What a great talent and a great show! If you didn’t live during the 70’s you don’t understand what a revolutionary thing Saturday Night Live was then. It was a new, realer kind of comedy. When SNL first hit the air waves, I remember as a third grader I’d spend the night at my best friend’s house. We would stay up late watching the show. I’d usually fall asleep before making it to the end, but not because the show was boring. Just because I was a kid. I tried watching the show at my parent’s house, but my father didn’t much care for it. He used to call it, “that common show” with “the dirty humor.” It used to bug the Hell out of me, because he’d sit there smoking a cigarette and look at me saying, “Why aren’t you laughing? I thought you liked this common show.” Kinda ruined the mood, but it didn’t stop me from watching. I still watch the show today.
One of THE best and most creative intros I've seen for any show ever! Belushi, you were one magnificent bastard!

“The new kid, Bill Murray” That line made me feel old.
And yet, it's somehow reassuring. Even Bill Murray had to be a 'new kid' at some point in his life. There's hope for all of us.
