To get a gold medal in a mission you need to complete each of the objectives. These differ from mission to mission. You need to complete all objectives in one attempt of the mission to get the gold medal. You can retry each mission as many times as you want from the story part of the progress menu.

I found going on your horse to look for the bounty hunters really useful. That little vantage point to see them as well as the speed must save at least 15 seconds or so

Thank you so much! I am doing missions for gold trophy in replay mode. The first time I had done this mission during story progression, I kid you not I spent some 5 mins running in the field like a headless chicken. This time, got it. You rock!

I had been struggling with this one; specifically kill the guys in the cornfields. I found a real easy way. Although small, you have a slight window of opportunity when they first run into the fields. I used dead eye and gunned both down within 2 seconds. Still had to go through as normal for third and the 2 in the barn but got gold at the end

I don't know why my comment was posted on another user's comment, but just tried this and confirm that it works (I killed 1 before they entered cornfields with deadeye rifle)

I think it's patched, I shot them both before they hid and the gun only hit them with white x marks. You need to run up some. And it's buggy, even if you do kill them both fast, it seems like you need to be near them or the timer doesn't stop until the other guy talks about the 3rd... if you have enough dead eye, you can run up a little bit and just turn it on checking across the entire field until the get checked off. That's what you need to do for both.
Can confirm this works. Killed them within seconds of regaining control of Arthur. Very easy. Thanks.
If u shoot the man u have fight with, u get a cool cut- scene with Arthur getting the info in a funny way

Ben been doing a second platinum run, and man you are the best! Used you for the 1st run and 2nd run is much easier as I am not doing any replays. Thanks again! Almost 1/2 way to gold with this one down.

Platinum Chasers - Yes sadistic move...actually much easier 2nd time. I gave my oldest son the family PS4 account which had all my Platinums, so I am replaying the big ones on my new account. I should get dad of the year for this...LoL
"Kill 2 Bounty Hunters in the cornfields within 1 minute" objective was a really tricky one as you get one shot only at it with very little time, otherwise its back to the beginning again. Had a number of failed attempts but this video helped a lot so thanks Ben.
My top tip would be if you fail to find the bounty hunters quickly and you know all is lost for the objective, go to the abandon mission screen and reload the checkpoint (before killing the 2nd bounty hunter). It doesn't help with the current attempt of the mission, but it provides a valuable opportunity to practice finding the two bounty hunters so that when it counts for real next time, you have had a chance to master it.

Thanks for the strat with the Bounty Hunters, I was thinking of using Dead Eye to kill them before you have to find them again, but kept failing the objective.

Thanks for all the tip guys, explosive bullet, ride your horse hurry to 1st bounty hunter location on the video to save time on the 2nd One, if you fast enough he still hiding on left side corn field before moving again. another info, the "tracking stay within 30 feet" will get red checklist after you interogate, and "2 bounty within 1 minute" will get red check after you kill the 3rd bounty hunter. And FYI, You know what, I got the gold just after posting this info :D. Feb 11 2022
Pro tip: you can shoot both bounty hunters with deadeye before they enter the cornfields
I manage to kill the first two bouts hunters much quicker than OP does here and yet the mission keeps saying I haven't killed them within a minute. I've timed it: I've killed them both within 30 seconds and yet apparently I have not killed them them "within one minute" according to the gold medal requirements.
great guide helped me quite a bit , I always create a save before I attempt the gold run as I heard replying the missions can be tough ...Great Guide tho
I managed this on my third replay, the first two I tried to shoot them as they ran into the cornfields but the shots weren't registering even though I got headshots. Then on the third try I used the method in the video and managed to get the gold medal.
Remember to pick up the rare rolling block rifle in this mission with the enemies who are shooting out the massive barn!!
First time I tried it those two guys at the camp we’re immune to damage and killed Charles causing me to fail the mission
They added no health items requirement so you can't restart wt checkpoint. Also, I used a timer to measure a minute and I got the first two in less than a minute, but it still didn't count. I'm kind of furious...
yeah i followed the trail perfectly yet it didn't count as "While tracking, stay within 30 feet of the Trelawny’s trail"

This is my least favorite mission so far. I can't get them in less than one minute, and the mission is long and boring as hell. I've wasted three days now, since by the time I've messed it up for over an hour I can't play anymore without losing my mind.

And me, I literally don't stray from the trail at all. 5 attempt now. Tried on a reset, console on and off, after doing a few more missions and going back to it...Still not. It's bugged, very annoying.
I'm assuming I can't fail and reset the timer on this one right? I'm gonna have to play the whole mission over again if I don't catch them both in one minute? Super.
Afraid so. There's a health item objective here and you'll fail that if you restart.

@@chauminh7856 No I turned the tracking camera off and ran past the corn with the camera positioned to Arthur's side so I could quickly clear the rows of corn.

Still as of today, just killed both guys before they enter the fields in Dead Eye, easy...
Thanks for you videos they are grate, so I have done this twice now on replay. I cant get the gold it keeps saying i have taken a help cure which i have not. I guess it is glitched.

You know what makes me laugh about this mission? I never got the challenge for the 3 clues or staying next to the trail.....but killing 2 people in 1 minute was ticked 😂😂😂😂

Bullshit i been trying for almost an hour 😡😡😡 i shoot the guys 5 times and they didn't want to die and ran away plus the stupid finsih without taking any health items objective that forces you to restart the whole mission 😡😡😡
Same, I just hit them both with three rounds each from my Bolt Action and they didn't die.

I finally did it try to run quickly to the open area between the two fields on the right and wait for the first guy to pass and kill him using dead eye then go left to take the second guy

Also, why would u want that rare rifle?! I looked at the stats and it's not any better stats than the other rifles you have.. Except the shot gun and the cattle rifle I believe it's called? On to of that you can't just take it like you been keeping the others.. You have to give up one of yours for it and the stats on it don't look worth it trading yours. Definitely not anything special enough to call it rare.. Also, why would u want that rare rifle?! I looked at the stats and it's not any better stats than the other rifles you have..
