My husband made biscuits and gravy for our day after Christmas. We have one dog that eats a little biscuits and gravy in her breakfast and one that only wants the biscuit in his. He was moving slow to breakfast not realizing he had a biscuit this morning and out of the memory banks of years ago I asked him, “Don’t you want your rubber biscuits?” Now here I am and all the memories of my last few years of high school came flooding in.

I remember the day John died. I heard it on the radio as I was driving to visit my boyfriend. He shared an apartment with my brother back then.
When I walked in, they had The Blues Bros. album playing, cranked up and everyone was laughing and singing along. I told them I just heard about this, and you guys sure seem cheerful about bad news!
    "Ummm, WHAT???"
That's when everything stopped and they were both gobsmacked. They had NOT heard, they were just really digging that album because it was so good.
    I felt like Debbie Downer.

I have never ONCE cried for him ....he knew I was pissed...I still haven't forgiven him my rage has doubled down to a sadness that can't be described...he's not rip...what happened was evil incarnate and he was fooled by users he thought were his friends...ces deliberately killed him for 25 minutes of fame. Nobody cared about her even less now that she's dead too...some loss ...everybody who knew John wondered wtf was he doing with ces...it didn't end well...

You might be surprised shocked impressed and dumbfounded all at the same time. For instance while filming the blues brothers movie in the hood in chicago late one night john had disappeared. Hadnt been seen in several hours. The outcome of this story will show how john felt about his status in fame and how he treated people . I think youll find the story easily enough if youre curious. My bar exam included an essay question relating to the alleged copyright infringement of the “Rubber Biscuit” lyrics. I rolled on the floor and never finished my essay.

Wow that's interesting if true that you really had an essay question about the copyright infringement regarding Rubber Biscuit. My father Kinrod Johnson wrote it , so it's not alleged,in fact he won a large sum of money from the lawsuit. When I saw all of the zeros on the checks he received my eyes grew wider than they ever have in my life.

Classic Rock on MV: thanks for posting. We lost Jake on this day(March 5) in 1982. His tombstone reads "I May be gone but Rock & Roll lives on". Cheers!

These guys are so much better than you may think they are. They honestly loved the Blues. It should have probably stopped after John passed away though. Now it is just like The Blue Brother (Dan) and whoever he got to wear the suit next to him. I will take Jim Belushi as a Brother in place of John but sorry, John Goodman as a Blues Brother? Love the man as an actor but yea, he is not a Blues Brother like I love them. The Blues Brother movie is one of my all time favorites but even I will say Dan pissed all over the memory by doing Blues Brothers 2000. Shows you how good John was in the first one and how bad he was missed in the second one even WITH Clapton in it. That screaming you heard during the second one was John in Blues Heaven yelling at Dan NO ACKROYD!!! DON'T DO IT!!!

I just want to say, Dan Ackroyd is not at fault for blues brothers 2000, he wanted to do one with Jim, but the company wanted it made more family friendly, Dan wanted to quit but they forced him, he didn’t even get payed to keep the budget down

@@themysteriouscatperson9483 I don't know for sure but I would not be surprised if Dan and the Belushi estate (or whoever is handing the business of John's name and image) owns a good hunk of the Blues Brothers name so that being said, I can only hope that Dan got SOMETHING from the movie. He just didn't look all that happy in the film. At least to me he didn't. Maybe I am reading to much into it. BB2000 is just a hard movie to watch. Again, just my opinion. Sure there are those who love it. The first one was an all time classic and just a hard one to top. I may have said the same things even if John was alive and in BB2000. There just was not anything in the first movie that screamed that it needed a sequel.

    1. Elwood doesn't repeat any the the scat lines. Each one ends differently. That's pretty amazing to keep that straight throughout the song.
    2. As upbeat as this song sounds, it's actually talking about living in such extreme poverty that you can't get anything but a spartan meal, if you get it at all. Pretty depressing.
