She's beautiful, yet she has a certain shyness in her that feels vulnerable yet real and down-to-earth. She always reminds me of Michelle Pfeifer, another breathtakingly beautiful woman who doesn't just strut around like a diva.
Fun fact Kim Basinger was the first choice to play Catherine Tramell in Basic Instinct but she turned it down. And then the role was given to Sharon Stone who slayed the role.
Kim Basinger should ve get nominated for Oscars in "9 1/2 Weeks" It was a very good performance ., when she was crying in the end of the movie I thought it was real , didn't think it was a movie ... That's acting.

Kimila "Kim" Basinger was born in Athens, Georgia on December 8, 1953. She is celebrating her 71st birthday, today, December 8, 2024. She is an American actress. She has garnered acclaim for her work in film, for which she has received various accolades including an Academy Award, a Golden Globe Award, a Screen Actors Guild Award, and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. . In 2011 Los Angeles Times Magazine ranked her third on the "50 Most Beautiful Women In Film". For her femme fatale portrayal in L.A. Confidential (1997), Basinger won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.
Kimila Ann Basinger (Athens, Georgia, 8 de diciembre de 1953), más conocida como Kim Basinger, es una actriz, productora y modelo estadounidense, varias veces galardonada por su desempeño actoral y por su carrera como modelo.
I have loved her since I saw her in one of her earliest movies. She has all of the qualities and talents of a fine fine actress on top of being naturally highly sensitive and exquisitely beautiful. I dont know a lot about Alec Baldwin but I think he turned out to be a horrible person to her and to their daughter, but more than that, he has sold out to depraved Hollywood. The fact that they took the Match game which was a classy show and turned it into a sleazy vulgar show is just one example. I would never watch it. The audio tape released where he was yelling at his daughter Ireland, 20+ years ago was one example of his tremendous Narcissism. Its only mushroomed from there. I hate his sense if humor and his smug, entitled, self absorption. I sense gecwas abusive to Kim and daughter. Kim is highly sensitive and I wonder why Alec had to leave her. He is a jerk. He has moved on andbus having children with some younger woman Hilaria who us a yoga instructor, not sure but, He is an example of an abusive man in my opinion. I could never get along with someone so entitled and sleazy. He's a real creep.
Alec wasn’t horrible to Kim, he stood by her side during all the court battles after buying that town and lawsuits from movie studios. Alec wasn’t horrible to Ireland as a whole, yes he did leave that message, and he regrets it, but as a whole, he’s a good father to Ireland, and she seemed to agree. After they got divorced, Alec said one of the reasons was he didn’t want to live in LA, Kim did. Kim also has agoraphobia, which she said took a toll on those around her and that Alec wasn’t mentally available for that kind of stuff. Kim used parental alienation against Alec and attempted to basically brainwash Ireland into hating Alec. Although it didn’t work. Alec had enough and just went off on a tangent in that voicemail. It’s not narcissism, it’s being tried of the parental alienation against you and someone trying to ruin a parent and child bond for no reason.
I just found this old post I wrote 2 years ago. Of course I don't know these two individuals or their daughter. To be honest, I have felt sick over that unexpected shooting that happened on the set of Rust last year. Its just awful. I can see how Alec would have his limits with certain things with any woman. He is self focused, but most of us are. I don't know these people and can't judge them. I feel bad for Alec and I don't feel like I need to judge any of them. I think in Hollywood people lose track of their egos because it's part of Hollywood and its culture. Alec is going through hell, I bet. His mom died this summer, I think. I think Kim has moved on and has had to rebuild her life a few times.
@@maidenmarian1 hey. I did see them. Just now. I agree that we all focus on ourselves and make sure to take care of ourselves, most of us aren’t selfish; or narcissists. I don’t think Alec is a narcissist because if he was, there are certain things he just wouldn’t do. Alec wouldn’t be capable of talking the way he does, or talk about the things he talks about if he was a narcissist.
Her beauty is really inside a remarkably honest She is just like a girl George I would leave my in a minute to live in the town she tried to create She is a very beautiful woman I would like her if she wasn't I know what means re; how much we love our children The only real love I ever felt
finally we saw little Bio on Kim Basinger 1 of Hollywood biggest actresses 80's 90s but i just wish she made more Drama / Romance movies ala Vivien Leigh , Bette Davis , Sofia Loren & Bardot. IMO Final Analysis wasn't bad except the ending was a bit cheap. She wanted to do more Action less drama but i guess it was the timing..demand was much more for Action-movies
5 years later, 1994, she sold the small town for 1/20th of what she paid for it. I guess the tourists just weren't burning up the highways to get to Basinger-ville. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Braselton,_Georgia#cite_note-11
Mickey Rourke abused her on the set of 9 1/2 weeks. He and the director verbally and physically abused her. It’s sickening cuz no one was held accountable. I feel so horribly for her
Jon Peters, who produced "Batman", claimed that he saw Kim Basinger's first husband being abusive towards her in a London restaurant and that led to them coming to blows.
I just thought about this interview after reading this Yahoo! article about all of the controversies surrounding "The Marrying Man" 30 years later. Looking at this interview, why is Kim Basinger so angry? It's like this whole woman's life dating back to when she was still in Georgia, was miserable. It's like, does she have any happy memories of her childhood in Athens? She makes it sound like, it's the most boring, mundane life you can live when compared to the "big city" like Hollywood. Also, Kim had been a working actress for nearly 15 years at the time of this interview. You would think that in that particular business, it would be in your best interest to not publicly trash your bosses or co-workers. Even if you personally have issues with Disney as a company, I don't think that it's a good idea to go on national television, accuse them (one of the most powerful multi-media conglomerates in the world) of being cheap and pushing people down. Why should it personally bother Kim that the director of "The Marrying Man" directed "The Brave Little Toaster"? Is it because Jerry Rees directed this little kids fantasy animated film and didn't have a lot of experience directing in live-action? The last time that I checked, "The Brave Toaster" (in her words), has a 77% score on Rotten Tomatoes. I mean, Kim Basinger had worked with Tim Burton on "Batman". Tim Burton himself worked for Disney and was an animator before he became a full-fledged film director in his own right. Does that mean that Tim Burton himself, doesn't have any real talent or isn't worthy of her time?
She is figuratively knitting her hands at one point. She is genuinely introverted. At the end, her sneer almost predicts the ruinous future with Alec Baldwin to come. A case of what draws you together eventually drives you apart?
Interesting listening to Basinger talk about her Playboy shoot 6:21. It's great that she posed nude over the objections of friends and it's great that posing nude opened doors for her however the pictorial she did for the february 1983 issue of Playboy didn't do her justice. It was just nude art photography. It was beautiful but not very erotic. The Women of Aspen pictorial that appeared in the same issue which had pics of extremely attractive blondes & brunettes in hot pants, bikinis, or completely nude out in the snow, was much sexier. Basinger should've mingled with those girls instead.
She meant movies that people want to see in mass numbers. Basically action blockbusters (which were the Marvel movies of the 80s and 90s)...not small Intimate love stories and dramas. That's why she said "pick up a sword, wear a costume" and mentioned Arnold, Stallone and Bruce Willis. She was saying to the actresses to quit complaining and start copying what those guys are doing. She essentially predicted what would happen 25 years later.
@@jackbauer4186 I find it kind of ironic that she mentions Bruce Willis, when she was in Bruce Willis' first big movie. It was this movie for Blake Edwards called "Blind Date". At the time, Willis was still primarily known for his role on the TV series "Moonlighting". "Blind Date" was a minor hit, but it pretty much became a footnote in light of Bruce Willis' true film breakthrough, "Die Hard' a year later. When Willis was making "Blind Date" with Kim Basinger, I don't think that most people (kind of like when Michael Keaton worked with her in "Batman") immediately saw him as this credible action hero guy.
I think in '91 Kim was indifferent to the studio system vs her prime time of late 80s. She never dug her heels in for 40+ yrs like Davis, Gardner or Taylor at MGM & Warner's. Don't complain or explain yet cash a paycheck L
You can buy a house but how can you buy a town? Hundreds of people live in that small town. What does it even mean to "buy a town"? Sounds ridiculoius.
Why does Kim Basinger always seem so miserable? Even today, she can't help but tell anybody who would listen about being agoraphobic and scared of virtually any and everything to the point in which she claims that she had to literally relearn of to drive. Why did this woman even become an actress in the first place if she's so uncomfortable with the idea of being a public figure?
She's beautiful, yet she has a certain shyness in her that feels vulnerable yet real and down-to-earth. She always reminds me of Michelle Pfeifer, another breathtakingly beautiful woman who doesn't just strut around like a diva.
