay true to yourself (with just a little help from a therapist). Your genuine frankness is so refreshing, so thank you for sharing!

I just tried Olive & June press-ons right before xmas - I just wanted cherry red nails for the holiday and didn't want to bother with gel polish, etc. I was super impressed with them, they stayed on for 10 days and I had to remove them after a shower, I think they would have continued to stay on honestly. My only compliant is that I need short/xtra short and they didn't have a huge selection at Walgreens/Walmart.

If removing gels causes that much damage, they’re doing it wrong. The way to remove gel without destroying your nails is the file it down JUST ENOUGH without grinding the actual nail down. It takes a bit more care and skill but it works fine. I’ve been doing gels for quite a while and my nail person did the filing so gently it didn’t ruin my nails. I learned from watching her and now do it myself. The soak off chemical is too harsh IMO. Filing just barely enough to remove the gel is much better.

Great tip! I also stopped using press-on nails, as the glue was wreaking havoc on my brittle nail beds, and I was getting some bruising. The Impress nails treat my nailbeds much kinder, but I'm not too fond of the lifting. There's just no way to get those flush to the cuticle. Ordered some BTArtbox tabs and am excited to wear my pretty nails again soon! Btw, the X-coat nail tips are always perfect 💯

I was buying my press on's from Amazon, until I found Temu. Temu has the same nails with glue & tabs for under $1.00 and up, I usually pay between $1 & $4, and the quality is even better than Amazon. I now have a collection that rivals the stock at Walgreens LOL. I have always used the glue cause I was afraid the tabs weren't strong enough and never tried them that way. I'd love to try the tabs now after seeing how well they work for you but I have a question... If soaking in hot water helps remove them, what about taking baths???? I take long, hot baths regularly due to health conditions. I hope you or someone can answer this question for me! Are the tabs bath safe??? TIA💗

  • @jsavannah

I’m concerned about removal as using Kiss nails with glue trashed my nails in the past. Can anyone confirm that the tabs + drop of glue method doesn’t need the filing off method?

The quality of press on nails has come such a long way. Even Kiss has some pretty nice ones now.
My only complaint is that it's hard to find ones that are narrow enough for my nails, and not super short. My solution to this (hopefully) is buying a box of Apres full cover tips, figuring out which sizes I need and then just getting the little refill bags of those sizes. Daily Charme also has extended sizes and refill sizes, and they can be cheaper than Apres, but by the time I pay for shipping, convert to my currency, duty fees, etc. it ends up costing the same or more than buying Apres (from a website in my country).

Excited for this vid! Same exact sentiments; brittle nails, not a fan of sitting in a salon & the price. I recently bought a bunch from Glamnetic (but have yet to use) and looking forward to trying Static Nails. Amazon has a ton of affordable press-on nail options it's wild! And Temu's a whole other story but yeah! Thanks for the tutorial, Alex! I wasn't sure if I'd like those little glue pads instead of glue but I'm definitely going to try it now that you've shown the wayyyy! Happy New Year, toots.

I know this video is about nails but I need to see this natural makeup look

I've noticed the ones you have on today in previous videos. I honestly thought they were your natural nails! I knew you had taken a break from gel, etc and just figured they were natural.

Have you tried luxury custom made press ons?

Unrelated but I think an eye makeup tutorial using temporary tattoos (tiny flowers, butterflies, etc) would be so cool.

I do clear coat nail polish and then put my nail glue on top of that and my press ons last forever and no damage 🤍
