Exactly 30 Years ago I was stood 10 feet away from my hero at the Sheffield, England gig of this tour. Right Now I'm raising a glass to King Edward himself. May he play on forever .
Sorry Hagar bashers. This is one of the tightest Van Halen performances I've ever seen. Eddy is spot on and Michael and Alex are all over it. Sammy's vocal talent stands on it's own.
There was no tighter band at this time than VH. In concert, even in 95, were so tight and almost perfect when performing it was amazing. The were a live force with Sammy. Didn't need Dave's schtick to rock a show. Ed's guitar, Sam's voice, and Mike and Als bass section was 100% on top of their game together.
@@cheapseats12 Well said,,, I saw all the 90s shows that came around, both nights when they played twice... all were AMAZING !!! Yes even when Gary Lost his voice 3 songs in and Ed cancelled the show and invited us all back the next night for free to make up for it. Good Times !!!
I'm a DLR partisan, I grew up with those first few albums. But I knew Sammy from Montrose and as "the Red Rocker" and still have my vinyl of VOA. Early VH was primal and explosive, but Van Halen in the 90s was an absolute war machine, firing on all cylinders. They have a dozen great hits early on, but "Poundcake" is their finest song, it's their "Kashmir". So glad I got to live through it all.
Watch any live concert with Roth. The band is a complete drunken mess. Now watch any live concert with Hagar, tight and professional. And Hagar actually sings and doesn't talk every damn verse!!!!
I bought 1984, in 1984, when I was 11. It was the first album I picked out myself. I saw them on the OU812 tour. When Eddy illness took control I stopped paying attention mostly, but knew what was going on with the band and the brothers. Then Eddy died and I haven’t been able to get enough of them since. I just bought a Wolfgang guitar. RIP King Edward. The Mighty VanHalen was the greatest rock-n-roll bad ever. 🐐 for life
I see so much heart in everyone’s performances here. Sammy’s got class for lightyears, Michael’s burning through his rhythms, Eddie’s a golden retriever, and Alex is drumming for his life.
These two were "GOLD TOGETHER" the people that were lucky enough to witness these two together will never witness anything that will ever come close to this again 🔥🔥😥😥😥
They were magical! Such a shame that they had a falling out. Good on Sammy for continuing to reconcile with Al too. Can’t help buyout love the steadiness and loyalty of Mikey too.
I wanted to see a Van Halen concert . Instead I got a stupid cellphone recording . Thats illegal . It's called bootleging ... Oh ... It's not bootleging , because its a cellphone .
How can anyone not like VH? The second song Judgement Day is a in your face kick ass rocker. Great band, they sound great, and a awesome show. Roth and Hagar era both. The Mighty Van Halen!
Seriously everyone...This is FN awesome. I saw them in 15' with Roth...AMAZING show. Sammy and DLR poked and prodded at VH to keep them moving....It doesnt matter which singer is better in your eyes, without either, I dont think we have a touring van halen in the last decade...who's with me?
I'm not really a Van Halen fan as such, but a respectful listener(meaning I don't know every song by heart). Extremely classy and nice sounding performance. Class act.
For the vast majority of his career, Eddie had a great time doing what he did best. Seen them 4 times beginning in 1982 and he always had a huge smile on his face up there on stage. Rest in forever peace, Eddie.

this is the van halen i grew up with, i love all these songs. they were great with david, but i grew up with the hagar stuff, i love 5150 so much, they all kill it in that song, especially eddie.
Simply incredible. The sound on this is amazing for a bootleg. Guitar tone is off the hook! I love every version of this band but you can’t deny Sam has the best voice. I love the DLR era too and he was a great frontman and a witty lyricist with a voice full of personality. If EVH is on guitar that’s what matters most. RIP to my favorite guitar player of all time. You were one of a kind and can never be replaced. Thank you for inspiring me and millions of others to pick up the guitar and to try for even a small fraction of your magic. 🎸🎶
John Westcott He sounds great, for certain. Personally my favourite is during Fair Warning. Also, the sound and tone he utilized on Me Wise Magic and Can't Get This No More from the first hits collection... amazing. I would love to hear him explore that tone again. It was ethereal.
TheDxlgames I was going to. Saw them front row centre at The Bell Centre in Montreal, right between DLR and Ed. One of the greatest experiences of my life and a bucket list moment for sure. Couldn't justly afford it this time when my bathroom needed a reno so badly.
Watching this again for the 1000th time, I'm sure. That is without a doubt the most rocking version of "5150" I have ever heard... better than the studio version, by far. It stands up to classic tunes like "Unchained." They go from "Unchained" straight into "5150" and they both rock equally hard. Amazing stuff.
Both songs have the low E tuned down to D which makes a perfect segue for them. It is a great version of 5150. It's a tough one for Sammy to sing. We got Dreams instead of 5150 on the summer leg of the 1993 tour in the States.
Ram4 Oh, that's a substitute I am not in favour of. 5150 is the far superior tune. Yes, the drop D tuning do make them a powerful 1, 2, combination. I liked the Unchained/Top Of The World combo in 03, too.

Aris Alamanos I agree, one of the best sounding bootlegs from this tour. I was lucky to see them live on this tour and the Balance tour. In my opinion, this tour sounded great. But anyways, I have been spreading the word on VH vids and with VH fans...there is a guy on here named foamfoot55. He has many VH video bootlegs uploaded from the Sammy years. Not as good sounding as here, but still very cool to watch and hear. One is of the band at Cabo Wabo Cantina, I think 1992, and at the end they start doing cover songs...Dazed and Confused, Communication Breakdown, The Ocean by Led Zep and some other songs from other bands...it is very cool to hear Eddie doing these covers. There are couple more of them at Cabo Wabo uploaded, but that particular one very special. Cheers!
Agreed, I love these Bootleg vids and audio recordings. The official live album "Right here right now" was way to heavily re-done and doctored in the studio. I think that's dishonest and treats their audience like idiots. The the official live Video with the same name is good.
DAMN, look at the wall of amps and cabinets behind Eddie. I was front row with a similar set up at a VH show in the states. It was so loud. My ears rang for many hours!
Yeah Man ! Awesome bootleg. Im a VH fan from the beginning, mostly cause of Eds playing. I think over all Sammy was the best fit for the band. He really can sing an powerful. I saw them on this tour also and they did seem happy an loving life. I hear we may see them again together around 2018, would be awesome. Hope they mend the fences and kick ass again !
Saw the F.U.C.K. tour in Atlanta that year & this is a fine example of the amazing show they did! Also, some unknown band called "Alice in Chains" opened for them & its when Man in the box was all over the radio! So freakin cool!
@@peteandurnot it was Easter vacation in Norway and most people were out of town. Probably the worst date to have a concert except Christmas eve. I believe there were aprox 3000 people in the audience. Good for us attending because we got a very special concert.
@@sasha-inc still you'd think for a band like VH a lot of people would come back for it. Then again i think the Sammy Hagar era was never really as big in Europe as the David Lee Roth era.
I swear. I've heard quite of few the 92-93 boots and let me say this: The Live Right here Right Now album does NOT sound like it was fixed in the studio ( despite what the various rock websites claim and what Sammy said in his book ). The versions on that disc set and the live boots practically sound the same ( sonically ) to me. And Eddie's 1991-1995 tone just kicks hard!
I agree. The only reason they had to basically re-record most of that album is that once Eddie tinkered with one part of a song, the rest of the song sounded off so they had to re-do the whole thing and on-and-on. Kinda like pulling a card out of the bottom of a full house of cards. Pull one out and the rest of it crumbles down.
74 torino Just recently, someone released the Fresno 92 recordings of the Live RHRN set. You can hear the band playing their asses off. The only thing I’ve heard that’s different from the final set is the vocal mixes. My guess is the band worked on Sam’s vocals and did extra touches on the BGs. But that’s it. ruclips.net/video/wSsbbyK4RrI/видео.html

Five FUCK songs, Five 5150/OU812 songs, Five DLR era songs, 2 Sammy/Solo songs, Sammy&Eddie duo, Bass solo, Drum solo, Eddie solo; what a show! If Sammy isn't capable and humble, then no one is...Panama, Unchained, Jump, Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love, and You Really Got Me...WOW
I totally agree dude. DLR is showman/poor mans circus entertainer that lucked out for 11 years. Sammy is a musician, a song writer, an entertainer, and a PERFECT fit with Eddie, Alex, Michael, and probably Wolfie. Because they are all MUSICIANS in their soul. DLR is like I said a poor mans Circus entertainer at best.
Man, you know guys, I was just thinking, I would have loved to hear Sammy do a version of the song Year To The Day! That's honestly one of my favorite VH songs, even tho it's with Gary on vocals. He is pretty good but I feel Sammy would kill it if he did that song.. Eddie's guitar work on that one is epic! Just a thought I had lol
VH deserve to work with both.... DLR and SH....they have to make an album with the two singers and tour with both too and please give us back Michael Antony !!!!!
This is one of of the things I really regret in my life…fuck…this was Easter evening and I was up in the mountains eating oranges and skiing. What a dumb ass priority in hindsight 🤘 this bootleg is awesome - incredible sound
Eddies tone when he came on the scene in 78...killer, duh. It's what put him on the map. As for the EVH Ernie Ball and Peavey 5150''s on this tour, I think he nailed his own tone, own thing again. The FUCK album, great album, but at first I felt Eddie's guitar was "muffled in the mix"...maybe it sounded that way to me just because it was new and overkill of anticipation and curiosity as to what Eddie would do next . I saw the 95 tour in Toronto, but I really wish I also saw this tour. Compare any of this now to watching another singer butcher his own songs...yes you know who. VH were having true fun at this stage of time.
Holy shit they were amazing. Ed’s tone with the Musicman and first gen 5150 is glorious.
Awesome show

Man, you know guys, I was just thinking, I would have loved to hear Sammy do a version of the song Year To The Day! That's honestly one of my favorite VH songs, even tho it's with Gary on vocals. He is pretty good but I feel Sammy would kill it if he did that song.. Eddie's guitar work on that one is epic! Just a thought I had lol
Killer mix...
Wow! A FU**** Good Show!
I love how Sammy belts it out around the 22:00 mark just before There's Only One Way To Rock...
Magic together Ed& Big Red.Hell I miss VH

Good going, Ed
This show proves why halen with sammy was bad ass.sorry Dave.
Wow that's a lot of amps!
Eddie and Alex said Mr. Anthony can't play the bass but 27 minutes into this says differently.
get over it already........
Ugh.. These were the days..
VH deserve to work with both.... DLR and SH....they have to make an album with the two singers and tour with both too and please give us back Michael Antony !!!!!
Sammy took it to the next level. Diamond Dave couldn't hang, not even close.
A game here. Love it.
❤
To hear Eddie Van Halen singing the second verse skip to -> 54:21
Jeez what a band!
This is one of of the things I really regret in my life…fuck…this was Easter evening and I was up in the mountains eating oranges and skiing. What a dumb ass priority in hindsight 🤘 this bootleg is awesome - incredible sound
There's only one way to rock is friggin awesome !
we luv this vid! yeah ! vh forever from mtw culver city california
vh forever yeah from MTW
Tone, especially on 5150. Dam they sound great
Eddies tone when he came on the scene in 78...killer, duh.
