Hello everyone,
as a warning - do not believe everything the seller writes.
Watch I got was supposed to be in perfect condition! the mechanism was to be serviced and in perfect condition without any problems / faults. just a broken stem, nothing else, the watch was supposed to run perfectly until the stem broke. in fact, the watch had a worn main spring, it has a problem with the balance wheel and one of the wheels, damaged setting lever spring ... and see the final for yourself Наука
A lovely service on the movement with superb videotography. Such a shame about the case!
Thank you
A great video! This illustrates the risky side of restoring expensive vintage watches. You buy what seems like a reasonable Omega that’s missing a crown and stem, only to find out later that it’s a Frankenwatch. So now you’re looking for an expensive case for the movement you’ve serviced, and an expensive movement for the case you now own. On top of the not-so-cheap setting lever spring, a signed crown, and maybe NOS signed crystals for the two of them. Another tricky side is that sometimes the dials have been refinished and the sellers haven’t disclosed that. Buyer beware!
hello, thank you for a good word. I agree with you, you have to be very careful when buying watches that require attention. sometimes very serious problems are hidden. and in the end was very profitable to buy a watch in good condition, fully functional.
Regards
Karol
That is why I always by broken watches on eBay! Nice job restoring the movement though! Well done.
Thank you !
Great video, and definitely a sad ending with the mismatched case. I liked how you tilted the movement up for a great view while seating the wheel pivots in the train bridge.
Thank you !
Your uploads are getting better and better mate. Thanks 🙏
Thank you very much, I'm trying my best !
Hi my friend.I think You did a great job restoring this movement.I agree that what seller writes and even pictures are not always honest. But dont worry i think at least you have a good case and a nicely restored movement for two watches in the future or even for spare parts.
Good luck!!! And by the way that movement lookes realy nice!!!
I agree with you, it's not the end of the world. In the future, two beautiful watches will be made of these parts
@@Karol235 Yes sure. And i'm waitting for them if you want to make a video of them. Thanks for reply!!!
Calibre 561 is one of the best movements Omega has ever made.
I agree with you, the whole 500 family
That’s what really scares me about buying from sites like eBay etc. you pay hundreds for some thing that turns out to cost you a fortune in replacement parts that’s if you can get them. I’m very new to watch repair and have stayed in the £60-70 pound max bracket. But moving up to better quality movements £4-5 hundred fills me with dread. Lovely photography on your films. Work of art I think.
Thank You
Great video and lovely job done. Weird thing that is second video today that im watching with omega constellation that got broken setting lever spring 🤔🤔
Thank You ! this is a very common problem in these calibers 6xx 5xx
@@Karol235 thanks for replay :) never to much knowledge 😉
Good service! Really glad to see more people coming there on RUclips to share their work on watches. Did you manage to solve the problem with the case?
Thank you for the kind word, the problem is supposedly solved. is a customer's watch, he sent it directly after purchase. the proper movement is already bought, the watch case is still there and there will be two.
@@Karol235 oh so there will be two watches!😂 why not buying just the regular case for the movement you serviced?
Okay, did not see that coming.
will not be a continuation
Regards
Karol
Good job!
Thank you Justyna !
That was an enjoyable video to watch, I learnt some things thank you, such a shame that you got sold a dodgy watch though.
Thank you
truing caliper for the balance and forth wheel?
hello i did nothing but maintenance. that was the order, without repairs
Such a shame , I presume that explains all the “injuries” inside the movement? .. nice to watch anyway despite the sad outcome 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🙏🏻🍻
Thank You
Great videos! May I ask what camera do you use? Regards
Thank you, I'm recording with the poco x3 phone
Well, it can be argued the 561 is a better movement than any of the 1000 Series, but a shame about the dinged movement parts too.
At least it didn't have a Quartz movement installed like the other RUclipsr had in the Omega he bought! 😂
Good Work though!
Hello, I personally think that 561 is a better mechanism than the 1000 series. I agree a better such a surprise as the quartz inside, I have already replaced this quartz with a nice 601. I have already ordered the right case for this constellation
Thank you
Did the seamaster started as a waterproof watch in moisture enviroments like in ships?
I can't answer that question exactly, but I do know one thing, the seamaster line has a lot to do with water and water resistance.
Sir, why did you not remove the bend in the wheel and balance wheel? It can be removed by slow adjustment.
hello, thanks for the comment. I'm sorry but I don't know what you mean, what you mean. or at what point in the movie?
Regards
Karol
What kind of time grapher results did you get?
not perfect 210-230 degrees, plus 14-20 sec beet error good 0.2MS LA49
Sad ending to a beautiful watch. I noticed that you don't take out the click, any reason for that or is it fear of that nasty little spring?
I believe that it is not always necessary, in this caliber you can wash the entire bridge together with the clicks. You can also oil it without taking it off. but it's true, I don't like little springs :)
I'll provide you an inexpensive solution...use a mini lathe and mini drill press to cut a new guide for the stem, or have someone do it for you. It's never going to be right, but it can be as they say, "wrong right." Or you could make and glue in a small sleeve in the stem guide, which accomplishes the same goal. The cost of a mint case, or mint movement will be beyond reach, tis my concern. Much nicer condition case and face than is typical. I'm wondering what year watch?
hello, that was a client's watch. the order was for maintenance only. disassembly cleaning fresh oil, you know what's going on. the customer delivered the stem and crown watch. I was to assemble it and prepare it for use. the client bought the second case
Very nice restoration, must assume that you did the oiling and greasing off camera, shame about the case but the case back numbers should have warned you that things were not correct. Hope you find a correct case as this watch looks excepional.
Thank you,
everything is oiled unfortunately I can't show everything because the movie would have an hour
nice movement and great video,....buying will always be a risk, online or in person...trust me, i know...lol
Thank you, I believe you, many people have had similar adventures with online shopping
Good job! Lot of unscrupulous people out there my friend. Trust but verify is my motto anymore. Cheers!
Thank You
Goodluck getting a case
Thank you
what is the price of this watch?
this is a customer's watch, not for sale
I hope the seller at least offered you a partial refund. Nice job tho, would love to see it in the correct case
Thank you, proper watch case already ordered. there will be a happy ending
Nice job, shame about so many problems though. How will you sort it?, would love to hear your voice. 👍
Thank you,
I thought about commenting out loud but I record with the phone and the sound quality is terrible. maybe in the future when I have better equipment
@@Karol235 that would be great!, also increase your subs. 👍
You can found the good movment ...or an ETA compaptible.
the correct mechanism was not a problem
❤
👍
Sad ....
👍
nice dial and hands though.
Thank you
Wow, what a shame.
sometimes it happens when you shop online
Omega
omega :)
Why you keep rebuilding the movement when you realize that a wheel and the balance are warped? You have to straighten and true them mate
hello, I do not fully understand the question you ask why did not I replace the damaged parts with new ones? the answer is simple, costs. this watch was not mine, any additional cost has to be accepted by the owner. if there is no consent to the exchange. old parts are installed.
Regards
Karol
@@Karol235 nope I asked why you did notnrepair them
@@standolfo because nobody will pay for it, as I wrote it was not my watch. the watch went to basic maintenance and that's it. as little extra cost as possible. believe me or not, there are people who make me install worn main springs and waive the warranty for a few pounds
Big surprise
Sad surprise
Dishonest seller
definitely !
fake box
different reference, originally there was a different caliber
you did a great job!
Thank you Karo :)
