Love the Mirage. While it isn't my absolute favorite aircraft, it has had a special place in my heart since I was a child, and it's only gotten better since then. The thumbnail caught me off guard. I literally asked:"When did they add 'The Six' into DCS?!" That livery goes really well with the Mirage, since both aircraft have such a similar basic configuration.
Hey Cap more accurate way to set BAD offset is to make a waypoint after the IP waypoint (so IP is waypoint 2, so make waypoint 3 the target). In the waypoint description, type #CONVERT_TO_BAD. When you load the mission that will be taken out of the waypoint sequence and placed as BAD for the preceeding waypoint. Alternatively, use alt-y in the mission planner until you get x and y display. Note the x/y of the IP and the x/y of the target. Subtract the IP from the target. Use the lat/long BAD offset option and enter your results. - x is west, +x is east. -y is south, +y is north. This gives you a resolution to the meter.
Yep! this technique works great. The majority of the times that I use this I'm deploying laser guided weapons, so the additional accuracy isn't necessarily required, but it does allow for targeting of a known position or to just set up everything in the editor :)
Any idea on how to fix the last mission of the vanilla Mirage campaign? It was built before this offset update and it seems like it was never updated accordingly, as it still says INS update at WP2 but target at WP6, which doesnt work anymore. Any help? :(
@@grimreapers I found the problem. I could just turn off INS drift, then use WP5 with its actual ground height for the INS update and then just fly towards the target (without changing steerpoints) with the proper A/G designation.
I am new to the Mirage, but is anyone having trouble with the radar after last patch? For the life of me I cannot get the radar to work and turn on properly so CCIP and CCRP doesn't work, (no pipper symbol on HUD) but bombs still drop ok, I have watched every youtube vid, read every online forum and am doing correct startup with CMD forward, it's driving me crazy!!!!!!
Is any of this in the manual now? I can't understand how they spend so much time updating the aircraft, but fail to tell us how to use it. Infuriating!
The creation of waypoint offsets is in the official manual, but it has not be updated to include RD or offset bombing yet (an update is in the works, but I believe these are both in Chuck's Guide on the mirage). These items not being in the official manual yet are part of why Cap felt it was important to get this tutorial out to you all :)
Hello, I am learning to do TOSS bombing with the M2000, I have a question and I would appreciate your help. I have seen that you supposedly had 3 waypoints, in the 3rd you put the data of the OFFSET and the RD, but the AG Designate, You did it long before, so how is it that the bomb goes to Waypoint 3? I don't know if I explained myself well, sorry for my English
*CHANGES TO CONTROLS Nov 2021:

Great videos with Kortana/Cortana such a clear voice, might have to get back intothe Mirage.

After watching enough videos it's clear Cortana is probably the best pilot/5head of the bunch. Super steady flying and procedure.
Yup she's probably the best pilot I've flown with in my 6 years.
@@grimreapers :)
Thank you very much for covering this, many interesting changes in the Mirage!
I gotta say, the Mirage is getting pretty interesting these days
I'm with you, love the Mirage. All we gotta do is write the french ambassador and get a Fox 3
@@emfournet an M-2000-5 would be nice. Make sure to include that in the letter. 😆
It's like everyday I hop on to play and I have to redo my hotas mapping, annoying. But I'm happy to see the mirage getting some love!
Tell her that we love her
Thanks Kortana and Cap
I've said it before... ;) Cortana all day!
We love our Kortana!
Yay Cortana!
Cortana? The Windows 10 assistant? How does it work in DCS?
Awesome aircraft
The French Air Force is really helping Razbam, at the same time I feel bad for you Cap
Yeh pretty fed up of this. Thank God for Kortana is all I can say...

hey cap, why have you turned off shadows in recent videos?
👀
Accident will be back on soon.
Question/Suggestion: can a AV-8b Harrier, in hover (sub-5k ft), get lost in a opponents notch filter?
yes absolutely! ~essentially becomes invisible.
Never mind us how are you Bro?
Why can't rb do this before releasing it?
Yes, RB are problematic.

An AI MQ-9 was scripted to lase the targets :)
