This is a perfect example of the great original comedies we aren’t getting anymore. This era of comedies in the early 2000’s was phenomenal and so under rated
Adam Sandler and Jack Nicholson make a surprisingly great comedy duo. This movie is absolutely hilarious, especially all the gaslighting. The monk scene is forever burned into my brain.
I think one of the overlooked aspect of this movie is how well it deals with Anger and the potential dangerous nature of explosive types of anger. The scene where Buddy tells him that people with his type of Anger aren't the ones that smash things up, or scream. They're they kinds that go and get a gun and shoot up a mall. It's a bit of a generalization but still pretty fitting.
I applaud Sandler for packing Anger Management with gorgeous ladies. Marisa Tomei, Heather Graham, January Jones and Krista Allen all look great and are quite funny.
Usually in mainstream comedy they have a wacky protagonist who constantly baffles the sane world around him. But in a few gems like this, they switch it around: Everyone other than the protagonist is a lunatic and slowly drives him insane.
For Mary to be triggered by a film called Anger Management feels like destiny fulfilled. I can imagine the makers of the film feeling a quiet sense of accomplishment 😂. Another great reaction video Mary. Thank you.
As a life and wellbeing coach, I love this film because it highlights a very common but under-appreciated phenomenon, i.e., where a therapist is more challenged than their patient. So in real life, this is a big problem - but both Jack and Adam deliver their roles to perfection. On another point, my best friend and I used to ding 'I feel pretty' in their style whenever we needed a mood-boost during rehearsals in our amateur dramatics group 😄
The “if I put on a few pounds do you think you could stifle your vomit long enough to have sex with me!?” line always makes cry laughing lol. Her delivery is just perfect
Jack Nicholson, for me, will always be the quintessential Hollywood powerhouse actor. He has that nebulous 'it factor' where every moment on camera is a masterclass of acting and he is SMOOTH with it.
The guy standing up was Mayor Giuliani. You also had woody harrelson in two scenes. The old guy in the booth at Yankee Stadium was the real Yankee announcer. So loved he was called “ the voice of God.”
So, Mary...this movie made you so mad? I recommend you for anger management...with Jack Nicholson of course. The "I feel pretty" song is from the musical "Westside Story"
I recommend As Good As It Gets starring Jack Nicholson. I, also, recommend the movie Punch Drunk Love starring Adam Sandler. Two of my favorite films starring those actors.
Lynne Thigpen's role as the judge was her final film role, as she passed away not too long before this was released. Kids who watched PBS in the 90s probably remember her as the Chief on the game show "Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?", as well as "Where in Time is Carmen Sandiego?".
After watching this one, most of the other Sandler comedies just seem so juvenile by comparison. GOOOZ - FRA - BA - !!! Btw, that was NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani loudly encouraging Dave at the ball game. I Feel Pretty was a song from the hit Broadway play WEST SIDE STORY., but they used the more popular lyrics from the 1961 film production, which won ELEVEN Academy Awards that year!
This movie is such a good representation of what its like to be shy. 2:3825:30 Having stigmas based off traumatic experiences 4:328:2023:3731:0533:55 Being disrespected and then being called a psycho when you stand up for yourself at all 6:288:2023:0226:0831:22 Having other people misinterpret you to others 7:48 Identifying as your hobbies because you dont want to get personal with people because of said issues 9:0231:33 Keeping everything bottled inside 10:06 Avoiding social situations 14:52 Looking for meaning in it all 15:06 Being trapped in uncomfortable situations by people 20:3323:3725:3030:1332:01 Being taken advantage of by others for being honest or shy 27:2130:13 Losing people you care about because of social issues 28:17 Lying about being fine not to inconvenience people 28:1734:14 Being angry about the issues that come with being shy It's easy to just think of shy people as some meek or rude individual, but really deep down most of them are good people that would rather not talk than to burden others with their problems.
I loved this movie because its genius to helping people understand their insecurities and gaining the ability to express themselves (in a healthy way) to stand up for themselves. After watching this movie my life improved tbh.
As Good As It Gets can be abrassive at times, but definitely a testament on Jack Nicholson's ability to bring humor to any type of role he plays. Probably my favorite film he's been in, even though I don't fw dramas/romances
Maybe not quite right for a reaction(?), but Punch Drunk Love would be a good movie to watch. It was Sandler's first serious movie, also about anger issues.
Great reaction Mary I love this movie, so good, you can totally tell that Adam and Jack are having a ball with each other throughout the flick. Also the fact that both can hold their own with each other is incredible, like Jack Nicholson is a legend with the amount of movies he's been in and the fact that he is old Hollywood. Then you have Adam Sandler a guy who makes really funny comedies, and at this point he has some great movies under his belt. By putting these two together it just really worked well.
This was just the reaction I needed to see. An outrageous, unhinged comedy by one of my favorite reactors is just what the doctor ordered. You are helping me get through my depression. It's been hitting me hard lately. I can always count on you and a few other reaction channels to bring a smile to my face. By the way, the song they sang throughout the movie is "I Feel Pretty," from the musical Wesr Side Story. You may want to react the the remake that was done a couple years ago, directed by Steven Spielberg. It was excellent. Anyway, thank you, Mary. Be well ❤️
When I was younger we weren't allowed to watch comedy films but this was one of the 1st few I was actually allowed to see so it holds a special place in my heart 😂 It's my favorite Adam Sandler film because of that fact as well. I still randomly sing "I feel pretty.", say goosfraba, and shout, "I SAID OVEREASY!!" to this very day haha
The song in the movie is from West Side Story. If you get the chance you should watch the Stephen Spielberg's West Side Story he did last year or the year before. He poured his heart, sweat and tears into and most people missed it because they'd rather watch Superhero films
Really enjoy this one, always loved the scene where Dave stands up to his boss, I just loved the dialogue there 😂 Also, that guy at the baseball game where you said "I don't know who that is", that was Rudy Giuliani. He was the former mayor of New York and is now Trump's attorney. He has a uhhhh... memorable appearance in Borat 2. Which by the way you NEED to watch both Borats, two of my favourite comedies of all time, they are ridiculously funny. Always love seeing your reactions, especially when it's movies I've seen so many times and are so familiar with. Keep up the great content Mary!!!!!
Hey Mary! I loved your reaction to this movie honestly Adam Sandler could probably play any role in any movie he's never played a killer but I know he could make the best psychopathical like psychological killer ever you know so but oh wow great reaction i'm so glad you didn't see the twist coming! I hate it when people get the movie right! Not enough people do a reaction to this movie! Keep up the great reactions and looking forward to see a lot more from you! And my cats are meowing right now which is kind of strange so I think they really like you!
Love this movie. If you remember, he tells him there are two types of angry people, the customer who rants and raves about the price and then there is the cashier who holds it all in to then explode at some other point. He goes on to say, you're the cashier. So what he's teaching him isn't how to be angry but how to express himself in the right way so that he doesn't hold it in and then suddenly explode, become angry at the wrong people. I believe the idea comes from the actual psychology of expression and anger and strangely, a psychologist was hired while making the movie as a consultant. Many people are either way to angry or like his character in the movie, often say nothing until they explode. The movie is a good fun way of showing that plus the different characters are rather funny. A great reaction. Have a fantastic day, take care!
This is a lower end Sandler movie for me but it's one of my favorite John Turturro performances. "You think you're better than me? Just cuz you got both your nuts." Classic
I really think you would enjoy "Mr. Deeds" . One of Adam sandlers best, and pretty much a love story. I know your into that. Plus alot of familiar characters
This is definitely one of my favorite comedies. I love Adam Sandler. There is a Sandler movie that is NOT a typical Sandler movie. It's called Punch Drunk Love. It is an amazing performance by Adam Sandler, and I highly recommend it.
Good reaction 👍 When I watch Sandler movies they are really funny at the beginning but later become too moral and I can't laugh as much. This movie is funny from start to finish and has a good story. Has the phrase "You need to calm down" ever worked when someone is angry?😂
would have dumped here right on the spot and then done as much media possible to shout out what a "#¤"¤" up thing she did, pretending to cheat to try get him back? nothing more disgusting than actual cheating

Mary, you need to watch Ace Ventura: Pet Detective and the sequel
What Dreams May Come (1998) Rpbin Williams
The confrontation on the airplane is a perfect example of an individual being gaslighted by an instigator and pushed to their breaking point.
It's a great example of how easy it is to piss off a calm person, simply tell them to calm down, lol. 🤣😂😁
Okay, calm down. You don't need to raise your voice about instigators, psycho
Bet her name was Karen lmfao
My last job and boss
@@Mike-j3o9t
this was way before the karen situation but the airline scene is the idea of hardships by airport workers
This is a perfect example of the great original comedies we aren’t getting anymore. This era of comedies in the early 2000’s was phenomenal and so under rated
The guy rooting him on at Yankee Stadium is Rudi Giuliani, former mayor of NYC from the mid 90s to 2001.
Adam Sandler and Jack Nicholson make a surprisingly great comedy duo. This movie is absolutely hilarious, especially all the gaslighting. The monk scene is forever burned into my brain.
Rahhshaahnanananhh
Wildebeast 🤣🤣🤣

Hahahahahahahahaha!!! 🔫
The urinal scene completely broke the code of urinal ethics, eyes forward, that's why the tv's are there!
I just avoid using them altogether.
that "i fell pretty" scene in the car is such a classic
I applaud Sandler for packing Anger Management with gorgeous ladies. Marisa Tomei, Heather Graham, January Jones and Krista Allen all look great and are quite funny.
This is one the best Adam Sandler movies. I like when you rewatch it and you realize that Jack is testing him from the beginnning.
This is one of Adam's better films. This one is fun! 😂
Im só pretyy 😂
“I told you not to go there!” That scene cracks me up every time lol.
Thank you.
Nice shout-out to Marisa Tomei! She's so underrated. I 🤍 your reactions!
11:12 you come down here before black wolf swallows my brains very funny I was laughing for hours
As a life and wellbeing coach, I love this film because it highlights a very common but under-appreciated phenomenon, i.e., where a therapist is more challenged than their patient. So in real life, this is a big problem - but both Jack and Adam deliver their roles to perfection.

When he steps back and says “holy sh*t” when she says the at cracks me up lol
Mary: if I was a girl I’d reject him…..
Finally someone else noticed! 😂 I was confused if maybe she said "If I was THE girl Id reject him" 🤷😄 but probably just a mixup
Jack Nicholson, for me, will always be the quintessential Hollywood powerhouse actor. He has that nebulous 'it factor' where every moment on camera is a masterclass of acting and he is SMOOTH with it.
Yes and it’s surprising that he would team with a loser like adam sandler
The guy standing up was Mayor Giuliani. You also had woody harrelson in two scenes. The old guy in the booth at Yankee Stadium was the real Yankee announcer. So loved he was called “ the voice of God.”
The irony of getting mad while watching a movie called Anger Management, maybe Jack Nicholson will help you through it 😂
lol
So, Mary...this movie made you so mad? I recommend you for anger management...with Jack Nicholson of course. The "I feel pretty" song is from the musical "Westside Story"
I recommend As Good As It Gets starring Jack Nicholson. I, also, recommend the movie Punch Drunk Love starring Adam Sandler. Two of my favorite films starring those actors.
I was going to suggest Punch Drunk Love as well for an out of the box Adam Sandler role.
I saw it when it came out on video. Surprised the heck out of me. First time got to see some real acting from Adam, imo.
Met jack the night Lebron broke Kareem’s record,
Such a unique guy shoutout to him
Really appreciated Adam Sandler in Punch Drunk Love, Uncut Gems and Hustle.
And Spanglish, Reign Over Me…
This is SUCH an underrated movie. I haven't seen anyone else react to it and it's a shame. This movie is a classic to me!
If my girlfriend put me through that I’d have her arrested on the spot
Yeah while this movie is funny it's dark af. So manipulative.
Yeah at the end of this film I always walk away thinking that if I was in his situation I'd never be able to trust her again.
She did have her boyfriend spend thousands on his lawyer for all the times in court
Ok now we know Mary needs to watch “West Side Story” with Natalie Wood 😅
Hahaha right
@@bmriverrat11 that would be so great! 😃 I hope she sees this

"Who is that guy?" ...that was Rudy Guiliani. He was Mayor of New York around that time.
Next, you should watch what women want starring Mel Gibson, and Marisa Tomei.

This movie is such a good representation of what its like to be shy.

4:32 8:20 23:37 31:05 33:55 Being disrespected and then being called a psycho when you stand up for yourself at all

It's easy to just think of shy people as some meek or rude individual, but really deep down most of them are good people that would rather not talk than to burden others with their problems.
FYI, the "I Feel Pretty" song is from the musical, "West Side Story", which was made into movies in 1961 and 2021.

I just uh prefer the original. Remakes are just tired.
Original with Natalie Wood and the great Rita Moreno was far superior.
Happy you liked this movie Jack gives a stellar performance.
"I Feel Pretty" is from the musical West Side Story. 😊
You gotta watch West Side Story
This is, hands-down, Jack Nicholson's best role. "kNOw Buddy Cares" is the best slogan for an anger therapist ever.
That movie Jack's watching on the plane is called "Tomcats," btw.
"Must be Bill Clinton" must be an out-of-the-US version. The line's originally "I think it's Regis Philbin."

Jack's laugh, though 😆. And yes, I know he was the Joker.
I don’t like scary movies, so I’m glad you’re back!
I only watched this one time because it triggered the hell out of me. Watching your reaction got me all heated up again during this movie. 😆
This movie holds up even better in 2024 lol. Can we agree that Woody Harrelsons cameo is amazing haha.
I remember seeing this in theatres with my dad back when I was in middle school. One of my favorite comedies!

Nice editing, I was busting up “that’s what she said.” Again nice editing
My day ended rough but the thought of someone equals it out.
At least Sandler didn´t say bomb in that plain.
I loved hearing the Joker laugh coming from Nicholson again.
Just go with it I think is my fav A S movie!
Omg I forgot woody harilson was in this movie. I died when he was in the car with them lol😂
Nice reaction Mary, great collaboration between Adam and Jack, very funny movie. 🥰❤️🔥
"ALONG CAME POLLY" is another great comedy movie you should see! 👍👍

one of my all time favorite comedies 🙌🙌
Jack definitely makes the character epic. This is definitely my favorite Adam Sandler movie
I LOVE how everyone notices Mary's anger issues.🤣🤣🤣🤣 Y'all should see her Twitch streams when gaming gets intense.. You better watch out. Lol
Adam Sandler's best work was 'Reign Over Me'. Not what you'd expect from Adam.
Great film
I love this film so much, and I watched it for the first time in third grade when it came out
Mary, this is a comedy.
This is definitely one of my favorite comedies. I love Adam Sandler. There is a Sandler movie that is NOT a typical Sandler movie. It's called Punch Drunk Love. It is an amazing performance by Adam Sandler, and I highly recommend it.
Cool reaction as always Mary, you take care and have a nice day sweetie 🥰❤️
FINALLY somebody watches this amazing movie. Such a great duo, and one of Adam Sandlers better, later comedies.
Now Mary Cherry needs Anger Management. 😂
The song I Feel Pretty being the anthem for the film. Hilarious
Mary: I haven't heard this song before.
...Welp, guess we're putting West Side Story on the docket!
The answer to your question at 10:23.... of course
As a kid I myself have had the same thing happen to me with the de-pantsing and it was terrible
The song 'I feel pretty' is from the famous musical West Side Story
Good reaction 👍 When I watch Sandler movies they are really funny at the beginning but later become too moral and I can't laugh as much. This movie is funny from start to finish and has a good story. Has the phrase "You need to calm down" ever worked when someone is angry?😂
This movie is so funny 😂
Duplex with Ben stiller is a funny one as well
Heather Graham in a Red Sox bra 👌
Wtffff I did a rewatch of this last night cause I haven’t watched it in ages and then u posted this what r the odds 😂😂😂

This movie is a classic love the video Mary stay motivated Dream big 1 mill on the way
This movie made me mad too but I love it
So cute Mary! 😍
Jack Nicholson’s smile is such a nod of his Joker days. Krista Allen and January Jones are the greatest sandwich bread in history
Or it’s just how he smiles
Add Marisa tomei to that sandwich 👌🏼
