I have a few words for the last guy that worked on this watch. The springbar was too long and had to be cut out, the mainspring and barrel assembly was the wrong one and he forced the bridge down over it. So the bridge is warped. The short screw for the balance cock was missing and the guy installed one too long, which was contacting the calendar wheel. To reduce tension on the calendar wheel, the guy added shims on the screw posts. There were three broken screw from over tightening. The case clamp screw was too small and just placed in the hole. The only thing I wasn't unable to fix were the hands and dial. The hands were worn down through the plating, filled with paint, and warped. The dial is warped around the the dial foot between 11 and 12, looks like he could figure out the dial screws and pried the dial off. Absolute mess!
Luckily, I had spare parts, so now it's running strong and dependable. I have hands on order and if I find a really nice dial, I'll swap that too, haha.

Thanks! I was super excited to get this on the wrist!
thanks for sharing, great video....👍👍
No problem!
See, I was about to comment about the hands being dirty, and I noticed that mounting screw for the date wheel was all chewed up,then I read your comment notes. Ya its a shame when some Yahoo puts their hands on such a work of art! I see you played everything at regular speed for this one.
Yeah, I tried to manipulate the hands into shape, they are better, but the minute hand started to crack, so I stopped and ordered a new pair. I try to post and regular speed when there's no background noise, which I hate. Silence bugs me, haha. But if there's movies or music on in the background, RUclips cancels the upload for copyright issues. That's why I speed them up.
Also the hands are actually clean, just dull cuz they are brass and I tried to Nushine them with silver, so they would sort of match, haha. They are silver...ish. it's work until I get some nice omega hands on
Bravo!
Thanks!
not gonna fix the loose bracelet?
I'm not sure what you mean...
@@ddaavvee the bracelet is very worn/loose. It looks like it might fall apart. Doesn’t it need new link pins/collars?
@@jonabitstream it's actually a nice bracelet. Maybe the camera angles are just bad, but this is one of the nicer beads of rice bracelets I own. The endlinks are a little cheap and not a snug fit, but that's not going to hurt anything with how often I wear it.
@@ddaavvee I’ve never seen a new bracelet bend sideways like that (have seen many old ones do that). I’ve seen Rolex bracelet restoration videos where they replace the link pins which wear down over time, making the connections between links sloppy/loose.
@@jonabitstream this is definitely an old bracelet, but it's also a beads of rice. They tend to lay a little flatter, links have more play. I generally do not rebuild bracelets unless it's not reliable and at risk of losing links. This one is very solid, none of the links are at risk of falling out. A Rolex Jubilee bracelet has much taller links and more mass to keep the links stiff or straight. The two styles are not comparable in my opinion.

I dont understand. Are you worried about my process? Or the quality of the video?
