    Hello everyone,
    as a warning - do not believe everything the seller writes.
    Watch I got was supposed to be in perfect condition! the mechanism was to be serviced and in perfect condition without any problems / faults. just a broken stem, nothing else, the watch was supposed to run perfectly until the stem broke. in fact, the watch had a worn main spring, it has a problem with the balance wheel and one of the wheels, damaged setting lever spring ... and see the final for yourself

    A lovely service on the movement with superb videotography. Such a shame about the case!

    A great video! This illustrates the risky side of restoring expensive vintage watches. You buy what seems like a reasonable Omega that’s missing a crown and stem, only to find out later that it’s a Frankenwatch. So now you’re looking for an expensive case for the movement you’ve serviced, and an expensive movement for the case you now own. On top of the not-so-cheap setting lever spring, a signed crown, and maybe NOS signed crystals for the two of them. Another tricky side is that sometimes the dials have been refinished and the sellers haven’t disclosed that. Buyer beware!

      hello, thank you for a good word. I agree with you, you have to be very careful when buying watches that require attention. sometimes very serious problems are hidden. and in the end was very profitable to buy a watch in good condition, fully functional.
      Regards
      Karol

    Great video, and definitely a sad ending with the mismatched case. I liked how you tilted the movement up for a great view while seating the wheel pivots in the train bridge.

    Hi my friend.I think You did a great job restoring this movement.I agree that what seller writes and even pictures are not always honest. But dont worry i think at least you have a good case and a nicely restored movement for two watches in the future or even for spare parts.
    Good luck!!! And by the way that movement lookes realy nice!!!

    That’s what really scares me about buying from sites like eBay etc. you pay hundreds for some thing that turns out to cost you a fortune in replacement parts that’s if you can get them. I’m very new to watch repair and have stayed in the £60-70 pound max bracket. But moving up to better quality movements £4-5 hundred fills me with dread. Lovely photography on your films. Work of art I think.

    Well, it can be argued the 561 is a better movement than any of the 1000 Series, but a shame about the dinged movement parts too.
    At least it didn't have a Quartz movement installed like the other RUclipsr had in the Omega he bought! 😂
    Good Work though!

      Hello, I personally think that 561 is a better mechanism than the 1000 series. I agree a better such a surprise as the quartz inside, I have already replaced this quartz with a nice 601. I have already ordered the right case for this constellation

    Sad ending to a beautiful watch. I noticed that you don't take out the click, any reason for that or is it fear of that nasty little spring?

    • @Karol235
      @Karol235  2 года назад +1

      I believe that it is not always necessary, in this caliber you can wash the entire bridge together with the clicks. You can also oil it without taking it off. but it's true, I don't like little springs :)

  • @davidkettlewell829
    @davidkettlewell829 Год назад +2

    I'll provide you an inexpensive solution...use a mini lathe and mini drill press to cut a new guide for the stem, or have someone do it for you. It's never going to be right, but it can be as they say, "wrong right." Or you could make and glue in a small sleeve in the stem guide, which accomplishes the same goal. The cost of a mint case, or mint movement will be beyond reach, tis my concern. Much nicer condition case and face than is typical. I'm wondering what year watch?

    • @Karol235
      @Karol235  Год назад +1

      hello, that was a client's watch. the order was for maintenance only. disassembly cleaning fresh oil, you know what's going on. the customer delivered the stem and crown watch. I was to assemble it and prepare it for use. the client bought the second case
