You can increase the bond with your horse by leading it by the reins for a bit. Petting a horse immadiently after a fullstop or in situations where it made a good job ( jumping over a fence, staying calm in dangerous situations etc) increases the bond also. Some doors are locked but sometimes you can enter a cabin by breaking the windows. Traveling with a second horse allows you to carry more hunted animals around. The first thing you wanna do after getting the leather tools is to let pearson craft the satchels for you. The camp in valentine lets you eat out of the pot similar to that of your camp. Nobody stops you from doing it. Burning(dynamite, molotow etc) people impedes looting them. You can shoot fish with guns or the bow. If you can't craft anything but seemingly have the recipe you may consider reading it to learn it. (I forgot it once and i really almost lost my sanity because of this) If you're stuck somewhere high where you'd fall and die, just set up a camp.
There’s a camp in Valentine? Also, I tried shooting a fish with a gun but didn’t have any luck. Do I have to have unlocked fishing first? Because I haven’t done that yet. I was able to shoot/kill a water snake though, so maybe I just had bad aim with the fish and gave up too fast because I didn’t see any signs that it was doable.
@@anti-ethniccleansing465I shot a fish with the bow almost right away at the second camp. 20 hours in and I still haven't found where I get the fishing rod (so much to do and get distracted by). So I shoot them.
@@petrac2840 Yeah, I was able to successfully shoot a fish later when I tried again - I just had bad aim before. Anyways, you should have learned to fish in Chapter 2 before you moved camps (you take little Jack out fishing, and the two Pinkerton men talk to you).
@@petrac2840 You have to zoom in a certain amount before you can see the symbol but on the map you can see a symbol with a hook called "bait shop" where you can get a fishing rod from. There is one at Lagras which is the lake north-west above saint denis, hope this helped!
But remember! Cinematic mode doesn't mean you can just walk away or look down from your game.....I learned this the hard way and I looked down at my phone for one second, and my horse crashed headfirst into the train, flinging me over it at mach speeds. Sure, it WAS cinematic, but also....Texting and riding, never again.

It makes you take things slower for a bit and gives you a chance to enjoy the interactions of different gang members in the camp, which can reveal more about the characters than youd otherwise find out. And yeah, the chores can be repetitive and tedious, but it suits the pace of the game and i like it as an optional breakaway. Only thing i dont like is not being able to GREET people that say things to me while im heaving a bag of horse feed across camp. One time someone like bill or uncle took a jab at me while i was doing a chore and i wanted to be like "you literally do nothing but sleep or be drunk and fat" but i had to just take it.

I ended up picking it up again about a week ago though and I’m trying it again where I left off. It’s very tedious and I don’t find it remotely as fun as the first game was, but I am sticking with it.

I have 100% the Story, as well as the Game, and never knew you could stay and apologize to a lawman. You can speed up and slow down, as well as change camera view while in Cinematic View. To speed up the process on cigarette cards, go to the general store and buy as many as possible, then get rid of them, buy more, and repeat. It took me about 10 minutes and about $620 to get all the cards. You can feed and brush your horse while riding. You can feed them at any speed, but to brush them, it must be at a slow trot. If you greet and NPC in a town with the law, and that NPC makes a rude remark, antagonize him until he starts to shoot you, the lawman will shoot and kill him for you. To maintain weight, eat 3 meals then sleep. That will bring up your weight by 0.75. if you eat 3 candies or chocolates along with the 3 meals, it will bring up your weight by 0.75, but also continue to bring up your weight again over the next day or so. I find it best to maintain +0.75 to +3.00 for best results. It is very hard to maintain a "Perfect" body weight unless you literally eat a meal every 8 hours, or 3 meals every 24 hours. Certain NPCs that need help along side the ride, example "Guy who was bit by a Snake", or "Guy caught in bear Trap", will get you one free item from the Gunsmith or General Store in the town he was closest to. I think there is one guy per town that you can help, I found 5 of them. Snake bite guy 3 different times.

When you're riding your horse fast and stamina is draining.. press L3 to praise your horse. It will regain some stamina.. if you do this once in a while you basically don't need to use any additional treats.
Fishing Tip: when you’re reeling in a fish after controlling it, move your left thumb stick up and down to drag him towards you. This makes it 10Xs quicker
And you can also change the control from having to spin the right stick so much while reeling to just holding down the A button (Xbox). I hated fishing until I discovered that little trick. Really pays to look hard thru all the settings.
Each completed set that you deliver to the collector will yield you a minimum of $50 reward. 4 of the sets pay a $100 reward. Also you need to collect all sets to get the handcuffs needed for a talisman plus a $200 complete collection reward. Each pack only cost $2.50 at the store. The fence will pay $1 for any duplicates you may get this way.
A really helpful thing is to get a saddle from the trapper as early as possible since it improves all stats for the horse and you can run for at least twice as long, I’d recommend the alligator saddle since it’s one of the best and by far the easiest to get
Man. I’m so upset to learn about this. I wasted a lot of money... I bought one already from the stables, and I even bought a second one by accident. Did the same thing with the stirrups, because I thought I was buying the best one at the end of the list, but the list needed to be scrolled down more to get to the actual end of the list lol. So now I need to get one from the trapper! It would be cool if the one I already bought is better, so I don’t have to bother with it.
The best stats of all Saddles are 12:40 the Beaver, Panther, & Rattlesnake trio. You can easily get the Beaver or Panther Saddles at the beginning of Chapter 2, but the Rattlesnake Saddle will tale some time getting the required 10 perfect snake skins.

hi, ive just started the playing the and im only in the second chapter and im trying to figure out the game. how does the train robbing thing happen? i mean apart from the first mission, is there anyway to bring in your gang and take them to rob a train whenever you want? or do you have to go alone to rob a train or is it only during the missions? thank you
Use express ammo in your pistols/revolvers. It's a huge upgrade to damage during gunfights, even when you don't have access to your long guns, and also really helps when you have no dead eye.

Theres an easier tip for the dying horse - immediately select to set up a camp and the horse will be fine again. Only works if horse is dying not dead.
I discovered number 15 during the 1st game.. I was fed up with those bastards stealing my horse, so i just accidentally whistled and my dear horse buckled the thief off.. And I was like "what a smart woman I am" :D
Yeah lol that’s why I have a routine when Arthur wakes up every morning I eat drink coffee and do all the chores in camp then hunt a deer then go off to start my day.
I had to steal a carriage, but there were a lot of guards. I shot my gun in the air, it scared the horse attached to the carriage and it took off running. I caught up to the horse/carriage, jumped on it and stole it without the guards ever chasing me.
In valentine if you go behind the doctor’s office, the game will give an option to look through the window. You’ll discover money in that office. Then you can go to the doctor’s main office and loot that money.
That's also where you get a very nice pistol, just rob the place while having him at gun point, ask about opening the door in the back room. From there he will knock on the door and let you in. There's a case on the table that has a awesome pistol that's very good early on in the game, I actually used it for quite a while especially when upgraded fully. Your welcome. 😉😊

@@wherewildthingsgrow I know I’m late but yes and also after you get a bounty it’s better to surrender. To surrender you must be off your horse then interact with lawmen and press surrender. Then just don’t move and they’ll arrest you. If you for example had $15.00 bounty they will take like $12.00 from you but if you had like $100.00 then there will be a cutscene where you break out of prison or your gang members save you
You can increase your bond with your horse if you reassure it (talk to it) after it's had a bad experience - like if you ride it through tall bushes or it gets spooked by predators. Basically in any situations where the horse either acts skittish OR makes a little sound of distress (not the heavy breathing from hard riding), if you press the button to talk to it Arthur will say things like 'sorry, girl', or 'you're alright girl'.

If you have bought the fast travel upgrade at your camp, you can fast travel from anywhere by setting up a campfire and pressing A/X. It even allows you to fast travel back to your main camp.

I'm not sure if you can travel to the main camp with fast travel but yeah everything else you said works,only places you have discovered/visited already though
yeah i stood on a rock in the middle of river & then caught a legendary fish & then realised if i get in the water he'd drop it so i set up a camp instead
Another tip! You can actually hunt with your lasso! Particularly hoofed animals like deers, goats, elk, even bison, but do be warned, it depletes your stamina quickly so always use a potent stamina tonic before doing so and try get close enough to the animal when on your horse This can be used to instantly kill high quality animals without damaging the meat/pelt (Do not try it on predators)
Extra tip: going in and out of Dead Eye every time you shoot someone instead of shooting multiple at once will actually drain less Dead Eye ”energy” and your weapons automatically reload each time. Second extra tip: If you ever find youself in a rush through a tight forest, just let go of the controlls and the horse will automatically dodge all the trees. Really wide rocks and trees will still send you flying though.
@@diacoal2433 i get that in RD2 Online but in story mode on PC i get a different dead eye mode - he paints once and fires. I searched online - nobody knows how to switch mode & R* doesn't say how
I suggest checking all fireplaces more than once when you first search them. Some have multiple items. Even destroyed houses with a fire place still standing can have loot in it.
Two huge tips, get the legendary satchel as soon as you can, it has space for 99 of most items and you can get all the pelts since the second episode. Also you can know the quality of a pelt by studying and then pointing at the animals, three stars is perfect pelt, then just use the right weapon.
I wish that you could shoot gang members (Micah especially) and it'd do something similar and just respown you nearby then when he says awful things I can just "oops my gun slipped"

My tip: if you want to commit crime, then learn how the witness system works, as well as disguises... 1. Lawmen always know your ID 2. Dark red witnesses on the mini-map don't know your ID, but are still reporting your crime. 3. Bright red witnesses know your ID, and are reporting you directly.
Take your main horse and two other horses in your stable when going hunting to carry more carcass's to consolidate your trips and save time and make more money. Just have your two spare horses follow your main horse.
ovoj I believe you just go into the stable and retrieve the horses. Whatever horses doesn't have the saddle on it, should just follow you when commanded to do so.
@@ljw2896 instead of riding a horse in the stable leave your main horse, the one with the saddle on it, outside the stable, and walk in, that way your main horse should be outside and the one you ride out with should both be outside.
Tip 32 : you can hold B from any game menu (like the compendium etc) and it will exit all the way out. Tip 34 : you can alter riding speed during cinematic camera travel in the same way as normal.
For the 50 tip it's better if you DON'T turn him in, because he will get caught and escape again. And every time you help him he will give you a BIG TIP for houses to rob. I have save him 4 times so far.
Well shoot, I did the trick without looking into this anymore. At least now I know for the next time. I'm not even sure if the place I found is the same place he recommended, there were pigs and that but I thought he said it was a barn or something, he made it sound like it was bigger. Any chance you remember where the other "big tips" lead?
I'm honestly overwhelmed by the plethora of gameplay mechanics in this game when I first started. I still do now, and often forget another mechanics in place of others.
If you find the prisoner and free him successfully, he might recognize you later and gift you any gun from the shop on his tab. I ran into him in valentine and got a $150 pistol out of it

I was riding near camp in Ch2 and a guy got bit and asked me to suck the poison out, I helped him bc I am working towards high honor. The line Arthur says afterwards cracked me up. I completely forgot about the guy and now I’m about halfway done with the story. I returned to Valentine and the guy called out to me by the gunsmith and bought me a free gun since I saved his life. It was so great! An awesome surprise.

I thought I'd discovered the whole map. Then [SPOILER] the epilogue happened and I discovered I could actually go to Blackwater (I thought it was a case of it just being on the edge of the map and you got instantly killed if you went that far). Then I realised there's like a whole other state you can go to, where no game really happens. New Austin is GORGEOUS ! But you could play the whole game, even the epilogue, and never go there !? And THEN I found out this is the exact map of RDR 1 ? I was going to pick up a copy and borrow my cousin's PS3 to play through that and I wish I hadn't spoiled myself now...

I never saw anyone ever mentioning this, but I think that you can whether your horse is hungry by watching whether its pawing at the ground when you give it some food. After 3-4 treats, the horse will stop pawing. Pawing is how grazing animals dig up snow to reveal vegetation during wintertime, so it might be indicating that the horse is still hungry.
There is so much more to learn about this game. I just finished the story and am playing it again due to how good it is. Hopefully there will be story dlc.
Also when hunting take the time to study the animals before shooting. It'll give you the conditions of their pelts that way you can guarantee perfect pelts and carcasses. This stuff seems obvious but keeps in mind my dumbass didn't realize this until the end of chapter 3. I had the camp fully upgraded except for the crafting upgrades and was struggling to get perfect pelts.
I would just like to point out that it was *not* your fault for hitting that guy with your horse. I suspect he was trying to commit insurance fraud. That would had royally pissed me off...
My Horse was parked outside the market in St. Denis and got hit by the street train, it got up and then it whent on a rampage, i chouldn't calm him and it ended in total chaos... maybe i should upload it. It was that huge black work horse.

@@nova77 there’s a video where a man makes a PC within current gen specs and shows that Xbox series x|s & ps5 can run RDR2 @ 60 fps like butter. No reason for no update. Also, it’s “current” gen.. not next/new gen. It’s almost 4 years old now..
@@nova77 I’m aware. I was just stating that current consoles can run it. I wasn’t talking about Rockstar’s ability (they 100% can) or willingness to release patch. Truth is, patch is long overdue and Rockstar loses brownie-points every day that goes by without the upgrade. It truly deserves it. Hopefully it’ll come shortly before GTA VI in accordance to PR for Rockstar in general. Who knows, maybe some of RDR2’s patch has systems/procedures in place that are coming to GTA VI and they don’t want to release that yet.
Regarding #50...I left the prisoner shackled, hogtied him, tossed him on my horse, and headed for the nearest Sheriff’s office. Along the way, a few people saw me transporting him and accused me of kidnapping. Like bruh.
K B I think it might be time limited or something. I apologized by accident once when I accidentally ran someone over in front of a lawman. Ran over someone later and tried to return to the nearest town to apologize to lawmen and was shot to bits.

@@uni_tby To surrender you must be off your horse with your hands in the air. I camped out in the Heartlands with 4 bounty hunters after me. I laughed as they rode up and down while I watched from inside my tent. They went away and came back three times,. I thought I'd just sit there until they went and never came back. It didn't work, they evelnually spotted me and you can't come out of your tent with your hands raised to surrender. . I got killed.
It’s refreshing to find RDR tips that are actually useful on RUclips. Everyone is repeating the same 15... everything, hoping to cash in. Liked and subbed.
If you use eagle vision often while hunting. You can slow down time to be able to "study" any nearby animals from horseback without them running off on you. Once studied you can also read info while in slow mo for gun preferences. As a side note you can also scan trails of startled prey from a distance to see star ratings. Which means you can scan between trails while on the move to find the pelt that's worth the hunt; or if possible simply hold left trigger to flick between the animals themselves. All this while still chasing on horseback. Additionally your horse's running speed will slow when eagle vision is active, but you can simply tap x/a to jump out of this mode with a fully sprinting horse. Finally, if you die all stored pelts on your horse will disappear.
For that blind man tip actually did that and this one guy near valentine was blind and very wise. Then for that tip about prisoner I met him twice and he said he’ll make it up to me so. I suggest always helping people. Like mr black and mr white.
MadMuss I actually finished that quest line, I first wanted to turn them in for 80 bucks but had a rare chance of heart and i don't think they give you anything, but who knows maybe ill run in too them again some day...
if you upgrade your satchel at a fence you can carry a max off 99 of each item. This works for gold bricks if you do the money glitch, works for tonics, cigarettes, etc.
The satchel you're referring to can only be purchased in the game's epilogue before that it has to be crafted which means crafting all satchels before it which is very hard and time consuming.
CRAZYD3MON96 Where do you purchase the satchel in the epilogue? I remember my first playthrough having 99 cans of beans all the time and I forgot how I did it
And if you're in an area near a mission, when you get in a fist fight with an npc, your friend comes to help you fight but the mission becomes unavailable.
That moment when you're riding calmly through the wilderness and suddenly there's a wagon on fire rolling down the hill, scares your horse and it runs away and you get jumped by some hillbillies and instantly killed with a knife... yeah annesburg sucks lol great tips tho! especially the one where you can jump on your horse! pretty handy :D
Lol, it happened to me while I was on my way to the camp. But I slaughtered them using a shotgun and deadeye. Unfortunately I shouldn't have sticked around to loot these mongrels and some people reported me to the lawmen for murder and looting. More then twenty lawmen chased after me to Valentine. If it wasn't for my slow yet sturdy war horse, Silver Sable, I would die. I can't wait for the online version of this game.

@Donato Tusi If you have a lot of gang members, the griefers won't even be able to kill you. You also have the option of staying away from them and lying low. The worst case scenario that I believe you can encounter in online is if the griefer follows you back to your camp.
Bro my white arabian 4 gum was kiled on a cliff, so i left the app, she was still dead, check my save and it was at 25% for my last save, I was at 45% at that point, so uh- Rip 4 gum because I didnt know this trick
I really love the attention to detail they put into this game, I barely started this game a few days ago and already found about half of those tips out on my own by just thinking of "what would I do if I was a cowboy back then?".

I'm 20 hours into this fantastic game, and I'm thinking it would be smart to pick up a few tips to go along, since there's apparently a lot of stuff you can do that the game doesn't tell you. BUT, now I'm terrified that RUclips will start suggesting other RDR2 vids' for me with major spoilers in the title or the thumbnail!
Top tip for bounties and scouting camps. Holding the r1 to open the radial menu your minimap zooms out even in expanded. You can see red dots moving from much farther away and plan better.
-Hold X/Square while cleaning guns or cooking over a campfire. I was mashing it and just realized they move faster while just holding down and not mashing repeatedly -During cinematic camera use:you can tap RB/R1 buttons to slow your horse down and also tap A/X several times to get it to full speed
Yea, just did it a few minutes ago, 10 dollar bounty in valentine, still gotta figure out how to pay the 350 dollar bounty in saint dennis, accidentally killed 10 people in a barfight
The "multiple outfits" part- yeah you can switch between outfits from your horse which is convenient, just don't take off/put on a hat because that will count as a separate custom outfit and will remove another one from your horse. (But of course it never replaces the outfit that is exactly the same minus/plus the hat, it's always one of the completely different outfits so you have 2 of the same thing with and without a hat) Oh and if you're wearing a hat and it falls off and you want it back on, (other than picking it up off the ground) put the custom outfit on again, don't select the same exact hat from your horse because then you'll be there like "where did that other outfit go and why do I have two of the same on my horse listed as two different outfits?" It's immersive
The tip about assigning your loadout in the gunsmith is an absolute lifesaver... The fact that I kept getting off my horse and having no weapons (aside for my pistols), was BY FAR, THE WORST PART OF THIS GAME for me... I can't even tell you how much this helps... THANK YOU!!! (liked and subscribed)
I've discovered that if you begin putting your weapons away using the weapon wheel and selecting fist (while on the horse) , this seems to help the assignments work better.
Strixx since I posted my comment, I've seen that solutions can be random. Another thing that has worked sometimes is if you get off the horse with one rifle instead of two, try grabbing the other riffle you want off the horse, then walk away and manually put it away (weapons wheel and selecting fist). After doing this a few times, it seems to catch on. Still though, this needs fixing. It may have been fixed but I can't get updates currently.
Keep trying. You just need to pet them and calm them down a bit before you reach right in. Think of it like a prom date....speaking oh which- that's the name of my horse- PromDate.
Some of these might have been commented but whatever. Might be spoilers ahead. When you want to loot a specific item you can hold aim and flick the right stick to swap between the items ready for looting, works with npc’s you want to talk to as well. You don’t have to start the reload and then enter dead eye, just keep track on how much ammo is left, when you’re low just activate it and you have full ammo again. I don’t know if I misunderstood you and I just said the same thing again. I would recommend to either jot down the pelts required for upgrading the satchel and camp and just donate everything to Pearson, when you’re done there sell everything to the Trapper. When you hunt a legendary creature, I think most people skin the animal, in case it goes bad (I don’t think it does since you can blast several shots at the animal without ruining the pelt, I think I went with 3-4 shots on the Ram and it didn’t ruin it), but bring along the carcass if it can be stowed on your horse and sell to the Trapper for extra money. You can find Iguanas on an Island in Flat Iron Lake due west of the Camp in chapter 3. You can find the Tricorn hat in a shipwreck on this island. I have not tried this yet myself, as I really haven’t had any problems with my Arabian horses, except the one you can buy in Blackwater. That one was a.. night-mare heheh... also John Marstons horse Rachel was a real bitch, sent her to the glue factory. But supposedly Mustangs are one of the best all around horses, good in fights and hunting, not easily scared and can sprint, not as fast as an Arabian mind you, but decent enough. But this might come down to preference as well. Probably forgotten a few, but hopefully these will be of some service.
8:52 be careful with this. They will not avoid npcs. I did this and Arthur basically blew through an entire herd of sheep. Before I could get control back the guy who owns the flock shot me dead.
I wonder if letting the gunsmith clean your guns lengthens the deterioration time. I know for a fact letting the barber Palmade your hair the palmade staysin way longer. It feels like the guns condition falls slower when the gunsmith cleans it, but I don’t know for sure, it could be the same.
Gunsmiths wil clean your weapons, if they need it, for about 25 cents each. Gun oil is $1-50 a go,. and you don't get that much early in the game, and you can only carry 10 before you get the big satchel that lets you have 99 of everything, except watches. Sell them when you have 5 of one type of gold or silver, or you can't pick up any more.

You can increase the bond with your horse by leading it by the reins for a bit.
Petting a horse immadiently after a fullstop or in situations where it made a good job ( jumping over a fence, staying calm in dangerous situations etc) increases the bond also.
Some doors are locked but sometimes you can enter a cabin by breaking the windows.
Traveling with a second horse allows you to carry more hunted animals around.
The first thing you wanna do after getting the leather tools is to let pearson craft the satchels for you.
The camp in valentine lets you eat out of the pot similar to that of your camp. Nobody stops you from doing it.
Burning(dynamite, molotow etc) people impedes looting them.
You can shoot fish with guns or the bow.
If you can't craft anything but seemingly have the recipe you may consider reading it to learn it. (I forgot it once and i really almost lost my sanity because of this)
If you're stuck somewhere high where you'd fall and die, just set up a camp.
There’s a camp in Valentine? Also, I tried shooting a fish with a gun but didn’t have any luck. Do I have to have unlocked fishing first? Because I haven’t done that yet. I was able to shoot/kill a water snake though, so maybe I just had bad aim with the fish and gave up too fast because I didn’t see any signs that it was doable.

Yeah, I was able to successfully shoot a fish later when I tried again - I just had bad aim before. Anyways, you should have learned to fish in Chapter 2 before you moved camps (you take little Jack out fishing, and the two Pinkerton men talk to you).

@@petrac2840 You have to zoom in a certain amount before you can see the symbol but on the map you can see a symbol with a hook called "bait shop" where you can get a fishing rod from. There is one at Lagras which is the lake north-west above saint denis, hope this helped!

Cinematic mode doesn't mean you can just walk away or look down from your game.....I learned this the hard way and I looked down at my phone for one second, and my horse crashed headfirst into the train, flinging me over it at mach speeds. It makes you take things slower for a bit and gives you a chance to enjoy the interactions of different gang members in the camp, which can reveal more about the characters than youd otherwise find out. And yeah, the chores can be repetitive and tedious, but it suits the pace of the game and i like it as an optional breakaway.
Only thing i dont like is not being able to GREET people that say things to me while im heaving a bag of horse feed across camp. One time someone like bill or uncle took a jab at me while i was doing a chore and i wanted to be like "you literally do nothing but sleep or be drunk and fat" but i had to just take it.

@@GrizzTheShaman ahhh i had to stop reading halfway no spoilers!!!! I'm taking my sweet time with this game I'm only 50% done so far. All I'm doing is collecting the skins for the trapper, dreamcatchers, the fish, and doing little missions here and there.
I have 100% the Story, as well as the Game, and never knew you could stay and apologize to a lawman.
You can speed up and slow down, as well as change camera view while in Cinematic View.
To speed up the process on cigarette cards, go to the general store and buy as many as possible, then get rid of them, buy more, and repeat. It took me about 10 minutes and about $620 to get all the cards.
You can feed and brush your horse while riding. You can feed them at any speed, but to brush them, it must be at a slow trot.
If you greet and NPC in a town with the law, and that NPC makes a rude remark, antagonize him until he starts to shoot you, the lawman will shoot and kill him for you.
To maintain weight, eat 3 meals then sleep. That will bring up your weight by 0.75. if you eat 3 candies or chocolates along with the 3 meals, it will bring up your weight by 0.75, but also continue to bring up your weight again over the next day or so. I find it best to maintain +0.75 to +3.00 for best results. It is very hard to maintain a "Perfect" body weight unless you literally eat a meal every 8 hours, or 3 meals every 24 hours.
Certain NPCs that need help along side the ride, example "Guy who was bit by a Snake", or "Guy caught in bear Trap", will get you one free item from the Gunsmith or General Store in the town he was closest to. I think there is one guy per town that you can help, I found 5 of them. Snake bite guy 3 different times.

Should be a little more than a grunt...Maybe that AGHHH audio he makes when he hops over a fence then smacks his jaw against a tree just afterwards.
When you're riding your horse fast and stamina is draining.. press L3 to praise your horse. It will regain some stamina.. if you do this once in a while you basically don't need to use any additional treats.
Most useful one
Fishing Tip: when you’re reeling in a fish after controlling it, move your left thumb stick up and down to drag him towards you. This makes it 10Xs quicker
And you can also change the control from having to spin the right stick so much while reeling to just holding down the A button (Xbox). I hated fishing until I discovered that little trick. Really pays to look hard thru all the settings.

Premium cigarettes can be purchased in the general store and they each have a cigarette card in them.
But then you wont really make a profit
But what can you do with the cigarette cards though ?
Each completed set that you deliver to the collector will yield you a minimum of $50 reward. 4 of the sets pay a $100 reward.
Also you need to collect all sets to get the handcuffs needed for a talisman plus a $200 complete collection reward.
Each pack only cost $2.50 at the store.
The fence will pay $1 for any duplicates you may get this way.

A really helpful thing is to get a saddle from the trapper as early as possible since it improves all stats for the horse and you can run for at least twice as long, I’d recommend the alligator saddle since it’s one of the best and by far the easiest to get
Man. I’m so upset to learn about this. I wasted a lot of money... I bought one already from the stables, and I even bought a second one by accident. Did the same thing with the stirrups, because I thought I was buying the best one at the end of the list, but the list needed to be scrolled down more to get to the actual end of the list lol.

The best stats of all Saddles are 12:40 the Beaver, Panther, & Rattlesnake trio. You can easily get the Beaver or Panther Saddles at the beginning of Chapter 2, but the Rattlesnake Saddle will tale some time getting the required 10 perfect snake skins.

Use express ammo in your pistols/revolvers. It's a huge upgrade to damage during gunfights, even when you don't have access to your long guns, and also really helps when you have no dead eye.

Theres an easier tip for the dying horse - immediately select to set up a camp and the horse will be fine again. Only works if horse is dying not dead.

I had to steal a carriage, but there were a lot of guards. I shot my gun in the air, it scared the horse attached to the carriage and it took off running. I caught up to the horse/carriage, jumped on it and stole it without the guards ever chasing me.

In valentine if you go behind the doctor’s office, the game will give an option to look through the window. You’ll discover money in that office. Then you can go to the doctor’s main office and loot that money.
That's also where you get a very nice pistol, just rob the place while having him at gun point, ask about opening the door in the back room. From there he will knock on the door and let you in. There's a case on the table that has a awesome pistol that's very good early on in the game, I actually used it for quite a while especially when upgraded fully. Your welcome. 😉😊

I had no idea about the customize one. So many times I’ve gotten off my horse thinking I had weapons. That’s a game changer right there.
If you antagonize an NPC in town that has a gun then slowly pull in the right trigger, they'll reach for their gun and you can duel them.

@@wherewildthingsgrow I know I’m late but yes and also after you get a bounty it’s better to surrender. To surrender you must be off your horse then interact with lawmen and press surrender. Then just don’t move and they’ll arrest you. If you for example had $15.00 bounty they will take like $12.00 from you but if you had like $100.00 then there will be a cutscene where you break out of prison or your gang members save you
You can increase your bond with your horse if you reassure it (talk to it) after it's had a bad experience - like if you ride it through tall bushes or it gets spooked by predators. Basically in any situations where the horse either acts skittish OR makes a little sound of distress (not the heavy breathing from hard riding), if you press the button to talk to it Arthur will say things like 'sorry, girl', or 'you're alright girl'.

If you have bought the fast travel upgrade at your camp, you can fast travel from anywhere by setting up a campfire and pressing A/X. It even allows you to fast travel back to your main camp.

yeah i stood on a rock in the middle of river & then caught a legendary fish & then realised if i get in the water he'd drop it so i set up a camp instead

You can actually hunt with your lasso!
Particularly hoofed animals like deers, goats, elk, even bison, but do be warned, it depletes your stamina quickly so always use a potent stamina tonic before doing so and try get close enough to the animal when on your horse
This can be used to instantly kill high quality animals without damaging the meat/pelt
(Do not try it on predators)
Extra tip: going in and out of Dead Eye every time you shoot someone instead of shooting multiple at once will actually drain less Dead Eye ”energy” and your weapons automatically reload each time.
Second extra tip: If you ever find youself in a rush through a tight forest, just let go of the controlls and the horse will automatically dodge all the trees. Really wide rocks and trees will still send you flying though.

I suggest checking all fireplaces more than once when you first search them. Some have multiple items. Even destroyed houses with a fire place still standing can have loot in it.
Two huge tips, get the legendary satchel as soon as you can, it has space for 99 of most items and you can get all the pelts since the second episode. Also you can know the quality of a pelt by studying and then pointing at the animals, three stars is perfect pelt, then just use the right weapon.

1. Lawmen always know your ID
2. Dark red witnesses on the mini-map don't know your ID, but are still reporting your crime.
3. Bright red witnesses know your ID, and are reporting you directly.

Take your main horse and two other horses in your stable when going hunting to carry more carcass's to consolidate your trips and save time and make more money. Just have your two spare horses follow your main horse.

How do you get more than one horse from the stables. I've found once I saddle one, it automatically warps the other in
ovoj I believe you just go into the stable and retrieve the horses. Whatever horses doesn't have the saddle on it, should just follow you when commanded to do so.

Tip 32 : you can hold B from any game menu (like the compendium etc) and it will exit all the way out.
Tip 34 : you can alter riding speed during cinematic camera travel in the same way as normal.
For the 50 tip it's better if you DON'T turn him in, because he will get caught and escape again. And every time you help him he will give you a BIG TIP for houses to rob. I have save him 4 times so far.

I'm honestly overwhelmed by the plethora of gameplay mechanics in this game when I first started. I still do now, and often forget another mechanics in place of others.
If you find the prisoner and free him successfully, he might recognize you later and gift you any gun from the shop on his tab. I ran into him in valentine and got a $150 pistol out of it

I was riding near camp in Ch2 and a guy got bit and asked me to suck the poison out, I helped him bc I am working towards high honor. The line Arthur says afterwards cracked me up. I completely forgot about the guy and now I’m about halfway done with the story. I returned to Valentine and the guy called out to me by the gunsmith and bought me a free gun since I saved his life. It was so great! An awesome surprise.
Much like the way you can jump on your horse, you can perform Ariel executions with a knife on enemies, btw.

the epilogue happened and I discovered I could actually go to Blackwater (I thought it was a case of it just being on the edge of the map and you got instantly killed if you went that far).
Then I realised there's like a whole other state you can go to, where no game really happens. New Austin is GORGEOUS ! But you could play the whole game, even the epilogue, and never go there !?
And THEN I found out this is the exact map of RDR 1 ? I was going to pick up a copy and borrow my cousin's PS3 to play through that and I wish I hadn't spoiled myself now...

I never saw anyone ever mentioning this, but I think that you can whether your horse is hungry by watching whether its pawing at the ground when you give it some food. After 3-4 treats, the horse will stop pawing. Pawing is how grazing animals dig up snow to reveal vegetation during wintertime, so it might be indicating that the horse is still hungry.
There is so much more to learn about this game. I just finished the story and am playing it again due to how good it is. Hopefully there will be story dlc.

Also when hunting take the time to study the animals before shooting. It'll give you the conditions of their pelts that way you can guarantee perfect pelts and carcasses. This stuff seems obvious but keeps in mind my dumbass didn't realize this until the end of chapter 3. I had the camp fully upgraded except for the crafting upgrades and was struggling to get perfect pelts.
I would just like to point out that it was *not* your fault for hitting that guy with your horse. I suspect he was trying to commit insurance fraud. That would had royally pissed me off...
My Horse was parked outside the market in St. Denis and got hit by the street train, it got up and then it whent on a rampage, i chouldn't calm him and it ended in total chaos... maybe i should upload it. It was that huge black work horse.

Truth is, patch is long overdue and Rockstar loses brownie-points every day that goes by without the upgrade. It truly deserves it. Hopefully it’ll come shortly before GTA VI in accordance to PR for Rockstar in general. Who knows, maybe some of RDR2’s patch has systems/procedures in place that are coming to GTA VI and they don’t want to release that yet.

@@uni_tby To surrender you must be off your horse with your hands in the air. I camped out in the Heartlands with 4 bounty hunters after me. I laughed as they rode up and down while I watched from inside my tent. They went away and came back three times,. I thought I'd just sit there until they went and never came back. It didn't work, they evelnually spotted me and you can't come out of your tent with your hands raised to surrender. . I got killed.
PRO TIP: you can shoot latern carrued by your enemy to set him on fire ( and his fellow mates)
Learned that the hard way when I accidentally set myself on fire in a gunfight once lol
It’s refreshing to find RDR tips that are actually useful on RUclips. Everyone is repeating the same 15... everything, hoping to cash in. Liked and subbed.
Not only that it's like did you not even listen to the game when it was telling you another 15 "tips"
If you use eagle vision often while hunting. You can slow down time to be able to "study" any nearby animals from horseback without them running off on you. Once studied you can also read info while in slow mo for gun preferences. As a side note you can also scan trails of startled prey from a distance to see star ratings. Which means you can scan between trails while on the move to find the pelt that's worth the hunt; or if possible simply hold left trigger to flick between the animals themselves. All this while still chasing on horseback.
Additionally your horse's running speed will slow when eagle vision is active, but you can simply tap x/a to jump out of this mode with a fully sprinting horse. Finally, if you die all stored pelts on your horse will disappear.

if you upgrade your satchel at a fence you can carry a max off 99 of each item. This works for gold bricks if you do the money glitch, works for tonics, cigarettes, etc.

The satchel you're referring to can only be purchased in the game's epilogue before that it has to be crafted which means crafting all satchels before it which is very hard and time consuming.
CRAZYD3MON96 Where do you purchase the satchel in the epilogue? I remember my first playthrough having 99 cans of beans all the time and I forgot how I did it
And if you're in an area near a mission, when you get in a fist fight with an npc, your friend comes to help you fight but the mission becomes unavailable.

Lol, it happened to me while I was on my way to the camp. But I slaughtered them using a shotgun and deadeye. Unfortunately I shouldn't have sticked around to loot these mongrels and some people reported me to the lawmen for murder and looting. More then twenty lawmen chased after me to Valentine. If it wasn't for my slow yet sturdy war horse, Silver Sable, I would die. I can't wait for the online version of this game.

@Donato Tusi If you have a lot of gang members, the griefers won't even be able to kill you. You also have the option of staying away from them and lying low. The worst case scenario that I believe you can encounter in online is if the griefer follows you back to your camp.
If your horse needs to get revived, setting up a campfire instantly revives it, instead of needing to close the application
or you can use horse reviver

I really love the attention to detail they put into this game, I barely started this game a few days ago and already found about half of those tips out on my own by just thinking of "what would I do if I was a cowboy back then?".
Something else to note is that when you are aiming a gun in first person, you can press down on the dpad to look down the sights

Top tip for bounties and scouting camps. Holding the r1 to open the radial menu your minimap zooms out even in expanded. You can see red dots moving from much farther away and plan better.
-Hold X/Square while cleaning guns or cooking over a campfire. I was mashing it and just realized they move faster while just holding down and not mashing repeatedly
-During cinematic camera use:you can tap RB/R1 buttons to slow your horse down and also tap A/X several times to get it to full speed

Get the trapper saddles. They look nice and give you better stats i think
The "multiple outfits" part- yeah you can switch between outfits from your horse which is convenient, just don't take off/put on a hat because that will count as a separate custom outfit and will remove another one from your horse. (But of course it never replaces the outfit that is exactly the same minus/plus the hat, it's always one of the completely different outfits so you have 2 of the same thing with and without a hat) Oh and if you're wearing a hat and it falls off and you want it back on, (other than picking it up off the ground) put the custom outfit on again, don't select the same exact hat from your horse because then you'll be there like "where did that other outfit go and why do I have two of the same on my horse listed as two different outfits?"

The tip about assigning your loadout in the gunsmith is an absolute lifesaver... The fact that I kept getting off my horse and having no weapons (aside for my pistols), was BY FAR, THE WORST PART OF THIS GAME for me... I can't even tell you how much this helps... THANK YOU!!! (liked and subscribed)

I've discovered that if you begin putting your weapons away using the weapon wheel and selecting fist (while on the horse) , this seems to help the assignments work better.
I think it works once after you do it, after that it resets everything except your two pistols. My two Pistols are the only thinks that don't change.
Strixx since I posted my comment, I've seen that solutions can be random. Another thing that has worked sometimes is if you get off the horse with one rifle instead of two, try grabbing the other riffle you want off the horse, then walk away and manually put it away (weapons wheel and selecting fist). After doing this a few times, it seems to catch on. Still though, this needs fixing. It may have been fixed but I can't get updates currently.

Some of these might have been commented but whatever. Might be spoilers ahead.
When you want to loot a specific item you can hold aim and flick the right stick to swap between the items ready for looting, works with npc’s you want to talk to as well.
You don’t have to start the reload and then enter dead eye, just keep track on how much ammo is left, when you’re low just activate it and you have full ammo again. I don’t know if I misunderstood you and I just said the same thing again.
I would recommend to either jot down the pelts required for upgrading the satchel and camp and just donate everything to Pearson, when you’re done there sell everything to the Trapper.
When you hunt a legendary creature, I think most people skin the animal, in case it goes bad (I don’t think it does since you can blast several shots at the animal without ruining the pelt, I think I went with 3-4 shots on the Ram and it didn’t ruin it), but bring along the carcass if it can be stowed on your horse and sell to the Trapper for extra money.
You can find Iguanas on an Island in Flat Iron Lake due west of the Camp in chapter 3. You can find the Tricorn hat in a shipwreck on this island.
I have not tried this yet myself, as I really haven’t had any problems with my Arabian horses, except the one you can buy in Blackwater. That one was a.. night-mare heheh... also John Marstons horse Rachel was a real bitch, sent her to the glue factory. But supposedly Mustangs are one of the best all around horses, good in fights and hunting, not easily scared and can sprint, not as fast as an Arabian mind you, but decent enough. But this might come down to preference as well.

8:52 be careful with this. They will not avoid npcs. I did this and Arthur basically blew through an entire herd of sheep. Before I could get control back the guy who owns the flock shot me dead.

I know for a fact letting the barber Palmade your hair the palmade staysin way longer.
It feels like the guns condition falls slower when the gunsmith cleans it, but I don’t know for sure, it could be the same.
Gunsmiths wil clean your weapons, if they need it, for about 25 cents each. Gun oil is $1-50 a go,. and you don't get that much early in the game, and you can only carry 10 before you get the big satchel that lets you have 99 of everything, except watches. Sell them when you have 5 of one type of gold or silver, or you can't pick up any more.
The details are unbelievable in this amazing game
