    Greetings from Ukraine. A couple of years ago, you shot a video with an F-16 in Ukraine. It was a pleasure to watch. Thank you. Now the F-16 is a reality in Ukraine. Dreams come true. I hope there will be more videos with actual livery, equipment and weapons. There are a lot of people on this channel who know a lot about aviation. It would be great to know in detail what we have now and what it can do in the game.
    Recently, a Ukrainian Su-27 pilot gave an interview in which he said that Russian pilots are extremely careful, but regularly make mistakes: he was flying a mission and a Russian pilot flew 10 km away from the front at an altitude of 8,000 meters to launch a R-37 missile. For the record, the Ukrainian pilot was also farther away from the front, so the distance between them was more than 10 km. The Ukrainian pilot said that he simply did not have the technical ability to respond. And that the AMRAAM missile could have shot down the Russian. Maybe you can model this or some other situation with the capabilities of the F-16. It would be interesting.

    the OTH might be able to see something is there but a fast moving F35 that is not going in a straight line is going to give a huge amount of error for pinpointing where it is. That doesn't include the chance they are flying low either. They are only really useful for early warning and maybe pointing in a possible place for other radars to look. Given the are huge and stationary they are juicy first strike targets.
    F-35s would be used in conjunction with long range jamming.

    • @MrDJAK777
      @MrDJAK777 2 месяца назад +3

      F35 can do its own jamming via it's radar and standalone EW suite barracuda. And if there's a few working together they really don't need any outside jamming help.

      @PotatoeJoe69 2 месяца назад +4

      Really no reason to carry external fuel tanks on an F-35. The plane carries more fuel internally than an F-15 does with full internal tanks AND full drop tanks.

    • @colbunkmust
      @colbunkmust 2 месяца назад +7

      @@PotatoeJoe69 The reason to carry more fuel is to be able to fly further, faster, or longer. It doesn't matter how much the internal tanks on the F-35 can carry, you can still burn all of that fuel in minutes if you go fast enough or are going evasive, and the current maximum combat radius is still a limitation for many operations.

    23:40 "The F-35 has been spotted" - Hamas leader leaves his hideout... which begs the question: "Has the F-35 really ever been spotted???" Or, perhaps it was spotted but was never identified... It's great if you can spot stealth nearly 200 miles away but it's almost pointless if you cannot identify it as either "friendly" or potentially "hostile" and then decide to just "do nothing".
    I think, If they did see something on their long range radar, they never bothered to scramble any fighters because they just did not know what it was that they where looking at and did not think for one second that any hostile would be flying alone, so deep, into their air space. Plus scrambling fighters is expensive and if it turned out that they scrambled fighters for no reason, their necks would be on the line. So, rather do nothing, for as long the object cannot be confirmed as "Hostile".
    But they have surely learned their lesson and will not be so complacent again... (one would think).

  • @WardenWolf
    @WardenWolf 2 месяца назад

    Of course, in reality the F-35 would also be carrying air-to-air missiles and those F-14's would be toast. It doesn't have to outrun them. It's probably still more maneuverable and its high off boresight missiles would wreck them. But going with the stipulation that they weren't allowed to shoot down any Iranian aircraft to avoid an al out war, that makes it a lot more difficult.

      although they used a standoff munition to destroy the radar of a S200 on the last attack and the explosion wasnt big at all (so probably a harop or harpy? launching from air)
      people claim it was a planted bomb, but since the S200 they showed deep iran can be reached with standoff without needing to fight anti-air (like the other way around) anyway. maybe we'll know in a few months, someone might spill the beans!

    I was thinking.. USA lack a 6th gen fighter, they also lack a 6th gen missile. But what if...
    They pyt a AIM-174 into a B-21 bomber and use that as a fighter. To my calculation they should fit 8 AIM-174 in the internal bay of the B-21 and still retain full stealth.
    yes, the B21 is not supersonic. But on the other hand the stealth is so much better than the F22 and F35 that i really doubt it matter.
    Yes, the B21 lack air to air radar. But does it really matter. They probobly would use the radar from a secondary aircraft anyway.
    I would also say that a lot of Air to air missiles probobly have a to small of a load to take a B21 down that is a robust and quite large aircraft, also twin engined, so it need a quite considerable hit to take it out.
    On top of that, IR tracking missile would have a really hard time locking on a B21, and so would a radar guided one. Probably the only type that even could lock would be a radio guided missile. This kind of make it complicated for the enemy becasue then they need a radar lock from a flying radar that probobly is pretty far away, on a B21 that is really hard to even spot

    You know this video reminded me that in '91, Iraq sent a lot of its Airforce to Iran. Which, Iran of course kept and sent the pilots back thanking Saddam for the donation. Some of those aircraft still in service with Iran, or broken up for spare parts to keep other platforms going.
    I wonder what would have happened if a day before Desert Storm kicked off with the air campaign, if Iraq had (somehow) managed to mass and then launch a massive air attack, expending the air force instead on a mostly one-way trip to try and reach the allied airfields in Iraq and destroy as many of the allied aircraft on the ground as they could, especially the Nighthawks.
    I mean I think it would have been utterly impossible as the allied air forces had a considerable standing CAP with multiple AWACS and several independent carrier groups in the Gulf, but it might have actually done genuine damage to the strike aircraft squadrons on the ground...

      Between its own IRST and datalink being a step above everything else and the fact that IRST ranges are generally quite a bit shorter than radar and usually don't give range information w/o triangulation/lasing (which the F-35 can passively track), it's not going to be as much a problem for the F-35 as it is the other guy because their options being limited makes then tactically and strategically predictable.

    • @badwolftx2139
      @badwolftx2139 2 месяца назад +1

      @@forzaelite1248 Yea...just thinking...Russia claims to be able to track stealth. It's actually theoretically VERY possible with LF radar or IRST or a combination of both ...especially with data link and advanced signal processing to triangulate returns.
      An additional factor...going forward, all the major players are probably also likely to attempt to use drones to employ advanced signal jamming to try to limit the range and effectiveness of data link over specific theaters of interest.
