    75% full means there should NOT be fluid spraying from the valve stem when you disconnect the hose. Orienting the valve stem to the top of wheel rotation provides a natural upper limit for fluid fill. Let the excess drain into your big open tub there. You have to have some air so the tire still has compliance to uneven ground.

      Getting sprayed in the face with windshield wiper fluid means your tires are filled too much should only be 3/4 with fluid and the rest air. How did that wiper fluid taste? 🚜💨

    Rim Guard may weigh more than windshield washer solution or RV antifreeze but damn, I could go on a 2 week drunken binge for less money. I was quoted over $800.00 for filling two 15-19.5 tires! That did include the dealer picking up and returning the tractor, emptying my wallet was not an additional charge. I bought 60 gallons of RV antifreeze -50-degree, valve adapter, core removal tool @ Tractor Supply, A 10'-0" clear vinyl hose @ Home Depot and a drill pump at Harbor Freight, had the hose fittings. Total cost $231.00. Have not done the fill yet but hopefully won't have any problems. Looks like you overfilled, top off at the valve stem, according to charts 75%, my tire size should take 29 Gallons each +/-. Thought about a ballast box but don't want the hassle or loss of the weight when I have my box blade, etc. on the tractor, better center of gravity too. Thanks much for your effort on the video!

      The tractor is so new, the bead hasn't welded on the rim. In the past, I have jacked up the tire causing a vacuum. It helps pull the fluid in. Not this time. That was a pain.

    I used RV antifreeze and water mix in mine. Those were 13.9 x 28 tires so it required a lot of fluid. I have a submersible pump with a water hose outlet, so I used it and a 55 gallon drum to fill them. Best on the cheap Tire fill is the garden sprayer with 1/4 inch id vinyl tubing connect the tubing to the spray wand, remove valve core slide vinyl tube over valve stem end fill tank with desired ballast pressurize the sprayer and listen to the fluid flow when it stops bleed the air pressure out by cracking the sprayer fill/pump loose retighten and pump up again until filled comes in at a price much cheaper than the pump used in the video by itself (I got a 2gallon sprayer for $10-$20 at local hardware store and 5ft of vinyl tubing for another $5 as well as a valve core remover for a $1 + cost of ballast fill) this is the lowest buck fill technique I have come across so far

    Tony it was not your fault you lost the bead on that tire. I lost it also on the first T264 tire I tried this on and I did not even have the tire back on the ground at all. Totally up in the air the entire time.
    The issue like you said is that these tires have very tight tolerances to the rims and their design of covering the edge of the rim also contributes to the difficulty in creating and maintaining the bead. The tire is very heavy as you know and will break the bead under its own weight when off the ground without air pressure in the tire.
    What worked for me is getting the pump line hooked up and the pump started before all the air was lost. That was the key for me. The pump can overcome some air in the tire without any issue.
    Once started I bled the air out every few gallons of fluid added. I did not let all the air out, just until it slowed down a bit and then fired the pump back on to keep that bead. 🙂

      1. Awesome Kukje engine, purrs like a big kitty.
      2. Strong hydraulics, very strong loader, surprised me greatly first time I test drove it.
      3. Easy to work on and maintain, so open and spacious, components are not all crammed together as other tractors I have owned were designed.
      4. I have installed the OEM rear remotes and third function myself, so easy a cave man could do it.
      5. Auto throttle, love it when driving into piles for loader work.
      6. Three point position control.
      7. The PTO engagement is so smooth, no big jolt when it engages as all other tractors I have owned have done.
      8. I love the position of the loader joystick. Very comfortable position for me.
      9. Big beefy front axle and transmission housings. I was shocked how big the front axle was the first time I saw it.
      10. Did I mention I love the Kukje engine? :)
      I hope you get one, you will not regret it! :-)

    Even before I watched the video, or read any of the comments, I knew there would be some "lively" discussion on this topic. As with any online discussion, you'd be coming up short if you didn't have an armchair quarterback or two trying to set you straight. A lot of RUclipsrs pin the most ignorant comment of the video, but I find that just gives the trolls the attention they want. Seems to me, ignoring them denies trolls of the attention they are seeking and let's them go hide back under the bridge. But, it's your channel.
    On topic, as you point out, liquid ballast in tires has been around as long as there has been rubber tires on tractors. Old timers used a sodium chloride solution which would of course rust out rims over time. Liquid ballast does not increase rotational inertia of the tire, thus it adds no load to the frame or axle bearings, or wear the brakes. Liquid choice is important. Any "-chloride" solution is a salt, and will rust the rims (and kill your grass if you spring a leak. Auto antifreeze is a no-no as it is very toxic. RV antifreeze is not toxic, but it is significantly more expensive than your WWF. The king is that Rim Guard stuff made out of beet juice (denser than any other media), but it's expensive. I was appalled that my Branson was delivered with magnesium chloride loaded tires. It was really tempting to tell the dealer to take it back and give me new tires and rims.
    I have loaded many a garden tractor tire myself, and you can get the job done with a funnel and a hose if you have the patience and time to let gravity do its thing, but the pump and adapter is the way to go.

My tractor tires are on 20" wheels and looks to be about same size as yours. The washer fluid will protect the rim from rusting and also has a lower freezing point than plain water. Pure water isn't even that much of a problem. Some farmers run straight water in their tires because it is cheap and easy to replace in the field. It doesn't seem to cause much in the way of problems.

    Hey I admire you for doing what you're doing but I've been a farmer for over 50 years you don't want 30 lbs of pressure in the back tires when you have ballast they can't squat think about what you're doing I have a big farm and we have 12 tractors we keep about 12 to 14 PSI in the back tires on a 90% Phil you have 100% feel that's a non compactable entity so your tires can't squat when you're that full just saying

    Can't see the point of it.

    • @TonysTractorAdventure
      @TonysTractorAdventure  4 года назад +2

      That's OK. Are you new to tractors? Adding extra weight in the rear tires brings much needed ballast to a tractor. Even though this only adds about 400 pounds to the rear tires, it makes a big difference in how it lifts a load.

    There is a better way to load the tires. The way that I do it is to: 1. Remove the tire from the tractor. 2. Lay the tire down on its side, valve stem up. 3. Fill the tire up. This way you can fill up to 95% of the inside of the tire. There is no getting sprayed in the face either because you can just lean back away from the direction of the spray.

      Sounds reasonable! Thank you. I have always heard 75% fill was the right level, but no one says why.

      @@TonysTractorAdventure 75% because then you still have the cushion that compressed air will give you ... Liquid doesn't compress ...

    • @TonysTractorAdventure
      @TonysTractorAdventure  3 года назад

      That is what I have always heard. Only 75 percent.

    • @RobertJohnson-th2yf
      @RobertJohnson-th2yf 3 года назад +1

      @@TonysTractorAdventure I think that the 75% number is given because that's how filled up it will be when the valve is at 12 o'clock. The air cushion idea actually makes sense, because liquid indeed does not compress. But even when filling the tire on it's side, you can never completely fill it and there will always be a air cushion in there. The question is whether 75% is some magical number that exactly fulfills the liquid/air cushion equation, or if it is just for practical convenience? We have all "heard 75%" but who is the originator of that statement? An engineer that studied the matter and decided on that number or a salesman that made it up off of the top of his head?

    Good video my sun had a new tire put on and had fluid put in and I asked the man why he did not have the valve stem at the top he said never do that you only fill three quarters up you need the rest for air space and he has been doing it for thirty five years

      Mine are at 3/4 full. I have only been doing it 30 years. Back in the day most farmers just used automobile antifreeze and water. In row crops that is fine,, but it can kill livestock if it leaks. We jave dogs and cats, so i went this way. It evaporates very quickly if it leaks. I have seen it done a hundred ways. As long as it gets in there, it is fine. It is not rocket science down the ml accuracy. It just putting fluid in a balloon. Have a great 4th.
