Decent tips, here's a few more: -Holding down Circle will directly exit from most menus, without having to go back through all the sub menus. This can also be used to tear down your camp directly from sitting at it, without having to get up first. -Holding the pause button will take you directly to the map. -You can feed, brush, and medicate your horse while riding it. Hold L1, then go to the horse wheel (the third one along, press R1). On the left of the wheel is all the items you can feed to your horse, on the right is the brush, and at the top is medicine and stimulants. To brush or medicate, you have to slow down to a trot, but you don't have to wait for the animation to finish to speed back up, you can just hit the brakes, select whichever, then immediately return to a gallop. -Always remember to use eagle eye. It can highlight items to loot, help you catch fish, show collectibles such as dream-catchers, give you vision through fog, snowstorm, dust storm, or darkness, and all kinds of other things. The controller rumbles when you pass near a collectible or discover-able. If you feel a buzz while riding along, stop and look for a dream-catcher, weird tree, burial ground, or some other point of interest. -Always use express ammunition. Costs not much, and you can get your guns cleaned while at the gunsmith. -If you set a waypoint, then go into cinematic camera while riding, your horse will auto drive to the location. Tap X a few times and it'll gallop there. -Gators in the bayou are an endless source of the best food item in the game. Cooked big game meat fully restores all your cores, add some seasoning and it'll give you golden cores. Also, having seasoned variants allows you to store 4 times as much, as the limiter counts each different seasoned type separately. -Keep your eyes open for a pristine badger, if you see one, kill it with the varmint rifle and skin it. The little bastards are hard to find, and you need a perfect badger skin to get the legendary satchel, which you will definitely want to get. Speaking of... -Get the legend of the east satchel (takes a few hours, but definitely worth it) and you can hold 99 of just about anything, most pertinently, hay and big game meat. 99 hay only cost $25, $13 with high honour, and it greatly restores horse cores, your horse will never go hungry again. As previously stated, gators will provide as much big game meat as you could ever eat. Now there's no excuse for having depleted horse or player cores, take better care of yourselves guys. Oh, and you'll also be able to carry 99 health tonics, cocaine gum, and chewing tobacco, so you'll never run out of health, stamina or ded-I. There are plenty of online guides for getting the legendary satchel.

When stealing the Arabian horse just pat it a few times while standing by it. When its calm take your saddle off your horse and put it on the Arabian and it won't try and buck you off at all. The whistle and have your old horse follow you to where you want to stash your old horse.
@@Thejmoberg Try doing another mission and come back. I believe you have to at least do the 2 Hosea missions in chapter 2. I've tried to campout over night, ride off a bit and return etc. and nothing it wouldn't show up. I think you just have to finish a certain mission in chapter 2 before you can get it.
I've always used dead eye like this. It's always felt like it doesn't waste nearly as much dead eye time and lets you be accurate and quick. Tagging multiple targets is still useful in up close situations where you're outnumbered like 3 to 1 at least. Need to drop people as quickly as possible before taking a bunch of damage. I love the white arabian. Gives you a fast, reliable horse very early on without having to worry about finding one with good stats. I just wish the horse was a little larger of a breed, so it doesn't look like a pony compared to everyone else's horse in the gang.
I prefer the black arabian tbh. In chapter 2 as soon as you can free roam head to Saint Denise and go into the city after midnight... a guy will try to mug a couple and kill the wife. The husband stays by the wife and a black arabian will be just a bit past them. Grab the horse and go. Easy free black arabian
@@Pr0digyZRX It's available in Saint Denis starting at 9:00 PM. I used to get that horse on the road West of the cemetery. I prefer to just get the Silver Dapple Pinto Missouri Fox Trotter now. I can get it on the 5th day of Chapter 2 by doing the first 2 Albert Mason missions as soon as possible. Then it's the third mission for him. For me the horse isn't near as big a priority at the start of Chapter 2. Though I do start the Albert Mason mission on day 1 of Chapter 2, I also get the Bolt Action Rifle & Schofield revolver from Valentine (both free) & start the Jack Hall & High Stakes treasure hunts, as well as do some looting. Then my focus is on getting my Legend of East Satchel as soon as possible.
Tip: While your at Lake Isabella getting your white horse grab the cobalt petrified wood. It's right next to the lake in a shallow rock overhang. You'll need it to craft a trinket later on. Might as well hunt and kill the legendary bison while you're in that area as well. :)
YES. I act like the missions are as big of trips as they are lol I research everything I can do in the area and try to knock as much out as I can. The game is pretty enjoyable (even more enjoyable rather) this way. Ive been away from camp for like a week and they actually send people out looking for you which is cool.
Playing as rains fall as a young brave would be cool. And I think a native themed red dead would really fit the series. Since its always about the end of an era. We could see how his tribe was finally beaten and forced onto the reserve. There's very few braves left in rain falls tribe other than the young men his sons age. So obviously they fought hard for a time.
Or even better seeing Jack Marston get partially involved in the Prohibition organized crime and have a story about that. He would be nearing Arthur's age from RDR2.
@@counterstrifekid that might be cool, but I think I’m just an Arthur fan. I actually don’t even like playing John. So much so that I never even finished RD2 🤷🏻♀️ I’m at like 87% and meh. I miss Arthur. 😂
@@enlightenedmcgee Now while I know playing as Arthur really is a great experience for the game, I have to say the epilogue was very well put together as well playing with John. In fact I liked it so much that at the end of the game I was so amazed of Arthur’s and John’s story that I went back to play RDR to finish John’s story! I’m gonna go back and play this again and make Arthur be a bad outlaw lmao, I made all the good choices in the game and got the highest honor at the end.
Are you really hearing Rockstar say that? If you're not personally acquainted with a dev-----you may want to seek psychiatric help. Just a thought. No judgment. We all go a little crazy sometimes.
Yes it is indeed a life saver lol everytime when i'm on the run for the law or a wild animal i sometimes can't control my horse so when i want to dodge trees she wont turn so yeah then she runs into the trees 😂
5:40 Facial covering only makes citizens less likely to recognise you when you are an unknown suspect. The law will immediately know that you are the outlaw they're looking for.
DUDE that letting go of the left thumbstick is GENIUS... damn near was mauled by a grizzly last night cuz i kept running into trees... had just a sliver of health left... ruined the pelt to no end... stupid trees
Cool tips, also if you do commit a crime with a mask on you can even take it off and walk through the area and the cops might question you, Arthur will give answers that sound like he's lying but they'll believe you anyway and tell you to get lost lol
I just started playing this again for the first time since 2018. I forgot almost everything I knew about it, so this video was quite helpful. Thank you and thank you to all the wonderful commenters that left helpful comments as well 😊
Johnny Austin I mean that’s what it was. I don’t see why you doubt it. No reason to really, other than being a fucking 10 year old dickhead. I also don’t think you know what pathetic means, which is why you use it incorrectly. My names a reference btw, got nothing to do with me.
This was actually really helpful in regards to avoiding trees. I pretty much do all the other suggestions already (cycling in and out of dead eye is the best for maximizing dead eye) but those trees have been a major issue and thanks to your tip I am able to avoid them. I do have to say that the Arabian is not my preferred horse, I prefer a stout war horse with decent acceleration, there stamina and health are maxed out and I find that there isn't much difference in acceleration in a chase. Just a matter of preference..
Here's one most people don't know you can lock onto people animals etc.. twice as far as guns with arrows an arrows will fly 3xs as far an if locked onto target arrows will go around curves there like a homing missile. Best item to use. If killing a person use poison or big arrows so target is downed in one shot
Sooo... my horse is on “auto pilot” cinematic mode riding a long distance between 2 cities... So some jerk is herding his sheep in the road, I mistakenly run one over while on auto pilot, NPC goes rage and kills me 😂😂😂😂
Literally the first thing I did in chapter 2 was ride out of camp, notice two shepherds with their flock and a dog, trot over to them to say hi, accidentally trample their dog and then they became hostile and presumably the camp members killed them. Game treated it as an automatic game over because I had “led enemies to the camp.”
'Auto-pilot' is good if you are near to your TV. ... you can risk going to the bathroom or making something to eat.... although it is designed to kick you out of it when you get into a conflict. Also if you get your horse bonded enough .... you can drift it.
My tip I found out myself: If you want to fast travel (there is no option for that), put marker on the map where you want to go and ride the horse exacly on the road where it shows, then switch to cinematic mode. Now it automatically travels to your destination.
Side Note: if you just started Chapter 2 and can't seem to find the White Arabian, that's because you'll need to finish the mission with Hosea where you hunt a Legendary Bear
I’d argue the Missouri Fox Trotter is miles better than the Arabian. The Arabian spooks at EVERYTHING while the MFT can handle spooks so much better and the MFT with upgraded tack is 10 speed. Not the mention the silver dapple pinto is a gorgeous horse! I got mine using the rare horse spawn hack in like chapter 2, named him Merlin and he’s been incredible
Anyone else miss when these kinds of videos were everywhere for a good year or so? Just so many people playing the game, it was so much fun. Hopefully one day it'll get back to being close to that.
Very dependent on dead eye here.... its a great thing and useful, but there are plenty of other techniques to get standard aiming up without relying on deadeye so much. Then you can save your DE for when you REALLY need it. Once you get better at standard aiming for headshots, it's easier and faster than relying on dead eye. These days, I mostly use Dead Eye for long range hunting.
I dig these videos cause I've seen WAY too many that accidentally spoil things and ruin shit for me. But even when you were talking about the dynamite arrows, you said "after the mission with hosea" not "after you do ___ with ___ and ___." Extra caution really goes a long way. Great video
I use dead eye pretty much exactly like this. I will use the x-markers from time to time if I’m trying to do something specific but I typically just use it to slow time and stop it the instant I get the headshot I was going for. I almost never leave it active for multiple enemies unless they’re pretty much standing side by side. Strangely though, I didn’t realize that it reloaded the gun for you. That’s handy.
@@Hassony523 you know where you can steal that semi auto shotgun you can find a saddled up donkey there tag back made a video on the shotgun the donkey is outside the house. That is also the only one I've seen.

1: Get the Bolt Action rifle from the hanging in Valentine as soon as you enter chapter two. (make an extra save as a backup) 2: Best horse free: when hunting with Hosea, buy the cheap Morgan but do not leave the stable. Walk back into the stable and jump in to the Dutch Warmblood, feed it once and it`s yours. Just whistle when you return to Valentine
Improved arrows are better, they are the only weapon that can shoot thru multiple people at once. So far I've had up to 3 npcs lined up in a row and it takes all 3 down and keeps going thru the 3rd
I prefer the Andalusian horse over the Arabian. It’s not as fast, but it has higher courage, so it never gets spooked and never throws you off around legendary animals, gunfights, etc.
3:20 The Black Arabian can also be gotten almost immediatly and has higher stats you just have to find it from the random chance event in Saint Dennis at midnight near the casino there will be a couple arguing then getting robbed but if you take the horse from behind them ( you can save them of you want ) it's yours
You can email Sony and ask for your logs. I have a yearly “career” log sent to me, I’ve played Skyrim (PS3/PS4) for almost 4000 hours 😂😂 god I wish I was back in highschool again
I did the dead eye trick with out knowing all that, makes sense why I never reload and cycle through 3 guns with multiple shots and never had a reload.
andrewleiser I’ve did that since the start of the game and makes u look more of a badass cause u shoot so fast. Once there was an attack on our camp and with that trick I killed 6 people coming out of a wagon without them even touching the ground. Makes shooting so much better
Would be really cool if you could tame wild animals or a normal dog and get them to come along with you as a replacement for your horse, having them fight with you. Imagine a cougar attacking your enemies for you lol.
Dude, after the countless hours of watching different videos only to find out I knew all those tips, you have struck gold with me on this video. Thanks for the effort and everything making this video. I shall now subscribe. Nice job, dude!
This makes me want to restart the game. Doesn’t matter because I sick anyway and keep shooting the gun when I don’t mean to and accidentally getting myself into more trouble. Ughhh.

3:37 that’s a lie. You need to do the hunting mission with hosea before you can get the white Arabian. That mission unlocks the stable at Valentine. Otherwise the horse won’t spawn
I confirm, I was looking for the horse and after I read this comment I went straight to Hosea, completed the mission and came back. The horse was waiting there in the middle of the road. Nice horse :-)
That's all useful stuff, but the real advice is find all legendary gunslingers as fast as possible and get their guns,Billy Midnight has a golden engraved mauser which is by far the best pistol in the game Also look carefully at what the enemies are using during missions and grab all new weapons, some are hidden And also if you have money you can buy arabian horse in Saint Denis as well as 2 other horses with high stats
With the holding L3 while riding your horse you gain bonding every 5 seconds and stamina every 20 seconds if you get a new horse in 5 minutes you will have a fully bonded horse you just need to run for 3 or 5 minutes non stop I do it every time. (edit) oh I forgot to say you have to unsaddle your horse put it on your desired one you want and run oh and you also have to have top grade horse saddle and horse gear 😬😐
You can have 5 horses also 4 in stable. Ride or lead any horse to camp put saddle on it take off ride off on other horse 2nd horse will remain there forever or until switched.
The end had me rolling... "bonus tip guys Mules are rideable, pretty much the best mounts in game, and I highly recommend you steel one and keep it forevvvveeeerrrrrrrrrr"
A common misconception, you do not have to complete the fence mission, simply head to St. Denis, the Fence their is available as soon as you finish Chapter 1 and are camped near Valentine. Your first time riding there may have the nearby gang harass you a bit, but you can simply avoid them, head into St. Denis, and start fencing those watches, rings, gold bars, and the like.
Thank you so much for the tip about the avoiding the trees!!! Since learning you're tip I've only hit trees once and that was a perfect storm situation where they were growing really close together and by the time I gave the horse control it couldn't move around them. Compare that to the dozens of time I use to hit them... Amazing!!
Who needs an Arabian horse when you got a war horse who's a goddamn tank? Them horses never spook, take a damned train hit to the face and got pretty good speed for their chunk. I've honestly never found the speed and acceleration to be enough need to get a pansy ass Arabian. Also most these tips are for a low moral playthrough, I'm all for the high honour.
@@hb1465 Glad to find a fellow beefy horse lover. :P I much prefer being able to take a big fall and lots of bullets than moving a bit faster. I'm not much for running away, I prefer to stay and fight, whether it's a buncha bandits or a bear.
Funny thing is mine died , so I borrowed a horse , then went back up to the snow and there was another white. This happened more than 2 -3 times. It may have been a glitch in the game though.

The only time to use it the other way is if you need to take out 3 or 4 guys close range and get the drop before they can all shoot you
I prefer the black arabian tbh. In chapter 2 as soon as you can free roam head to Saint Denise and go into the city after midnight... a guy will try to mug a couple and kill the wife. The husband stays by the wife and a black arabian will be just a bit past them. Grab the horse and go. Easy free black arabian
@@Pr0digyZRX
It's available in Saint Denis starting at 9:00 PM.
U can get a thoroughbred in Strawberry stables with almost the same stat as the Arabian
Tip: While your at Lake Isabella getting your white horse grab the cobalt petrified wood. It's right next to the lake in a shallow rock overhang. You'll need it to craft a trinket later on. Might as well hunt and kill the legendary bison while you're in that area as well. :)
Don't forget the legendary fish & the panoramic map
Thank you. I've searched all over the place for the petrified wood 👍
What part of the lake?
YES. I act like the missions are as big of trips as they are lol I research everything I can do in the area and try to knock as much out as I can. The game is pretty enjoyable (even more enjoyable rather) this way. Ive been away from camp for like a week and they actually send people out looking for you which is cool.
And there is also a treasure map in one of the cabins.
Tomahawks break off safe doors. I dont know if it is a bug or intended but it is free and quiet.
tbh better tip than entire video lol. he just recycled shit thats been tips since day 1 and put story spoilers in background gameplay lol
Sound Tribe how would he know?
That is the best tip so far! lol Thanks :D
Say whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat......and how tf do you plant dynamite
Kadeem Nunes Hold R2 to plant dynamite.
This really is the best video game I’ve ever played. I wish they’d make another one that begins where Arthur starts his outlaw life.
T. Critter sounds cool!!
Red Dead 2 is the freaking best thing that has happened to gaming in years... I can just hear Rockstar singing, "Can't Touch This"!
I'd politely disagree. CDProjekt was singing that song 3 years ago.

OMG!!! That tree dodging trick, is a life saver! Thank you so much for sharing that information. Trees are so deadly lol
Not watched the vid yet but if there is a trick to stop me from hitting trees im happy
Yes it is indeed a life saver lol everytime when i'm on the run for the law or a wild animal i sometimes can't control my horse so when i want to dodge trees she wont turn so yeah then she runs into the trees 😂
Yes the trick to dodging trees is to not steer at all. Haha.
Never underestimate the stopping power of a tree.
Yes! Idk how many times I've raged over smacking a Damn tree looking at this beautiful game
“Witnesses catch you trying to save some horses.”
*immediately kills 3 horses with exploding arrows.
Trying to bond with ur horse? DYNAMITE ARROWS xD
You can bond with a new horse during auto-run and not use any stamina .
🔥😂😂😂
Have you seen Gavin? Anyone!!! GAVIN!!!

Where the fuck is gavin ;c
I killed him because it was annoying passing by him every time and hearing that noise
He is my dear friend and I lost him! 🤣
Hahaha Gaaaaaavin!! Where the hellll is Gavin ¡!!!! Lol
I just started playing this again for the first time since 2018. I forgot almost everything I knew about it, so this video was quite helpful. Thank you and thank you to all the wonderful commenters that left helpful comments as well 😊

What I learned today: Rockstars don’t want us to know that dynamite arrows exist. Same with the buck trinket
Johnny Austin tell autocorrect dicknose
Johnny Austin I mean that’s what it was. I don’t see why you doubt it. No reason to really, other than being a fucking 10 year old dickhead. I also don’t think you know what pathetic means, which is why you use it incorrectly. My names a reference btw, got nothing to do with me.
@Johnny Austin Jesus you’re the one acting like a kid.
God i wish i knew about the horse Auto-Dodge, Lost the rhodes race to Dutch thanks to those trees
Lol! Same here!
Dont forget those fences... THE AUTO JUMP IS SOMETIMES NOT WORKING and i still get anxiety whenever i have to jump over a fence
have i ever lost a race? no no i have not. have i closed the game when im about to lose the race? yes yes i have
My brother shoots the other guy when he is close to losing.
I on the other hand can actually win them easily 👌
Did the race with Dutch in one of my play throughs, my horse died and I still managed to win
Best ad for dynamite arrows ever
Here's one most people don't know you can lock onto people animals etc.. twice as far as guns with arrows an arrows will fly 3xs as far an if locked onto target arrows will go around curves there like a homing missile. Best item to use. If killing a person use poison or big arrows so target is downed in one shot
Sooo... my horse is on “auto pilot” cinematic mode riding a long distance between 2 cities...
So some jerk is herding his sheep in the road, I mistakenly run one over while on auto pilot, NPC goes rage and kills me 😂😂😂😂
I feel the pain
TagBackTV how do u make the horse on auto pilot while on cinematic mode , i ve only done it in chapter 1
go into cinematic mode and double tap the run button
Literally the first thing I did in chapter 2 was ride out of camp, notice two shepherds with their flock and a dog, trot over to them to say hi, accidentally trample their dog and then they became hostile and presumably the camp members killed them.
Game treated it as an automatic game over because I had “led enemies to the camp.”
'Auto-pilot' is good if you are near to your TV. ... you can risk going to the bathroom or making something to eat.... although it is designed to kick you out of it when you get into a conflict.
Also if you get your horse bonded enough .... you can drift it.
Accidentally trample rabbits. That's all the camp needs.
I tried to trample rabbits but it seems that the rabbit can't be trampled :(
@@fahrigonzo I trample those shits all the time with my horse
Trampling rabbits is so satisfying 😂
@@fahrigonzo I have only ever done it on accident but it can happen.
M. Fahri It happens all the time by accident
My tip I found out myself: If you want to fast travel (there is no option for that), put marker on the map where you want to go and ride the horse exacly on the road where it shows, then switch to cinematic mode. Now it automatically travels to your destination.
I have used dead eye exactly the same way from the beginning. Works great to get constant head shots and take down many people with very little ammo.
Agreed. MFT is best breed of horse in the game.
I pet my horse constantly anyway lol 😂🤷♂️
Jermaine Cole me too lmao I do it with dogs too before I found out it adds their breeds to my animal list 😂
"I really recommend stealing it and keeping it FOREVER"
no i liked the one hosea gave me better
I dig these videos cause I've seen WAY too many that accidentally spoil things and ruin shit for me. But even when you were talking about the dynamite arrows, you said "after the mission with hosea" not "after you do ___ with ___ and ___." Extra caution really goes a long way. Great video
I love how you killed 3 horses to cover up saving the 2 horses in the dynamite arrow part.
Awesome tip video I use dead-eye the same way but I never realized it auto reloaded my weapon every time. Very informative as always.
I use mine this way as well seeing how I like to approach gang camps from a distance .
How does he use dead eye without tagging enemies tho?
Just to slow time . Then trigger .
Dynamite ;)
@@tebow954 Late reply but, it's a part of the story.
Whenever I get a new mount I just tie it to a tree or post over and over to gain a large quantity of bonding in a short period of time.
Another tip - Saving and loading in a player camp resets animal spawns, e.g. egrets
You can also ride donkeys 10/10 definitely recommend.
Acrocanthosaurus Supremis where? Can i ride one like in RDR1? I never seen a donkey in RDR2 yet.

“The roads are yours, and they’re gonna learn” lmao BIG FACTS.
Over 100 hours? The grind is real
Gravewalker I’ve already got 120+ hours 😂
Gravewalker nah I don’t know for PS4 sorry
@Gravewalker I don't think we can check as it is ☹☹☹
My current estimate is give or take 50 hrs and I'm at the very start of chapter 4
I would expect nothing less from a decent open world game
You can email Sony and ask for your logs. I have a yearly “career” log sent to me, I’ve played Skyrim (PS3/PS4) for almost 4000 hours 😂😂 god I wish I was back in highschool again
Here's mine. Once you've unlocked fast travel you can do it from a camp you set up, you don't have to go all the way back to your own camp every time.
ikr omg total game changer
Lonesome Wanderer think they have a game for that already .. far cry primal lol or assassin creeds origins
Peter Fabel I guess it wouldn't be very western either and a little bit OP ahah
That would be so unrealistic though
lol sounds like someone hasn't played MGS: The Phantom Pain
I was so hoping the camp dog cain got to play that role. Would have fit soooo well.

Double tapping LB when you have one revolver/pistol out, Arthur can spin the gun back into his gun holder. It’s pretty sick
4:31 "six speed" I was sure he was talking about transmission ROFL
"you might explode but it'll be fun!" best line in this video
This makes me want to restart the game. Doesn’t matter because I sick anyway and keep shooting the gun when I don’t mean to and accidentally getting myself into more trouble. Ughhh.
I really don’t think it was an accident that rockstar made it so easy to accidentally shoot somebody when really you just want to say something to that seems like a troll to me

That's all useful stuff, but the real advice is find all legendary gunslingers as fast as possible and get their guns,Billy Midnight has a golden engraved mauser which is by far the best pistol in the game
Also look carefully at what the enemies are using during missions and grab all new weapons, some are hidden
And also if you have money you can buy arabian horse in Saint Denis as well as 2 other horses with high stats
"The roads are yours, and they're going to learn." Great content, well done video, funny and non-annoying.
Everything except for the way you use Deadeye was news to me thanks for the video

As far as horses go, the chestnut red Arabian is by far my choice for a horse. Not the best horse but it’s gorgeous and still really fast.
It is actually the best horse, I use the black arabian which is a little worse but looks best in my opinion
With the holding L3 while riding your horse you gain bonding every 5 seconds and stamina every 20 seconds if you get a new horse in 5 minutes you will have a fully bonded horse you just need to run for 3 or 5 minutes non stop I do it every time.
Rhodes fence is closer early on(and like St. Denis available immediately in chapter2)

Thank you so much for the tip about the avoiding the trees!!!
Since learning you're tip I've only hit trees once and that was a perfect storm situation where they were growing really close together and by the time I gave the horse control it couldn't move around them. Compare that to the dozens of time I use to hit them... Amazing!!
Still doesn't save the stupid horse from running over other people 😆 I always blame the other rider, though. THEY GOT IN MY WAY.
I love your attitude your energy and most important you bro. Love the tips.
“This is a very, very good horse.” Yes. Yes she is.
Mehh. I like having options. Sometimes I need a horse that flies and the Arabian is good. Otherwise war horses are great for hunting/combat :)
