My favorite scene is when ranveer as driver walking towards the club entrance and bouncer tells him to go back and out of fustration he raps in his car and the girl comes out crying and then ranveer narrates in his mind "kehne ko hum pass lekin" in the car. So beautifully picturized!

Moeen and Safeena were such great characters. I know many would say that Safeena was so toxic which I completely agree with but Alia Bhatt was playing a 'character' which was written for her. So long as girls out there do not emulate it and understand that it's just a character in a movie all's good. And Vijay Verma what an actor he is. At times I hated his character and at times I sympathized with his character.

@@mrinalinimusic The difference between males and females is not the problem. It is anyway overrated in my opinion.
My problem is that why do all the females want a pat on their back for the success and hard work of one individual?
Zoya is good in her craft cause she has learned and mastered the art of film making. It takes years of study and practice. In fact, this is true for any field.
Your gender may give you a boost in certain skills but it is up to you to hone it and shape it.
For eg: men are supposed to be stronger than women but there are plenty of professional women fighters who can easily beat most of the men. It's cause they worked on their skillset and got better.

Gully Boy was truly a cinematic experience, and seeing Zoya extract something entirely new from Ranveer even in their second collaboration is a mark of excellence! Gully Boy’s biggest assets were its strong script, earnest performances, and of course, its music! I never thought I’d be so consumed by Murad’s journey to the extent where I didn’t see any trace of that energetic and hyped up off screen persona he has. The Doori sequence, Mere Gully Mein video shoot with MC Sher, the numerous father son interactions between Murad and his father, and the very final performance were just some of the many brilliant moments that stood out in such an emotional journey! Exactly my point. There were movies like Hum Appkay hain Khon and Jodaa Akber which is more then three hours. If a story is good and the director wants to tell story of every character and also it is gripping and entertaining then why not. Besides that Bollywood movies were always 3 hours long in the past.

Also Safeena dream too. watching from state I felt like i am with them in that gully. never happen to me before but this movie i know each character who's who's even its 2 or 3 min. like girl fight with safenaa. loveeeeeeee kudos to Zoya.

'Gully Boy' is a picture-perfect cinematic experience. Aptly named, this coming of age story of 'Murad' (Ranveer Singh), who lives in the slums of Dharavi in Mumbai, would end up making you longing for more even after two and a half hours of screen time. For some moments, you would be lost in appreciating how skillfully the movie captures the essence of Mumbai while moments later you would be blown away by the lyrics and music of the film. At some instance, you would find yourself whistling on a moving dialogue (true story btw :) and within no time you may find yourselves holding tears. The story is not just about a boy chasing his dreams and making it big, it's much more than that which makes it a brilliant film for which the credit goes to the writers and director, Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti. New age love is beautifully captured between 'Murad' and 'Sakeena' (Alia Bhatt), where in a sequence the couple breaks up over phone when the relationship goes through some stress and patching up in a second some days later. Family issues and bonding are portrayed life like with apt potryals by Amruta Subhash and Vijay Raaz as Murad's parents. Friendship is also an essential part of the movie where Vijay Verma and Kalki Koechlin light up the screen in their short roles. A mentor protege relationship is key to the story and Siddhant Chaturvedi's potryal as 'Sher' stands out amongst the lot of supporting actors. Casting is pitch perfect and so are the performances. Alia is just fantastic as a fiesty, smart medical student 'Sakeena' who embodies women of today's era who want to break free from middle class boundaries and find pragmatic solution to the problems faced by girls at her age. The stage however, literally and metaphorically, belongs to Ranveer Singh who in my opinion has given one of the finest performances ever seen in Indian cinema, period. His art of playing a naive Murad at first and his journey of transformation to a professional rapper is simply soulful. Please do yourself a big favour and watch this 'beautiful' masterpiece on the big screen and thank your lord that you have the access to this picture perfect cinematic experience.
