Love the way the tires turned out I am no expert but I think when you cut the tape after you laid down the primary color had you left the plastic and only pulled the tape from the inside you could have saved yourself at least 4 decks of cards and a lot of time. Love the shots and explanation great video
Thanks for the suggestion. I’ve tried taping it multiple ways and this go around with the cards it saved me at least an hour of taping. I’m all for trying new techniques though!
Based on your experience, is it better to bore and mount directly to the drum or use a spacer to get the wheel closer to the fender for a fuller look? Thanks for the help .
I would recommend 1 White, 3 Color, and 3 Clear. It all matters how heavy you coat them. I feel as though I used the bare minimum on this truck. If I would have had one more can of clear I could have put a final heavy coat on.
I usually use the the bright white in duplicolor perfect match. Any white will do. I’ve used the GM white and Toyota before. It all looks about the same.
Pretty slick idea doing the outside edge white to almost look like a thin white wall tire. I would have never thought of that
@@mitchellyouney9945 I saw it from my friend Nick Hester on Instagram. Love the idea.
Wow! Those turned out awesome!
Thank you. They are my best set to date and have held up really well. The 2k clear is great spray paint.

@@frente2zapatista that’s personal preference. I like to bore and mount directly so I don’t have to cut into the inner bedsides.
Thank you Travis
@frente2zapatista anytime!
I bought the clip set, my hubcaps are 9 1/4” inside. Do you have a template for them?
This set is for 10.25 dogdish hubcaps but you can measure down .5 from each of the 5 marks.
Thank you for your detailed videos, it’s really helping me on my build. Question, the measurements for the tires your running on this build?
255/30/22
Looks great! Where do you get the hub caps?
Detroit steel had these
What tire size are you running? Looks great
255/30/22
Would you recommend a spacer for the rear? just got a set in for my 1963 c10 fits my front disk looking for the rear
If it’s a stepside get a 1 inch spacer. If it’s fleet, use my bore kit.
How many spray cans did you use to paint the white wall and the center in total?
Awesome video! Greetings from the netherlands 🇳🇱

Do we have to spread the clips widely to hold the caps on , no rattle etc
No adjustment is needed. The template has them with a tight fit.
since you threw out the names of some aftermarket wheel manufacturers, what is the benefit to going with GM transport wheels? Are they cheaper?
Prices vary but yes they are cheaper in most areas.
What do you do for the backside?
Leave it alone.
I would as well , but they are new and the backside already showing surface rust in the cracks. Maybe just a wipe down and a clear coat?
whats the cream color you are usuing
I color matched my interior.
What color white do you use?

Hell ya
Thanks
What size are the tires?
255/30/22
What size are the hubcaps?
10.25 dog dish
whats the brand of tire?
Lexani
Why tap them? Just use ss screws with nuts and lock washers.
I like to be able to replace them without taking my wheel off to get to the backside. Either way would work though.
Got it, beautiful wheels, don't see them in my area.
What's their weight?
About 55lb each
