Slick idea, would probably sell a bunch if you made a triangle version for 5x5 guys I had to mill my 5x5 2.8” register method race wheels to fit my 3.1” square body registers on a lathe
Not that you need to, but I would use a 1/4 inch rod in place of the drill bit, and add a stop on the rod, so drilling depth is limited, but brilliant idea, great job.
This is awesome! How low can I go and use these transport wheels without cutting inner fenders or using spacers in the back? I'd like to do a modest lowering job and not have to do any mods to the body of the truck. Is this possible? '63 short stepside
A stepside is going to need a 1 inch spacer on the back. I’ve had a few of them. You can do a 4/6 drop on these trucks without any issues with bored front (unless you have disc brakes) and spacers in the back. Link to spacers are in the description as well.
Just the back of you have disc brakes in the front. If you have drum all around you need to bore them all. You can ready the description on my website for the all details. www.simplec10.co
I’m confused, I thought the transport wheels weren’t road worthy from the factory. Something about welds and core charge and dealers had to dent the edges of the rim for disposal? Are they safe to run?
That's been debunked by MANY people. I have transport wheels on my Silverado with 15,000 miles and zero issues. Fully welded, HAS a DOT stamp on the wheel, balanced fantastic! There's only down side is they are heavy.
Hey Man, Love your channel.Got a question for you.I have a 1962 Chevy 2 with factory 4 lug thirteen inch wheels.I want to upgrade to 15 x7 inch 4 lug wheels.Where would you recommend for a budget friendly Steelie dealer? Thanks in advance
@@SIMPLE.C10 Thanks man,I will have to contact them and see if they do.Your trucks sure do remind me of the two that got away.I had a 64 big back glass fleet side and a 66 fleet side. Both short bed.
Hey Cory! We had a few that this happened with on our first design. We have made a few changes to strengthen the middle guide. Ive got your info on Shopify and will send you a new guide asap! Sorry for the inconvenience.

Good idea. May do that in the future.

Thanks buddy! Nice suggestion.
Nice wheels 👍🤙🔥👌🤤
Thanks
Nice!
What wheel spacer would you recommend going with? I’d be going 5x5 to the 6x5.5
I don’t think they make a 1 inch spacer for that. I would suggest you getting another brand steelie like Detroit steel to have 5x5
Can you do that to any silverado wheel? for example in order to fit it on to a colorado?
You can use this in any 6x5.5 wheel. You could order the bracket only and get whatever hole saw size you need.

Did you have to bore all four wheels? Or just the back two?

They are DOT approved stamped on them and thousands of trucks run them daily.

@berserkir thank you
Do you think this would work to open bore for nissan d21?
If your Nissan a 6x5.5, do you have steel wheels, and is the middle hub 5 3/8?

Thanks for watching! I’m not sure about four lug. I usually recommend Detroit steel but I don’t think they make 4.

What lug nuts are you using?
7/16-20 acorn head
@@SIMPLE.C10 ok, so nothing special! Cheap..I like 👍
Will this tool/method work for alloy wheels? I know they're typically thicker than steel at the center.
As long as you believe you can still and tap it.
If I ordered today when could I expect it to ship out to Texas
I ship next business day. I have one left in stock.
What about different size for other vehicle's?
If the wheels are 6x5.5 the guide will work for any size if you change out the hole saw.
Ok thanks for your reply, I guess I'm gonna have to go to the machine shop. I have 8 lug duallys going from chevy to dodge aluminum.
Can I used this on a Chevy wheels?
Any 6x5.5
Is it common the center part rips out of the guide? I got through one wheel and mine broke.
