Another great video, Brandon. I've been using those 1/64 oz eyehole jig heads the last couple of times I've been out and love them. They don't come off with a loop knot like I mentioned to you in the video right before this one like their other jig heads do sometimes.
You got me on that 4 lb vicious after you showed me how to spool it in the water. I have one rod rigged up with 5lb braid to 6lb fluorocarbon leader but seems like the braid likes to float a bit too much especially on windy days. I'll get used to it though. I have taught all my friends how to spool their line in a sink or a bucket of water and you've got several believers here on Lake Murray South Carolina now. 😉👍
Another great video! Last year I caught a 18-20# flathead on your recommended crappie setup in almost the exact spot you caught that smallie! Bent my jighead almost straight and made a nasty mess on my carpet but didn't break my line (I think my leader was 6#).

Would you be able to show from time to time your FFS view? If you were fishing standing timber and the crappie were suspended in the top of the trees, would your setup and presentation be similar to this? How about if the crappie were further down in the submerged standing timber?
@@ronknight779 depends on how thick the timber is and how many horizontal limbs it has. If I can get by with it I use the same setup in timber, but if it’s too thick you have to fish it vertically. Thanks for watching
Why don't u bend the barb down o that hook so u don't have to tear a hole in his mouth to get the jig out it don't matter it 1 or 2 get off u not keeping any anyway
I can second your point on not jigging the bait. Where I live we have more shallow water crappie on the river. The channel I fish them at is like 5ft deep I put a jig about 12-18 inch below the bobber and just slowly reel it in with an occasional stop. I used to do that popping the pole stuff but I found I caught far fewer fish

Glad you mentioned the slow reel in. I noticed the same thing when popping every few seconds not many bites vs slow reeling almost a bite every cast.
