THIRD Function in 30 Mins TYM Tractors T25 Tractor

- You can install a third function kit in 30 to an hour on the T25 by TYM Tractors. Some of the first T25 tractors had the old style-loader valve and use a different kit. Ask your dealer to make sure you get the correct kit. This 3rd function kit is so easy. The T25 Tractor has been a pleasure to work with too. I can't say enough good about it. The Mini Rake Grapple is just the right size for the T25. It is only 260 pounds with double action clamps. It is made by Precision Manufacturing.

The colored bands on your hoses mean something. Blue & Red are the primary or lift, the White/yellow are the curl. I think I would have marked teh new hoses with a different color combination of heat shrink tube, and then marked the hoses on the implement to match. And on the wiring connectors, you should always put a bit of dielectric grease on the connectors before you put them together. It really helps fight off corrosion, and makes them a bit more watertight.
Randall, I don't disagree with anything you said. I keep a tube of dielectric grease all of the time. I will pin your comment to the top.
@@TonysTractorAdventure thank you for this video! helpful!
That kit looks like it's came from the factory when they built the tractor. Best third function valve I've seen on a tractor. Great video.
It is a factory built kit. If you order a tractor with third function, this is the exact kit they put on. I appreciate you. Tony
Just got my TYM kit for my 474 and low and behold no instructions. Called dealer and he stated TYM does not have any. To funny. So your video is a life saver. It is basically the same kit only the cover is on the bottom instead of the side. Also a little different routing brackets. I think I will video the installation and post it. So thank you.
Thank you. I put it on my T474 too. I think I videoed the event, but I can't remember. LOL! I am glad this helped.
Tony, I bought a T474 and I’m having dual remotes in back and 3rd function up
Front! Can’t wait to pick it up, also ordered 327 big mouth grapple and ironcraft flail mower for ditch banks . Love the videos of the T474 working! This is all based on your awesome videos please keep them coming! Terry
Hi Tony. Just wanted to thank you for this video in general and the size issue with the quick connects. Sure enough my grapple connections were larger. Thanks again😊👍
Just want too say, another Great video, reading all the comments and your replies answered my questions. Thanks Tony , have a great weekend.
Glad to be of service. Have a great weekend too.
Great instructional video Tony. TYM really have it going on with the upgradability of their product. Kudos all round.
I love how everything is prewired. I think the kit is well worth the clean install.
Great "how-to" video. Made installation so easy. Thanks, Tony
Glad it helped
Excellent video, Tony. I foresee the 3rd function becoming standard on most subcompact tractors. I know it may increase the cost but it could also increase the selling point of a tractor. When you see the pre wiring on that TYM T25, I think TYM is aware of that. Again, you make great how-to videos.
Thank you, my friend. I think you are right. Factory third function may be just around the corner.
Excellent Instructional, Tony.
Glad it was helpful!
You legend, I would pay you to educate through explanation any item I could think of. So informative mate!
Thank you, my friend. I had a good time making that video.
Looks like a easy install however the valve seems to sit close to the front wheel. It is a far easier setup than breaking into your hydraulic system and creating your own 3rd function.
Thanks for the videos keep them coming
I have not had any problems with the loader valve location to this point. I am still thinking about making a guard.
Another easy install! Thanks Tony! 👍🚜
It was a pleasure for sure. Thank you for watching, my friend.
Thanks for the vid Tony! Helped me talk my dealer into installing the OEM kit. They pushed for the W.R. kit stating it was a true third function while OEM was diverter. Maybe they haven't installed one of the new OEM kits?
I get this a lot from dealers. Once they install the OEM Third Function, they will never want to install an aftermarket on a T25. Make sure they install the plunger. So many leave it out and that makes it a diverter.
I may have to trade my Kubota nightmare off for something similar, the looks factory really clean thank you sir
It turned out nice. I appreciate you.
I like this style 3rd function a lot better than the earlier diverter valve designs. Hopefully when i order my new rk25 they will have upgraded to this style.
I don't think they do. The RK 25 I saw still has the diverter valve. Maybe it will change.
Well Tony, i went and talked to the guys at Paris powesports, and between your videos, and speaking with them, i have decided to go with the t25 instead of the rk25. I really like the attachment line they carry. I even looked at the bad boy tractors. I dont like the loader control on those. Sadly they were sold out of the t25s when i was there. Would like to have ran one around the lot for a little bit.
I really like Ted and his crew. They are a solid dealer.
Again man love your videos, I live in Maine and only have 36 acres but looking to do food plots, driveway maintenance and small stuff around the house. So based on your videos and recommendations I now own a T25, which will be here tomorrow. One thing I wonder is when installing the rear remote and third function kit do you add hydraulic fluid? You just never mentioned that in your videos. Also you are TYMs best spokesperson. Seen several videos online but most are very specific, you show the tractor and all the implements for all your tractors with actual real word functionality. One veteran to another thank you for your service brother.
After I installed the third function I did add a small amount of fluid. It doesn't take a great amount to fill the lines, but I came back and checked over the next couple of uses. God bless and thank you for your service.
Good video
Thanks
Hi Tony. I just bought a T25, partially because I’ve watched your videos, so thanks. I’ve been trying to find out where I can order the kit you installed here, and the cost. My dealer said they do not recommend I do the install and they charge “about $1300”. Seem unreasonable sine the labor is so short. Thanks!
That doesn't seem like a bad price at all. The going rate for a Third Function kit is around $1500-$1800.
Wow Great video that was way too easy
My Kubota BX25D is not that easy or such a clean install
Thanks again
GODSPEED SIR
EDWARD
TYM made it easy to do. Plug and Play
Very good instruction.
Thank you.
Thanks for the great video Tony. This answers a big question I'd had between the T25 and the RK25. They're both basically the same tractor, but the RK doesn't come prewired for the 3rd function and instead RK sells a front-mounted diverter kit for it. Obviously, I'd prefer the true 3rd function on the TYM. Though I really like the R14s that Rural King specs as standard on the RK25. Plus, they include the thumb as standard with the backhoe. But that true 3rd function would steer me to the T25 for sure.
My biggest concern with RK is maintenance. I love Rural King as a store, but the service department has a lot of turnover. I have never had much uses for a thumb on a small backhoe like this. I like a grapple or forks better. I have seen people try to use them on a small tractor, but the limited reach makes it un realistic to move things or even stack things. This is only my opinion.
Plus Rural King includes one set of rear remotes for the RK 25. Don't know if any other manufacturer has that feature as standard in the subcompact category.
That is a nice feature. If you go TYM, tell the dealer, and I bet he will match the deal.
@@TonysTractorAdventure @phpdreams - I contacted two TYM dealers and both said that their T25's were not prewired for a third function. What could be different with these tractors? (btw there's an RK dealer near me as well so I'm able to cross shop the T25 and RK25.) Thank you for your channel, love the videos.
TYM will not honor RK tractor warranties. RK buys directly from TYM at a reduced price, so they handle all warranties, Watch my video on the T25 third function install. I address it there. Keep on tractoring!
Very instructional, thanks 😊
Thank you
Hey Tony your videos are very helpful God bless you for that. If you could send info on where I can get the same 3rd function kit you have for the tym t25. I can't find it anywhere. Thanks
It is a kit from your TYM Dealer.
I’m guessing this is much tougher for the 2515h since it’s not pre setup for one? I don’t know enough about after market kits but want a grapple some day.
I did a whole video on setting up an aftermarket third function kit on a tym t264. It's not as hard as you think.
@@TonysTractorAdventurethanks Tony. Your videos definitely help and I’m trying lots of tips you have. Next try is fast2k for my posts.
Nice job on the 3rd function. I did my 3rd function a few years ago using a kit from Summit Hydraulics. Mine looks and functions good, but yours looks factory which I like. I do have a comment on the reducer bushings that you used in the Pioneer connectors. They look like they are brass in the video, not sure if all brass fittings are equal, but I have always read where brass fittings can be used on low to medium pressure hydraulics - 1200 psi and below. I have always used steel for that reason. Obviously you have never had a problem using brass or you wouldn't have used them in this application. Thanks for another really good video.
I have used quality brass fittings for years, but I wanted steel. There are none to be found in my county, but the brass fittings will outlast me.
Awesome video super informative as always bro. God bless
Thank you. GOD Bless to you.
That's an excellent kit. Tym sure looks to be really "not holding back" on factory options and quality.
It is really that easy. It holds up well too.
Great video! Good job
Thank you. I appreciate it.
Nice job Sir 👏 👍 🏆👴🐕🚜
Hey Tony, what grapple is that? Thank you for the videos. I think I can do it myself now.
I use a Mini Rake Grapple now made by Precision Manufacturing. It is dual clamp but only weighs 260 pounds. It works on my big tractor too.
Awesome video Tony. Is there a quick easy third function kit like that for the T494? Mine is already wired at the stick.
Yes there is. It has the plunger too. It will take about thirty mins to an hour to put on.
Your videos are very pleasant to watch besides being informative. This third function is made by TYM correct? Is there a place online at the TYM site somewhere where you can look at these hydraulic third function valves set ups? Or do you have to access these parts only through the dealership?
I think these are dealer-only parts. I appreciate your kind words.
Very informative video, thanks a bunch. I do have one question, is there enough flow to operate curl and clamp simultaneously?
Second question, are the valves interchangeable between TYM and RK?
Not really, but the clamp function takes priority. Most small tractors have a flow rates too slow to be effective. Even big tractors of all brands have this problem. Generally, commercial equipment has the features you are talking about. In it defense, I never had a problem with it.
Thank you for responding. That’s about what I thought.
Wondering if this kit will work on an RK25H, and could I buy the 2-button Joystick from TYM to make it BEST!
No. RK uses a different loader valve.
That is one sharp looking grapple in the video what brand is it?
It is a Mini Rake grapple be Precision Manufacturing. 260 pounds.
Do you have part numbers for this kit. I have a 2515h and was looking for one for mine? My dealer said he’s never seen one with the pre bent metal lines only rubber hoses. Thanks
The 2515 is a legacy Branson model. To my knowledge, it can only be bought with an OEM diverter. Aftermarket third function is the way to go.
Great video.
I appreciate it. I tried to keep it from being boring.
Good video question does the t25 handle the grapple well
Very well if you buy the right grapple.
@@TonysTractorAdventure
Thank you looking at a t25 and a 2610 with a 50 inch grapple your opinion?
Keep the grapple under 250 pounds. You can go wrong.
Hi Tony, what brand grapple do you have on your T25. Thanks and do you know how much this 3rd function valve cost.
I have the Precision Manufacturing grapple. Perfect size.
Video was very informative and made my decision to purchase easier. My valve body looks exactly like yours. The dealer (not where I purchased my T25) asked me to get the name on the pump to figure out what kit I need, but there is no name on the pump. Not sure why they would need manufacturer of the pump. Anyway what was the part number you used for the kit and I will try and confirm with the dealer to order. Any info will be greatly appreciated.
I did a third function video on the T25. You maybe can see the part number when l laid it out, but I didn't keep it. My dealer just ordered the kit.
13877754000 is what I saw. Going to ask my dealer tomorrow. Are you in ocala, too, David? My dealer asked me the same question.
@@mediocrefloridaman I am Detroit Metro area.
I ended up getting one from the dealer where I bought my tractor $900. I had told him I wanted one when I bought the tractor and were on back order at the time. I didnt know he had ordered it already. It was a pretty easy install especially with the video to help.
I purchased a 2023 T264HST last year and am now looking for a 3rd function valve kit. I can't seem find much information or any that look as nice as the one you have installed in this video. I don't have a dealer in my area to reach out to. Can you steer me in the right direction?
You will have to get an aftermarket kit to get true third function. That is one of the drawbacks of the T264. No OEM kit, be cause it uses a different loader valve. I did a whole video on installing an aftermarket kit on a T264. It turned out nice.
Thanks!
I just bought one of these tractors I need to know if you have a step that would help me to get on the tractor? right now I use a small step ladder that I barrowed from my wife's kitchen.
also I discovered that the Loader valve will only work one function at a time. Is this normal? If it is it is a big draw back for me.
I don't have a step. There is a company called TYM customs. They make an excellent step. I was thinking about getting one myself. Google "TYM Customs"
what was the part number of the kit you used?
I don't know. I went to my dealer and ordered it. It can only be ordered through a dealer.
Tony - that was the best install tutorial I’ve seen! Great job. Easy to follow along. #purplecollarlife
I get a lot of request for this type of stuff. Thank you for your kind words.
Is this a summit bud kit I check with them thay said thay don’t have a kit like the one you installed
This is a TYM kit. You can order it through your TYM dealer.
really love your videos, I am in the process of purchasing the TYM 25hs and have found your videos a big help in making my decision. I know my tractor is wired for the third function, I know I’m a little late to the party but I am wondering if you still have the part number for the kit you ordered? I think that is something I would like to add to my unit. Again thank you for the videos you put out, I’m not a farmer but we just purchased 45 acres in Maine that could use some TLC, Based on your videos and what I’ve seen you do with this unit, I think it will be a great addition to our property.
Your dealer will have it. It is an OEM kit and takes less than an hour to install. Your dealer will have to order it. If you order an aftermarket kit, you will have to make a bunch of hoses and wires up. It is cheaper to buy the OEM kit. I have done it both ways. Lesson Learned.
Thank you
Is it controlled by the existing lift/curl stick?
No. It has true third function on the tractor with two buttons.
Morning, I can't seem to find one for my tym t474,? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks mark Lexington nc
Any TYM Dealer can order the factory kit.
@@TonysTractorAdventure
I thought so too, but what I received was from long, not from tym,was looking for plug and play like t25 on your video
They didn't order the factory kit.
@@TonysTractorAdventure thank you for the information 🙏
Nice video! How much does this kit run and is it available to order online?
It is an OEM kit, so you will have to order it from a dealer. They set the pricing.
@@TonysTractorAdventure Just got my kit today and, with the help of your video, had it installed in 30 minutes. It really was that easy. Love the finished look.
Awesome. I am glad it worked out.
My dealers saying around $1200-1300 for this kit. Is that right or did the price go up?
@@mediocrefloridaman I paid about $450 for mine (the TYM OEM) from my dealer back in October of 2021. They had a WR long kit also that they quoted me at about $600. Those are both uninstalled prices.
So it looks like my brand new T25 is really an old T25, my valve body doesn't look like that. And my loader knob does not have the buttons on it. So I watch your 264 3rd function video again???
TYM has a diverter kit for the older style valve on the T25. It is my understanding it is an easy install also.
Can anyone help me with a part number???
Your dealer. I think it is shown in the loader manual.
I have the older model as well, I had my dealer order the part for me from TYM but I don’t think it is a easy install at least I haven’t figured it out yet.
@@medicfunke Do you have a part number? Can you take a picture of your valve so i can compair it to mine? Thanks
Do you know the TYM part number?
I don't. My dealer looked it up on his computer.
What is the part number for the kit
Great video Tony. That's a great looking kit. I'd be a touch concerned with those lines sticking out the side like that myself. Probably in no more dander than any other line, just a visual thing. When I ordered my RK25 I thought I was getting a real 3rd function valve but ended up with a diverter valve. Do you have much control over the hydraulics or is it just full flow? I think I prefer the control with the diverter valve myself, but I don't have anything to compare it with. Again great video, and sorry for the long comment.
This is a true third-function valve. It has a different valve than the RK25.
Thank you too!
The ability to modulate the "third function" seems to favor the diverter as well. You do, however, loose the capability of doing curl and clamp simultaniously.
Good video but 40 ft. pounds is too much for the bracket bolts.I stripped the nut threads.Sure its not 40 inch pounds for that size bolt?
I looked up the type bolt, hardness, and size. The chart said 35-40 ft pounds. If you see it on RUclips, it has to be true! I do hate you stripped out one. You are the first person I have heard that from.
@@TonysTractorAdventure Thanks for reply.Bolts are long enough to add lock nut on bottom so wasn't the end of the world.Still will watch your videos, they are well done and informative.
Thank you. I am afraid in the times we are in they make use of what hardware is available.
Good videos. Kinda tired of the repetitive "Timothee" whomever (can't put the little uptick symbol in there) commercials by Apple. How about a real man's set of commercials?
May I say that?
I just did.
Impressive tractor. I had no idea. : ) This is going to be a force to be reckoned with.
Not sure what you're talking about at the beginning, I assume you are referring to another channel. Thank you about the tractor. We have almost 200 hours on this tractor now. What a little beast.

Great video dude ❕❕❕ they want $1400 to do this at the dealer LMAO
That is about right. The kit cost a good bit plus labor.
@@TonysTractorAdventure the TYM dealer won’t let me install it myself 😢
Buy the kit from another dealership.
what if I have a different valve then you show I have a 2021 t25
TYM makes a diverter valve system for the T25 with one button. If you want a true third function, you would need to add an aftermarket kit. I have a video about this kit on the T264.
What brand grapple is that ?
It is in the video description. Precision Manufacturing
I don't use this grapple anymore. Precision Manufacturing has a much lighter grapple we use now.
