    UPDATE: Following the channel hack this video weirdly got hit with a copyright strike after months of being up with no problem whatsoever. I had to cut a minute out of this video to not get the channel weirdly hit for something that was fine MONTHS ago. The minute is in the beginning but if there are anymore oddities in this video that is the reason. I apologize for this and am equally as upset about this video, one that was dedicated to the original RED, being affected.

    I got to meet Robert Bogue (Red Harlow's voice actor) a few weeks ago at the Black Hills Redemption event. Such an amazing and personable guy, ended up chatting with him way longer than I should've. The way his face lit up when I pulled out a copy of RDRevolver for him to sign while the rest of the room went nuts for John Marston and Arthur Morgan... man, Red Harlow (and now his actor) will always be a personal favorite for me.

    • @jackbluehq6653
      @jackbluehq6653 6 месяцев назад +100

      Technically no
      The stereotypical cowboy is a clean shaven white wearing morally good cowboy who's very talkative.
      Characters like Clint Eastwoods The Man With No Name subverted this stereotype with an anti hero like gunslinger. A man of few words who's prone to violence very easily, obtains a morally grey compass, is not clean at all and wears brown instead of white. This became its own stereotype, arguably more popular now and its the stereotype Red Harlow obtains greatly

      I think RD: Revolver remake would make more sense but with the blueprint of what made RDR2 excellent. Imagine a remake with the graphics of RDR2 or better, instead of the camp mechanic you are a solo gunslinger with a companion dog who can be feed and treated just like the horse mechanic. Widen up the map, had some more spice to the story and you could name it RDR3 or keep it RD: Revolver, it would be a banger of a game. They could explore the native part of history even more since Red’s mother was a native herself, we could meet some of the ancestors of RDR2 characters as Easter eggs and maybe even meet a young Hosea… since they already gone back in time with the sequel they could really dig even more into the past with RDRevolver and it would totally make sense.

But he then stumbles upon an old man in a remote area running from the law who understands what Jack is going through and takes Jack under his wing and sets sets him on the right path for him to become the next legend. At the end of the game it would be revealed that it was Red and that he didn’t reveal himself or tell anyone who he was or if he really even existed because it was never about the fame and fortune.

    RDR1 will forever hold its place in my mind as I played it first: it has a western atmosphere that the color palette, music.. honestly idk what it is that just makes it more Wild West classic feeling in my opinion. It may be the memories or how the story is set up, or just the fact you’re stuck in New Austin in RDR1, giving the dry desert atmosphere. I still haven’t figured out what it was about it that made it feel like more of Wild West cinematic, especially when RDR2 is far more cinematic.

    I so much want Revolver to be part of the overall lore/canon. I love this game to death and has such a great story. I would want a remake of this game with updated graphics and improved mechanics. And strongly believe that Uncle is NOT Red, not a chance. I'd like to see Red as a legend who just disappeared after his main goal was completed.

      ragnar lothbrok was 100% a real person but yeah the mythical part of his story that was shown in the tv show is definitely overblown by a lot. being the father of the people that led the great heathen army definitely made people mythologize him past the fact that he converted to christianity and add in the ragnorok ties after the normans took over france and england. maybe even to justify doing it.

    I think its kinda cool how video games nowadays kinda play into the trope that the eldest generations were legends and their stories were so great but also dubious and out of the public eye that modern protagonists would likely only think if them as a myth. Like, hearing your grandpas stories about the war, then your dads stories about how cool he was in his youth, then hearing a sobering and dramatic tale from your dying uncle that reveals the ugly truths of all the tales of old while also showing that the truly amazing moments were all the bits grandpa didnt tell you.

    The main reason why rockstar likes to keep revolver sperate from the redemption series (same goes for the 3D GTAs and HD GTAs) is because it came before they were worried about continuity and it allows them to not worry about maintaining continuity with their new releases, especially when it comes to map layouts.
    Cuz imagine having to play a game like GTA VI on the OG vice city map

    It starts with Uncle telling the story around the campfire, either during the van dir lind days days or at John's Ranch whichever y'all feel is more appropriate, it being a retelling as an Old West legend could explain away some of the more Fantastical and wacky elements.

    • @forickgrimaldus8301
      @forickgrimaldus8301 5 месяцев назад +4

      Its a reference however it also fits the Old West Setting to have Red as a semi mythical figure of Folklore among the denisens of the Red Dead Redemption world,
      Also compared to GTA, the references to Red Dead Revolver are far more blatant as the NPCs are basically constantly talking about it, the closest GTA HD ever had of referencing the 3D universe was the C.J's gang being present in GTAV but thats it no real reference to the events of San Andreas.
