    Brandon, you may think those fish were not particularly big, but in Oreon they would be trophies! Not that we do much crappie fishing, but it seens when they are schooled up, a white hair jig is the go-to, and if they don't bite that, they don't seem to bite anything. It is either hot, or not. That largest one looked to be about the same weight as our average smallmouth.

    I’ve seen first hand were it came down to jig head color when fishing with a friend. Have him the same jig body I had on. My jig head was white and his was white with pink. When he put on a white jig head he started catching fish. Another quality video. Thanks so much.

    I fish the tidal lakes in South Alabama off of the Mobile river. I paint my own jig heads and here they prefer black and chartreuse colors in most situations I have one lake about 6 miles north they prefer black only and second is the gold trout magnet color. Great show and very informative.

    When Crappie fish in western Ky I usually just use the plain colored jig head. 1/32oz on calmer days and 1/16oz on windy days cuz I’m definitely a line watcher. I normally just switch up on jig body colors. More natural colors like Monkey milk color in clear water and the MoGlow Electric chicken in Stained water. I’ll have to try the colored jig head with the more natural colored bait some time when they get finicky. Thanks for the tips.

    I only use a black head, only because that’s what I have confidence in, but trust me I got every color that I don’t use.😊

    Some time they will hit any color. Have to figure what they want for that day. Depending on weather it can change during the day. Highly recommend booking a crappie trip with Brandon. Fish with him last week had a ball and caught some big crappie thanks again Brandon.

    I fish lake of the ozarks and I have found a pink jighead to be the color winner. I use pink powder paint and can do 100 jigheads in about 40 minutes.

    For me I only care about the color of the plastic color for the most part. I have a few thousand unpainted jigheads 1/48th- 3/8th oz. Every now and then I'll glue some realistic eyes on them. When the bite gets tough then MAYBE I'll try a different color head

    What do you do when you see the fish chase your jig but they won't bite?
    Crazy question: Can they smell human scent on the bait and it turns them off?

    • @BrandonLesterFishing
      @BrandonLesterFishing  2 месяца назад +1

      @@drjaywhitlock I do use scent from time to time. Can they smell human scent? I don’t think so, but scent on your bait definitely helps put the odds in your favor. Sometimes no matter what you do they just won’t bite. In that case I move on and find a school that will
