The 'titanium is more expensive than steel' has to stop. These are 200 gr watches with very basic machining, the difference is not even 10 bucks. This is a pure cash grab from omega. This watch has a cheaper dial, a cheaper bezel, a cheaper caseback, a cheaper movement and a cheaper bracelet in the case of the Nato strap and it's 2 grand more than the regular one ? What a joke...
I got mine in May 2022 and did not look back, I still find this watch awesome, light, thin, subdued, unique and perfect for the discreet gentleman. My only criticism is that the movement should have been a 8806Ti for extra lightness.

Personally I don't mind the helium escape valve but totally appreciate why some people hate it. So an easy choice then if you are one of the latter, don't buy it. SImples. The valve is associated with the Seamaster and having it does make it recognisable from across the room. I have to agree that the bezel action is probably the weakest point at the price, not that I've found it bad or loose when twiddling the bezel, it just doesn't feel great. It's just there are better out there. Tudor for one and I'd also say the Oris Aquis from my experience. Anyway I'll pass on this one, I'll stick with my white dial 300M where I can also turn it over to see that brilliantly finished (for the price) little engine at work, it is a bit blingy though. Nice one Russ.
As he said, with the New Bond that can't swim we will probably be getting an Aqua Terra Bond edition soon. So blingy! See through case back. Pastel colors of blue, green, and yellows on a rubber strap.
I really love the design of this watch, but not enough to pay £8000, so I got the Phylida instead and I’m really happy with it! And it’s bezel-action is better, too!😊
From my experience, all the Seamasters have the same Bezel action and found them all to have a little play. Which is why I had no issue getting the NTTD version. Also helped I paid 7600 for a '23 model with both straps.
Paid the same and had the nato thrown in also when I purchased in December. Beat the price hike also which was great . Love the watch, wear it everyday at the moment
I want to love the Seamaster, it’s an all time classic from a legendary brand with an incredible movement but that helium escape barnacle just doesn’t do it for me 😂This is a great looking variation on the Seamaster but not one for me. Shame about the bezel action too. Phenomenal show as always MWC 👏👏👏👏

I owned this watch for a while. Love love love the way it looks, but moved on for a few reasons. Bezel action is not my favorite. An issue with the SMP in general imo. Plus my example had a misaligned bezel. Also, the bracelet, while fantastic looking, doesn't conform to the wrist. The bigger the wrist, the better it will wear on you. The clasp dug into my wrist like crazy and was uncomfortable. I know it can really be worn on any strap, but there was no going back once I tried the bracelet because it looks so awesome. Once that didn't work for me I knew the watch was a goner from my collection LOL
This is how Bond uses his watch: Sean > Submariner Top Time George > the Pre-Daytona (which is of course since Rolex is Brit people establish a watch company in Swiss and Bond is Brit/Swiss, so Rolex suits him most) Roger > Ham PSR Seiko Granpa Tuna Seiko Digital Tim > TAG Heuer since Pierce > Seamaster
In the books Ian Flemming only mentions Bonds watch once and simply says its a Rolex. As he personally wore an Explorer 1 while writing it is thought that this was the original Bond watch he was thinking of.
I like how the Roger Moore's Rolex still had a minute hand that friggin' reached its minute markers, while neither modern Rolex nor modern Omega seem to mind this essential feature of a dive/field watch.
Also have to add is years ago I bought ( dont tell me off) the Pagani design homage and I am pleased to say they replicated the crap bezel action perfectly!

I agree with you about the Broad Arrow - I thought there were strict MoD rules about only being applied to 'military issue' items. I love the look of this Omega but couldn't justify the cost, so I went with the Heimdallr homage at a fraction of the price, and it pretty much scratches the itch for me. Gonna call it my 'Seamster' from now on 😁
@Chris Trayling my girlfriends dad looks just like Daniel Craig and I'm thinking of getting the Heimdallr Seamaster clomage for him to take the piss. I just might.
In my opinion the best seamaster is the quartz version worn by bond in Goldeneye it's was the first Omega watch I ever brought and I prefer the more muted blue colour on the face of the watch and the bezel too, the newer versions are to blue and I really don't like the ceramic bezels or the automatic movements. I think the quartz version fitted for bond perfectly in Goldeneye.
I dunno. I've never had the salary level to justify the Rolex. Many years ago Casio did make a Subby homage in quartz with 10ATM WR and a 10-year battery, but these days for such an homage I'd go with Seiko's SNE line of 38mm ISO solar divers. I admit I've never been a fan of Omega's Bond diver line. Sometimes too-obvious marketing and product placement can put potential buyers off. (One of the reasons I prefer the Speedmaster over the Seamaster is because the history shows that the NASA endorsement was never really driven by Omega at all.)
Agreed. Owners of this watch on RUclips make me smile ( especially Bond fans). The MOD references is just wan£y & insulting to actually service personnel - I know it's a character but it's overstepping a mark from fiction - just like awarding Mr Craig a CMG (?!) , not a regular OBE like Mr Brosnan.
Great video Russ. I love Omega, and don't hate this style of Seamaster, or this watch in particular, but think the markup for this special edition is ridiculous. My Seamaster of choice is the 300 heritage with the sandwich dial. Much classier and with a warm vintage vibe- more "bond" in my mind lol. I'd love to see your thoughts on that one :) Cheers!!!
Cheers Chaz! So that watch is lovely . Reinterpretation of the first one in 1957. The bezel is too thin for me. The 67 300 which was issued to the Royal Navy….. that’s the one!!!!
It’s a great watch but definitely pick it up with the bracelet but the natos are massively overpriced for what they are. The watch is ultralight and super comfortable the helium valve isn’t needed and the Lume is epic. Great video as usual sir. You are definitely right about Rolex though Bond is Rolex.
Awesome, video! Yes, the sub or explorer are the only watches Bond would wear. I like Omega but won’t buy one because of their bezel action. The movement is great but as great as it is the Seamaster can be be better. The bezel in every Seamaster 300 pro has a tinniness to it. It never feels solid. This is from the mid 90s on and hasn’t changed.
From what I can gather the pheon (arrow ), was never 'copy' protected, so anyone can use it without permission of the MOD. In the past it has been extensively used by Royal kitchens and even stone masons as a designation mark, (basically anywhere where Royal coin was 'splashed' the goods or services obtained were marked with a broad arrow), significantly, in more modern times it has been associated and used by the Board of Ordnance, War department and finally the Ministry of Defence. Bond was also , as a character, a commander in the Royal Navy and so could be issued with MOD assigned/marked equipment. Not trying to be a twat or pull you up, Russ matey, or be clever, just thought you might appreciate the input, if you look back on the early Bonds, (movies), he is often addressed as commander bond, the heavier influence of the Ministry of Intelligence department came in later Bond movie movie depictions. Anyway another great video by the way
I also enjoy a bit of pedantry. The nato band colours are not even correct as Bond would have joined the General Service Corps on transfer from the navy to intelligence.
I prefer the Planet Ocean as I don't like the hands on this one, but I had been putting off trying it precisely because of the " monstrous carbuncle on the face of a much-loved and elegant friend.” as someone said once. However on the wrist the escape valve doesn't stand out and now I have a dilemma 🤔
I remember that they produced a limited edition Sea Master to celebrate some special landmark in the James Bond franchise. The watch instead of the wavy lines on the dial instead had “007” repeating as the background of the dial.
I really wouldn’t worry about the bezel, it’ll be fine, omegas warranty is good. Also, no issues with a friends 2006 seamaster or planet ocean, it’s a beast!
I have the standard SMP model purchased back in 2019 and to this day, the bezel action is tight with no play. Of course, while I do wear the watch daily - I rarely use the bezel so that can probably be why it's still so perfect. But it's a shame to see that these things are happening with this 007 model considering it's insane retail price. I can't wait to see what Omega has in store for this line down the road. I feel the SMP is due for a refresh. It would be nice if they finally remove that HE Valve. Maybe they can exclusively leave it on future Bond Models. One can only dream.
Love that "non-bling" version! 🤦🏼♂ ... but that Helium valve(?) Thanks for sharing! Hope all is well in your neck of the woods 😄👍🏼 (love those Mr. Pagani capsules!)
I wake up, have breakfast (alas, no watch on wrist...fractured/broke both of 'em - and my right leg - two weeks ago when a dude ran a Stop sign and clocked me while on my Vespa), check my YT feed and there you are! Latter-day Seamasters have been a bit too burly for me, but aesthetically this pretty much hits the spot. The issue with the bezel action confuses the he'll out of me: this isn't Omega's first rodeo with the material, and the action on this one would make a mid-level Seiko look stellar by contrast. Again, hats off to you (and Kurt, and the ever-sneaky Mr. Pagani)!
A while ago I saw a review where the steel bezel was smoother as titanium where the titanium rotates more dry feeling. He was right when my VEareOne20222 arrived and noticed a slightly sloppy and very dry rotating bezel. This may be in line with your experience. In my experience this is similar with steel vs ceramic bearings where ceramic is a harder surface thus lacks dampening= more noise. It's a very nice watch indeed. Tough I'm not in urge for a diver I did notice the Breitling SuperOcean could be one of the few I might save up for as an end gamer for me because it isn't "retro" or "rolex" homage/clone/copy. But that's my personal preference not to have a timeless marketed design I expect more effort (value) Cheers!
Had mine since last year. Paid £6k for a complete used set. My local AD said Omega have lots of stock as these are not selling that well at retail in 2023. Took a little time to get used to it but I do like it.
Anyway, about the watch: I do not have this watch. But I do have an homage to it that is very well done. It looks almost identical to it. I love it, but I tell ya, the hard thing about this watch is finding the band that sings in harmony with it. I tried the NATO (same color scheme as Omega sends out), and that was close. I tried leather, and that just did not fit with it. I tried several other things, plain black Natos and what have you...and nothing perfected it for me. Finally, I went with something I had never tried before, did not think I'd like and that would not work on any other watch...and THAT one...ws the right mate for this watch. It tok me months of trial and error before pairing this watch with a black stainless mesh band. Try it. It works.
I Ali Expressed it and got a the Pagani version and saved £8K.. Stuck a £10 Milanese bracelet on It and saved another grand. No escape valve, a cleaner dial, great bezel action and it’s one of my favourite watches. OK I would love the Omega but think it’s well overpriced just because it’s got 3 extra numbers etched into the case back.
The Omega Seamaster is cool, but Ian Flemming wrote in one of his books that Bond preferred a Rolex. If the franchise still wanted to remain true to his vision but wanted to use a different watch, I think the Tudor Black Bay would suit this purpose handlily.
When this thing first came out I had a very positive reaction with two BIG exceptions. Firstly, the helium escape valve, I HATE it! It looks stupid and isn't useful. Secondly, I really don't like the handset on these Omega Seamasters, I think I'm in the minority on that, but I'm not a fan. Now, add to that the bezel action. Great review! Love the new Macro shots!!! And one of the best Design House segments!
Funny you should choose to review this model Russ. My GP is a watch geek and he was telling me the other day that he was interested in this watch. W were looking at them online and I quite like it as well. Shame about the Bezel however. I have a 2007 Seamaster 300 and the bezel action is quite good. That lume is spectacular!
As a huge James Bond fan…. I would take issue With you, disparaging James Craig as Bond. He could never Beat out, Sean Connery, But no one could! Love that watch… Want that watch… Hopefully one day we’ll have that watch!
My bezel was like that out of the box. Love the design and bond so doesnt bother me enough to sell but between that and the visibility in low light when lume isnt charged keep me from wearing it more.
@THEMADWATCHCOLLECTOR : You make the most funny watches videos, and really like, all what you make with Mr PAGANI ! 😁🤣👍 you desserve so many more subscribers !
I would say this is almost a grail for me, but I have the white dial Seamaster and on mine the bezel action is so stiff, I can't really move it if I have a little oil on my hand ir it wet. The kime isn't that good and fades fairly quickly and the skeleton hands are difficult to see at night. Surprised the lume seems better, and the bezel is the opposite of too tight!? Maybe I could sell mine and get one of these!?🤔
Love the video, as always. Love the watch, but never on a thick nato. That protruding bit looks so ridiculous. Combined with the helium escape valve it makes the whole thing look like a metastazing tumor. Their titanium milanese bracelet is so much better.
I'm waiting on a call from an AD about this watch on the bracelet, and the only negative I have about it is the bezel. It's such a difficult bezel to grip when compared to my Pelagos 39, which is a masterpiece. The Lume on that NTTD makes up for it though, as I'll wear it in dark far more often than I'll wear it underwater. As for the MOD broad arrow/crows foot, I'm ex military so it doesn't bother me that much, and I prefer it to previous 007 brandings on past models. I showed my partner this video and she loved your wife's reaction, and actually pointed out that I could buy a Bentley/Jaguar/Maserati for the same money. I'm now considering my life choices 😭
@@THEMADWATCHCOLLECTOR I think so. To me I grew up in the same era as you, but my favourite Bond has been the gritty version that DC brought to the franchise. It's probably going to be an iconic watch in years to come and I don't see me parting with it anytime soon. Yes, it's a huge chunk of change, but you won't get a Bond Submariner for that money, so you have to consider that if you're buying a desirable franchise watch. Or I could buy the Sekonda look-a-like from H Samuels 😂
@@THEMADWATCHCOLLECTOR I just saw your #short this morning and was reminded of these comments. I did get a call from my AD for the NTTD but he also had the SMP300 with a green dial arrive on the same day. I bought the green as it looked much nicer and also saved me a chunk of change. Very happy!
Looks great, love titanium and beadblasted cases. Love fauxtina. If it comes to the watch I can be the next 007. The Macro shots are the best on youtube.
The broad arrow is a mistake on this watch. No spy would want this watch on wrist. Dead giveaway, especially with the unit markings on the caseback. This is a military watch not a spy watch. Difference is a uniformed soldier has protection under the Geneva Convention. A spy is executionable by death. Huge difference.
I really like this Seamaster, but the lack of a titanium bracelet option makes the odds of me eventually seeking to acquire one a tad less. The metal mesh bracelet they offer just ain't a style I dig. Otherwise, its aesthetics are superb IMO. Great video, esp. pointing that bezel concern.

The MOD references is just wan£y & insulting to actually service personnel - I know it's a character but it's overstepping a mark from fiction - just like awarding Mr Craig a CMG (?!) , not a regular OBE like Mr Brosnan.
Hi love your channel from the US. In the J Bond commentary are you saying ‘Pierce’ Brosnan or ‘Piss’ Brosnan?
I’m fine with either.
Love ya!
@@THEMADWATCHCOLLECTOR the CWC RN divers remind me a lot of that reference 👍🏽👍🏽
I like the watch but hate the buckle… it’s just too big which is a shame because the watch is gorgeous.
I saw what you did there with the "next Bond might not be able to swim" quip.
Purely a comment on how unnecessary the helium escape valve maybe nothing more
It’s a great watch but definitely pick it up with the bracelet but the natos are massively overpriced for what they are. The watch is ultralight and super comfortable the helium valve isn’t needed and the Lume is epic. Great video as usual sir. You are definitely right about Rolex though Bond is Rolex.
Cheers Phil!!
Cheers my friend!!
@@richardsims3847 Very true, l have a photo somewhere of the correct NATO strap.
See MWC using it without any basis of them being issued.
Personally have the PO and it’s miles ahead , fit an finish is so much better 👍
Love your reviews, a real MI6 agent would probably wear a CWC watch or some type of G-Shock. CWC actually has history with the M.O.D. !!!!
The 2254.50 is still my favourite Seamaster and the only one I’d really like to own.
(Not counting Aqua Terras)
Another superb video. Agree with everything you’ve said.
I remember that they produced a limited edition Sea Master to celebrate some special landmark in the James Bond franchise. The watch instead of the wavy lines on the dial instead had “007” repeating as the background of the dial.
You can't buy "taste"
MATE- You DESERVE some type of award for "Brilliance" in entertainment, knowledge, and masterful editing!!!!!!💯
Really liked the macro shots 👌
🤦🏼♂ ... but that Helium valve(?)
Thanks for sharing! Hope all is well in your neck of the woods 😄👍🏼
(love those Mr.
But that's my personal preference not to have a timeless marketed design I expect more effort (value)
Cheers!
Another great one, personally ended up finding my seamaster 300 a little meh so pulled the trigger on a PO instead 👍
Had mine since last year. Paid £6k for a complete used set. My local AD said Omega have lots of stock as these are not selling that well at retail in 2023. Took a little time to get used to it but I do like it.
Anyway, about the watch:
I do not have this watch.
Brilliant. You’ve gained a subscriber, keep up the good work 😃👍👌
Cheers Ian!!!!
The Omega Seamaster is cool, but Ian Flemming wrote in one of his books that Bond preferred a Rolex. If the franchise still wanted to remain true to his vision but wanted to use a different watch, I think the Tudor Black Bay would suit this purpose handlily.
Don't push it, or EON would have the new Bond wear an Apple Watch Ultra.
Cheers Ben!!!!
I agree with you on the hands. Credit for originality, but they're just awkward.
That once more was such an entertaining and enjoyable video. Well done, love the new macro shots. 🔍
"I'll bet the next James Bond won't even be able to swim ..." 🤣 lol ...
Mr. Bean for James Bond or Arnold Rimmer from Red Dwarf???
Fun review as always! loving it
Cheers my friend!
And Mr.Pagani also sell a version without the escape valve, and maybe a more classy set of hands.
Oooooooo burn!!!!!
Superb video, very entertaining even Oliver Reed turned up in Pagani mansion!👍🤣😂
Awesome to be in the military back then. Imagine getting issued a Rolex Submariner and an Omega Seamaster.
Nice review. I do love that watch.
We have very similar taste in watches. Maybe that’s why I love this channel!
Cheers Seth!!!
As a huge James Bond fan…. I would take issue With you, disparaging James Craig as Bond. He could never Beat out, Sean Connery, But no one could! Love that watch… Want that watch… Hopefully one day we’ll have that watch!
It’s all opinions my friend. Casino Royale was superb and something different after Brisbane surfing on a Tsunami but he never warmed to me bud
My bezel was like that out of the box. Love the design and bond so doesnt bother me enough to sell but between that and the visibility in low light when lume isnt charged keep me from wearing it more.
I like this watch bar the escape valve and the price!! You are so watchable MWC 😄
Thank you my friend!
@THEMADWATCHCOLLECTOR : You make the most funny watches videos, and really like, all what you make with Mr PAGANI ! 😁🤣👍 you desserve so many more subscribers !
Thank you my friend!!!
Maybe I could sell mine and get one of these!?🤔
14:59 very complete and entertaining review thanks! Omega has always nailed it and this is certainly a beauty.
Good review. Yes, you can polish titanium.
Not sure grade can be polished very well??? Grade 5 can
Very entertaining, yes seriously reviewed at the same time ⌚️💪🏼 keep up the outstanding work!
A man who enjoys a good Casio and has a preference for Roger Moore's Bond. Bravo sir. 👏👏👏
Hahahaha cheers my friend!
Bloody hell you’re a funny dude! I was cracking up at Mr Pagani. As always my friend, awesome video!
Love the video, as always. Love the watch, but never on a thick nato. That protruding bit looks so ridiculous. Combined with the helium escape valve it makes the whole thing look like a metastazing tumor. Their titanium milanese bracelet is so much better.
Keep in mind too Russ, Bond (Roger Moore) also wore Seiko…🤔
He did!!! When Cubby Broccoli was bleeding money!!! ;) awesome though
Defo can polish grade 2 Ti.. just not every company does it.
It’s ALOT of money my friend! Can you honestly say this watch will stay with you for a long time with the 007 logo on the caseback?
Very happy!
Great looking watch and fantastic review. Price is a bit steep.
Agreed! Thank you my friend!
Looks great, love titanium and beadblasted cases. Love fauxtina. If it comes to the watch I can be the next 007.
The Macro shots are the best on youtube.
I love this one watch...
Fantastic video. The pre ceramic sub will always be the Bond watch for me. Agree with you on the broad arrow!!
@@terryl7749 that’s a good point.
Dude. You have a gift for making things fun. Great review
Sexy beast... the watch that is. 🤨 Too bad about the bezel and case back. I can't see why it's that expensive, BUT the movement seems to save it.
BOND TAX Fred;)
Would love to see you do a planet ocean review if possible russ, especially in that white and orange stunnerrrrrrr
It’s on the list my friend defo!
@@THEMADWATCHCOLLECTOR can’t wait for that!
Great review and performance as always. Is there a crown ghost position?
Though Only bond watch I can afford is Casio AE1200, it's lume and colour is intriguing. But what does the crown at 10oclock do?
Helium escapement. For use when saturation diving! Does nothing to the movement as ads protection the deeper depths;/
Looser than a gooses loose bits! mate I am still laughing now! Quality as usual!
Cheers Michael!!!!!
