First ever Van Halen visit in Norway. In the middle of easter so around 3000 fans was attending this day. What a great show they put on. Poor Eddie tried to play Norwegian wood but it aint easy.
It was a big chance to film this show. The security was really tight. Had the camera under my jacket.

Whoever managed to get a clunky 90s camera into this concert, and film the entire concert in this quality? That person would be *perfect* candidate to work for an intelligence agency :) I was at the concert the next day (Copenhagen, similar performance) and security was tight. Thanks a million for capturing this lovely moment of a great era.

@@ralphtom3431 That`s because this is the master video tape. Back then, video cameras usually got natural tape compression. Just like many cassette players did. That`s why the sound from bootlegs in the 80/90s often have pleasant audio quality.

Playing Unchained followed by 5150 was the type of the thing that didn’t have enough during the Hagar era. Where they would play the hard rocking album deep cuts from both eras. Hearing those 2 songs back to back was BEYOND AWESOME!!!

Wow! I am always searching for rare Van Halen footage and I have never come across this. Saw them in Sacramento during this tour. They were amazing but I don't think I've ever heard them sound better than this. Eddie is on fire, Sammy singing his ass off, Mike and Alex locking it down with the rhythm section. Awesome. RIP to the late, great EVH. You were the best ever, the music of my life.

@@soeffingwhat That's too bad 😔, yeah I get impression that there weren't many at this Norway gig.
I decided to go to Birmingham quite last minute so they were definitely still on sale a couple of weeks beforehand if my memory serves me correctly. As I said I was right near the back so could've sold out in that time??...I remember looking behind me at the Sheffield crowd and it seemed full. It was just like the US crowds with banners and someone threw Sammy a Sheffield football shirt (can't remember which team) and it got half the crowd booing.🤣
I was quite shocked that so many people were there as I didn't think they were that popular although they hadn't been since '84

The F.U.C.K era was definitely their tightest tour ever. Man did they sound good! So much tighter then with Roth. He was always wasted or messing up the words/singing half the lyrics. Sammy really put out live and it showed. Now,you can argue about the quality of the music,(I think the Roth era was better) but the performances with Sammy are head and shoulders above the ones they did with Roth.

Saw this tour on September 14th in Denver at an outside venue called Fiddler's Green. We had an early season snowstorm with over a foot of wet snow. The show went on. It was wild. Very good show, I think this was this version of VH at its best. I really wish Ed would get back with Sam and Mike. There's far too much good music left on that table to walk away from it and we, the fans, deserve better than the VH with a Dave that can only screech and a Wolfie that isn't Mike. Tokyo Dome is a waste of time, fucking hideous shit.

I know everyone loves Ed’s tone on VH1, although I think VH2 the little bit cleaner sound showcased his virtuosity better, but this high gain tone, with addition to.. sounds like pretty thick chorus to me, is pretty sweet as well. That jam they do right after Anthony’s solo showcases tones and energy really complimenting each other . He’s real expressive in cathedral here.

John Westcott. Roth screws up the lyrics on every song. But i like em both!

IMO this band was SO much better with Sammie vs DLR, This show is another one that proves my point....and its NOT even close. Eddie is AWESOME!!

I think Eddie is done with the past. Sure, he's working with Dave again, but the band is Ed, Al, and Wolf now. I don't see that changing. He's too healthy now to go backwards. But having said that, I think it would be cool to see Sammy & Mike show up on stage during the next tour, and give the band a hug or something...

..even though Sammy's trouser's did at that time and still does remind me of my Norwegian military undergarment when in the force; "lang, ull, under, vinter", or english translation; "long, wool, under, winter..." Loose and comfy for all body parts below the waist hahaha.... but this was close after the 80's man!

Only 3.000 to see Van Halen in Spektrum??? Max capacity are well close to 10.000 people. Wish I were a little bit older, I would for sure be at this concert. Look and sounds like it was a great gig.
