Here she talks to Anupama Chopra about directing her actors #RanveerSingh & #AliaBhatt in Dharavi, putting the focus on Hindustani #hiphop and ensuring an authentic vibe throughout. The filmmaker tells us about the process of collaborating with over 50 hip-hop artist to create the music of the movie and getting her father and lyricist Javed Akhtar to also jam with them.     That bit at 21:14 where Zoya asked some kids to write a love song and they refused to do it is really interesting. That is quite a show of character for those young artists.

    She is not just a sharp, observant and very skilled storyteller, but she also chooses the most inspiring and interesting plots and overall probably has the best taste in the industry when it comes to asthetics, music and tact. I wish I could be there at the premiere in Berlin! Missing out on a once in a lifetime chance :-(

    Have watched all of Zoya's films, and I'm really glad that her true inherent spirit is very much a part of all her movies.     what an interview! Zoya Akhtar is possibly the most intelligent filmmaker in Hindi cinema. Although, I must add, Anupama Chopra needs to stop asking every single person "when are you going to make/act in women-centric movies" ...it's monotonous and losing its value because of her repeating the Q like some champion of women. Please, stop, yaar. Loved Zoya's response to that!
