    I did a helmet once where I painted it gloss black and did a very fine mist over the black with hardly any coverage and it looked like black chrome. The helmet owner loved it and brought other parts to do and it worked out well.
    I've never clear coated any of those parts either. It looked good for a while until it gets rubbed on or waxed. Just refrain from touching it during the procedure.

    • @ThePaintPaperHustle
      @ThePaintPaperHustle  8 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks that’s what I wish I did was no did so many coats

    • @firebald2915
      @firebald2915 8 месяцев назад +2

      When I experimented later, I shot the gloss black and while it was still wet, I shot/ misted the silver over the black and that caused the silver to adhere to the black.
      When I did airbrush fade work on lettering, I sprayed wet on wet. That eliminated the use of a clearcoat. It didn't wax off either. Overspray where it was not on the surface of lettering, I used aerosol window cleaner to remove that, but the paint stayed on the wet lettering. Old sign painter trick.

    Great Vid ! I get the inset issue on the wheels, hard to spray. Would you recommend Motochrome for fiberglass bumper application❓
    Question re: Spraygun maint.: Any tips on greasing aging spray guns? I struggle between getting trigger/felt lubricated, but not wanting fisheyes😳!
    Lastly what (online?) paint company would you recommend for a value-priced 1K, Eastwood? Your Medium truck cab 1K vid is one of your most highly popular!

    • @ThePaintPaperHustle
      @ThePaintPaperHustle  5 месяцев назад +1

      Ok so for Eastwood I honestly have no idea. The customer supplied that paint on that job. I’ve never bought East wood paint.
      For you paint gun they make lube for paint guns. My local store sells it but I’m sure you can search online for “paint gun lube” and find something. It’s made so it doesn’t cause fish eyes or mess anything up.
      As far as using this on a fiberglass bumper id guess it’s work great if it’s smooth as glass and you follow all the manufacturer steps.
      Thanks for watching it means alot

    On a side draft booth wouldn't you want to face the wheels downstream from the intake filters, so your paint surface would be shielded by the backside of the wheel.Dirty air movement would be toward you and you could dust the product on without the trash getting in
    it. Just a thought.

    • @ThePaintPaperHustle
      @ThePaintPaperHustle  7 месяцев назад

      Yes however you don’t paint wheels on their side so with the wheels it really doesn’t matter where they are laying inside booth

I believe that product would work great but probably have to do a high end paint job on the rims with a lot of wet sanding maybe all the way to 3000 on the primer and paint with a cut and buff after color sanding. You need to use a particular clear with low solids & no solvents to keep the chrome look. If there is any solvent in the clear it will kill the reflective properties of the paint. I was a dealer & trainer for Alsa paints Mirra Chrome for 7yrs. This looks like they use the same process as Alsa Mirra Chrome. The chrome look on the wheels failed due to the clear used. Also whatever you are painting must be completely dry & de-gassed otherwise you risk more problems & if you put too much chrome on it will delaminate from itself. Very light dust coats is required.

    I would try to clear smoke style , tint smoke . May be metallic with darker center outer tint collor match body color . All all the paint clear tint 5% ----75% what ever & try a test stick spraw 4 inch & do extra pass x100 if you have to try claer & maybe pearl effect . just a sujeston * What do You all think ? They got many wraps out there channels & some dip as well That can peal off clear & they would be the first place to look They do a stone chips clear that clear and scratches dont stay sun heats soft vinal recures 95% of them. Real see what they got .
    **commment anyone what you think **

    See i have always hated black wheels but the black rims and polished centers always looked good, the way the camera shows that it looks like a blend of black and chrome….ish. Ive also never cared enough to worry about keeping wheels prestine either so the way those looked would be perfect for me except for one thing….once you bolt them on and the washer face rips the paint off around them, you will be doing something to cover the bald spots lol

      This is NC. I don’t care what others think of my work. I show it all good and bad so when others mess up they can relate and see not everyone’s perfect. I openly admit to shoty work and hacking up jobs. Even have had titles labeled the biggest hack job on RUclips. I don’t hide things or edit out things to make myself look perfect or good. I’m me and I show the world that with no care of what others think. It’s got me to 10,000 subscribers so far. Thanks for watching

    I totally get how camera and in person is substantially different I think if you fallow there process buy the T also if your that picky why can't you build up the base sand and clear then sand to the edge of flat as flat can get then spay it ? Isn't that the process on getting paint flat 🤔 personally idk I have painted Mazda rx7s back in 90s early 2000 with sindlfle stage even cleared got my white one to look nice it was white but still I cleared over it like it was not a single stage lol after some sanding and buffing she looked shetynyc aka. "Shitty-nice" 😂 I always loved painting I grew up in a show car household my dad owned a 79 vette that was candy apple red with silver base all emblems were shaved and handles molding exc car won multiple I mean alot of best of show paint it looked like a sheet of glass this is in florida heat as well if you ever done any body work especially with a glass body and those horrible rubber plastic bumpers they sag fiberglass sags bad in heat that car still today is in the exact condition it was sold in no sag the owner of a major chevy dealership owns it now i think glass moves alot I take no credit for the work I will put him on blast his name was mitch at cross roads body shop in Deltona FL he is the

      @@ThePaintPaperHustle give them a try. i use them for waterborne cleaner and wax and grease. i noticed a reduction in trash when i switched to them. i stick to the blue ones. you can use the other colors but i would wash and dry them first because ive noticed on some of that orange ones fresh out the pack that they would bleed a lil of the color/dye onto white cars. but after they have been washed they didn’t do it.
