@@anonymous17367 Yeah, I was sad to hear about that. I hope that they will be able to pick that project up at some point in the future. The updated avionics and MICA A/A missiles would make the mirage a formidable opponent.

You know, I've owned three mirage for quite a while but haven't given it much time.. I think I'll have to change that, it's such a nice looking bird.

Also finally ground radar is implemented!(or at least i dont remember it working, haven't played DCS in awhile do to poor performance). This is some really fantastic stuff, i believe we will see more updates that will eventually turn the DCS mirage into the modern mirage 2000-5
Those are two different birds, so reworking one into another is quite a bad idea. I'd rather hope that they will do sort of add-on (like the on that was made for A-10) thus you will have standard version and modernized version available.
I do not play in multiplayer but with sort of arms-race and proliferation of the very modern fighter modules, 2000-5 version would make Mirage more competitive, multiplayer-wise.

Mirage is pretty much the only module I paid full price for. It could have been my favorite module, except I never play it because the buttons and switches are almost invisible in VR. Tiny, with zero contrast. Same thing with the radar.
That’s a shame, I’ve been getting into it lately and I’m loving it.
It’s also almost entirely HOTAS mappable aside from the start up. Does the cockpit lighting not help see switches in VR? Or just knowing where they are with a little practice?
@@Bullet4MyEnemy Short answer, no and no, at least not for me. It's mainly the radar switches on the left, the radios, nav lights etc. The INS is pretty hard work too, but just about useable if you map it to the numeric keypad. I think one of the reasons is that RAZBAM actually got the cockpit dimensions accurate, it feels small and cramped like it should do (at least from my limited experience of "sitting in things in museums"). I think other modules in VR feel artificially enlarged to enhance clarity on PC (looking at you Mig 21 and F14).There was a user mod I tried to install called 'lighter cockpit textures' or something similar, but it didn't change the textures for me. I do love the up front instruments though, with the analogue pitch ball, the simple radio nav that can do offset fixes, and the clear and simple HUD it feels like a real life Tie Fighter, so perhaps I should give it another go. Just that life is much less frustrating in the F14/F16/F18.

The INS I can see being a pain, but I’ve mapped all the radar controls I need to my throttle, radio’s don’t need touching that often to be a problem, do they? I could survive without external lights…
How does the mouse work in VR? I’d have expected it to be easier than with head tracking, I find it quite hard to nail down the curves for TrackIR, I feel as if I’m holding pretty still but the view still sometimes runs away from me when I’m trying to flick switches etc. but without curves and it all being 1:1, I’d have thought using the mouse would be a breeze.
@@Bullet4MyEnemy In VR almost every Plane gets you a lot of home training... When you want to look back you have to physically turn your head and upper body 180 degrees... Can be stressful when someone is chasing you and constantly looking left and right over the shoulder especially in War birds.
Don't want to know how ridiculous it must look for someone entering the room 😄
But VR is a whole other world, I don't want to get back to a flat 2D view of the DCS world through this "window" called screen since my first flight in VR and the mouse just work fine, I hit better than with track ir, much more stable for me
13:40 - so I landed, and re-armed with BF6 and BF8 munitions. Took off, and next to the ARM switch there isn't TAS RS P1, but there is RDO TAF LEN RAP. How do I switch that back?
Cap, an important note is the change for the F-14. Guns will now NOT work without air source. people usually keep it off because its noisy so i imagine there will be alot of people scratching their heads why the gun wont fire

question is ...how to use bap 100 anti runway with aaa and sam...i tryed to do it..and it s a gambler..a kind of action like the gulf war with panavia tornado ;)
Your strike package would then have to contain a sead/dead flight which times ahead of your runway attack, and you commence attack only after sead clears you. If sead is not available then it's definitely a gamble and your battle planners would decide an alternate based on risk and tactical advantage.

@@slash11985 So I encountered almost exactly this problem in a multiplayer mission last week. We ended up arriving before our SEAD/DEAD package, but couldn't really wait for them. We came in at about 500 knots at ~50 feet, then executed two quick jinks to confuse AAA, climbed to 200 feet, and aligned with the runway. Between the maneuvering and the countermeasures, the defenses were never able to get a good shot off at us. It can definitely be done, but it is risky.
@@KortanaDCS the main problem is also to be align with the runway.. The m2 don't have (like f 16) the course line.. So need to pop up and then get low again to see runway direction
@@slash11985 Yes, that is generally a limitation with this attack profile. Careful alignment of waypoints on the ingress can allow you to get pretty close though.

Do they improved the Gun Piper frequency ? M2000 targeting with guns is really bad. Also with the JF17. Needs to be smoothed out and more direct calculated. The gun target solution is very delayed. I Think its more badly in Multiplayer than in single Player. Probably its a Multiplayer sync Problem.
Only if it's also better in reality. If the real sights are as bad, sadly we have to just live with it.
I believe it is simulating the real thing. Same with the Tomcat. Bear in mind this is using an early 80's computer!
There's one thing I'm not sure I understand. We can't use CCIP and CCRP with the 530D, but is it possible to carry them when taking off, use them or jettison them before performing an attack, and use AG mode when they're not on the plane anymore? Or do they block AG mode for the whole flight? If so it is a real shame because it compltely kills self escort missions, which are a whole lot of fun in the mirage. It doesn't even sound realistic at all, all other NATO planes can carry fox1s and AG munitions.
It is 100% like IRL. You can self escort with Magics only. Play in MP and have buddys escorting you, it’s much more fun and realistic that self escort.

There was a desired route following option that was mentioned sometime earlier, is it implemented yet?

I just checked latest update on Chuck's guide and it's included, I'm yet to confirm by myself. Looks like this option enables you to approach a waypoint from a desired heading/route. I saw a video much earlier from Razbam but had not seen it in updates list.
@@arunr5756 It has been implemented and actually works pretty well as a tool for getting lined up prior to the IP for waypoint offset bombing (i.e. you might see it in action in a video soon).

I always assumed that incendiary would be more effective against other jets. Could you test this please?

Not being able to use the Super 530 with A/G Loadouts is a massive nerf to the Mirage. It basically kills any ability it had to self-escort itself
Self escort isn’t realistic at all… you can’t replace a true AA escort. Get some buddys escorting your bomb runs, it will be much more fun (as well as realistic)
There is no such thing as nerf in a realistic sim, just more realism. It’s not intended to be balanced. But to be the best possible replica of the real thing.
